Which would you choose and why? We can do a Theme Park View Room at the Poly for $500 more than a Courtyard Bunk Bed Room at the WL. We have stayed at the WL and love it there, but I have always wanted to stay at the Poly and with the 40% deal, it's very very tempting. This is for a 4 day add on to the front end of our upcoming DVC stay at the BCV. So, what does everyone think? It will be DH, DD10 and DS8. TIA! :)

I would go with the Poly :). We've stayed at both the WL and the Poly and although we love the WL, we love the Poly more :goodvibes. We love everything about the Poly from the tropical surroundings to relaxing in a hammock on the beach while watching the fireworks to having a dead on view of the castle while swimming, etc ;). Plus you can't beat the 40% off for the Poly :thumbsup2. Go with the Poly....you won't regret it :wizard:.

POLY!!! I am hoping for a 40% discount for next May for the same upgrade

I guess I'll be the one person (so far) who says to stay with the WL -- not only do I absolutely LOVE the WL, $500 is a big difference! I'd use that money towards souveniers or something.

I've stayed at both and vote for the Poly however I wouldn't splurge for the Theme Park view. Either stay garden or lagoon view. We've always done garden view at Poly and like it. We usually get a view of the quiet pool. I don't know if we'll ever go back to WL.

Poly, no question. They are both beautiful resorts, but the Poly wins out hands down for service, convenience and atmosphere.

My vote is with WL. I love the resort! We stayed at Poly on our last trip and were very dissapointed. I did not like the themeing at all. the pool was very nice, but got very crowded. With that said, I am glad we tried it. I probably won't go back, but at least we gave it a try!

We have stayed at both...courtyard view at WL and club level at Poly. There is no way we would ever stay at Poly again. We love the WL, and I have always wanted to stay at Poly...after the first day I, DH and DS all said how unfortunate it was that we had been unable to book a room at WL. The Poly bus service is so bad I would suggest a car for travel to DHS and AK. We were there during January, very slow season, I can't imagine the bus nightmare in regular season, let alone a peak season. We didn't like the "old and run down" feeling, not to mention the musty smell, we got from the Poly. The Poly is nothing compared to WL. The monorail is nice, but that relaxing boat ride to/from MK to WL is far far better. No offense to anyone, I know lots of people here like the Poly but to us it is way over-rated. The service was okay and that was club level service. JM2C.

I also think that when you find a resort that works for your family, stick with it. Sometimes we get things built up and are dissapointed when they finally happen. For instance we stayed at POFQ in May and liked it so much we're staying there again in October.

I've been having the same debate between the Contemporary and the WL... Just booked at the CR with a 40% discount, so the WL would only be $200 cheaper. I based it mostly on convenience of the Monorail...

I've never stayed at WL, so that's also part of my problem, but everyone on the boards seems to love it. I haven't heard one bad review.

I will also say that I love the Poly. Stayed there once and go back every time we're down there for dinner and just to walk around. I think the atmosphere is awesome.

Either way you go, sounds like you can't go wrong to me!

I've stayed at both...I have to say if the price was the same I'd still pick WL over POLY. Yes, POLY has the monorail and the volcano pool is pretty cool too-that is really nice, but not enough for me to go there over WL in the future. I didn't like how the buildings were not connected. I can't think of anything else that I didn't like about POLY I just strongly prefer the theme and everything about WL...if only the monorail had a stop at WL-life would be perfect.:lmao:

However, it is always nice to try new things...with 40% off it makes it a little bit more affordable to check it out for yourself.

We stayed at both last year. I love them both. There are definitely things about each I like better than the other. For WL, I like that everything is in one building and I can go by myself to the gift shop or quick service after dark without being uncomfortable- the Poly at night you have to run around dark outdoor paths to get to the Grand Ceremonial house. I also much prefer Roarin Forks to Captain Cooks. For the Poly, the rooms are much bigger than WL and having the monorail right there can't be beat. We were close to the TTC, so we just walked there and grabbed the monorail straight to Epcot or MK. Being able to get off the monorail and have a couple of minute walk to the room was great! If you have always wanted to stay at the Poly, I say with the discount now is the time to do it. You can't always count on the discounts being there. You can't go wrong with either choice!
