I don't understand. Does your job require formal wear? If not, then your closet full of clothes shouldn't be itchy, uncomfortable, and tight. It's a sign that they're the wrong size and/or cheaply made. Hence the need for a wardrobe makeover.

It would really make you feel better, and imagine the stress of not having to panic each time you're required to come up with an outfit.

I've shopped at Lane Bryant, and I'll echo what others have said. The clothes are well made, and they're modern without being too trendy. I've never had a bad sales experience there because the employees have always been incredibly helpful, especially when it comes to putting together outfits. If you're anything like me, sometimes a little help is necessary in that department.

Great advice! If your clothes are tight, itchy, uncomfortable then they are the wrong size and/or poorly made. Another piece of advice: throw those shoes away. They are worn out.

For what it's worth, the thing about horizontal stripes isn't true, especially on a dress cut like that. Horizontal stripes on the top exaggerate the hourglass, while the bias cut on the bottom is very flattering. By which I mean, I think it would look fantastic.

Also, I'm a big proponent of cardigans with dresses. While not the biggest Taylor Swift fan, this gives a sense of what it can look like, which is totally appropriate for a first date.

Wow, Cher Horawitz, Blanche Devareaux, and Taylor Swift in the same thread. I have achieved true greatness.

Well, just wanted to check in, so ya'll knew I made it home okay (just in case you were wondering)

I went with green dress and brown cardigan, sorry guys. Comfort won out. BUT, I did ditch the shoes and went with a pair of nice brown low cut boots instead.

I am super, super tired, so...I will fill you guys in tomorrow. Here is a teaser though: I tried eel sushi.

Can't wait to hear the deets! So cool that you tried something new!

I love sushi but hate eel. I think it's the texture.

This!
No clothing should be itchy or whatever.

I want to add: no decent, properly fitted undergarments should be poking.
As far as I remember, you are a voluptuous woman :) Underwire is our friend. If your bra is the right style for you AND the right size, there is no reason why it should poke you.
It will actually improve your figure and posture and clothing will fit better.
It's no use to wear the most expensive clothes if you don't wear decent and correctly fitted undergarments. And yes, out of experience I know that the higher priced ones are way better than the cheap stuff. Small girls can get away with cheaper ones. Big girls need the good stuff!

This, this this!

and, one other note on bras: handwash or use the delicate cycle and hang them to dry to maintain their shape and not warp the wire. If they seem to fit well on the store and not later on, how you handle them in the wash could be the reason.

Saw your update, OP. Your outfit sounds great! You tried eel??? OMG you are adventurous. Looking forward to hearing more about your date.

Great :thumbsup2

Like others have said if it is Hibachi it is just chicken and rice so not that different.

Is that what they are calling it now?

I really can't believe this much thought was put into a first date but good for you OP.

:lmao:

First dates are important. Most women put a lot of thought into what to wear. :)
