It is only questioned because the OP has never eaten Japanese. I know I would not be very comfortable on a date with food that I do not know anything about.

I really think you need to read through the pages. If you did you would see that she is not going to get sexy & show cleavage. You would also see isn't really interested in seeing him again, expect maybe as friends.

Oh... Thank you. I appreciate this. :) Then perhaps dvd should be forgotten. I think she can just buy another one.

Mackey, can you have him mail the DVD back? To your office maybe? Not sure you should have a second date with him...

Why? She never said he was creepy or anything. Even though she was taken off guard by the kiss, she didn't come on her and indicate that she felt violated. She made the blushy smiley, which to me, kinda read like she was a bit happy about the kiss. Then she seemed upset when she'd thought she'd blown it by putting him off by 3 weeks. I think it would be great if OP met with the guy for coffee or putt putt (is it still too cold? Maybe bowling?). Definitely a light hearted date in a public place.

Ooo...I do hope you share some details about what's been going on! Don't know know that 99% of the people who commented on this thread and nitpicked your date to death are all fuddy duddy married people living vicariously through your dating life? We want to hear some deets!

@_@ Doubtful.

Dates with this married fuddy duddy end in sex, not a missing DVD. Much more exciting.

If that's the case, would your DH mind if you and I went out on a date Saturday night?

No, no second date yet. Some really weird, crazy things have happened, in the mean time, and I will just leave it at that. I'm hoping to hear from him again at some point, but for right now...maybe not so much.

Mary Poppins is MIA for the time being.

Thanks! Great advice. But, no...no big girl panties. Even if no one is gonna see them, ya gotta go with the cute panties. :eek::laughing:

Yes...he borrowed it.

I knew to bring it, because we actually spoke a number of times before the date itself. I cannot remember the exact conversation...I think it started with love of Disney movies, started talking about Saving Mr Banks...at some point he mentioned that it had been forever since he had watched Mary Poppins. I told him he could borrow it if he wanted. And so I brought it along with me.

That was pretty much the extent of it.

I don't want to sound harsh. But you are not getting it. No man watches Mary Poppins by himself. This guy from the start was into you. He asked you out, he took you out, he had a good time with YOU. He wanted to see you again and you picked a date that was 3 weeks away, no guy wants to wait that long to see a girl again that he is interested in. He borrowed the DVD in hopes that you would watch with him.

And the comment about “pulling up your big girl panties”.. you took it out of context, basically that person was telling you that it's time to be an adult about adult situations like dating. Maybe you should do double dates instead of one on one's if that makes you more comfortable. If a dude does something you don't like, for instance, put his arm around you, don't be afraid to say “ hey that makes me feel uncomfortable”. Everyone here has been giving their good 2 cents to you on advice and tips. I agree with everyone else, maybe seek out a counselor.

For future reference, if a dude takes you out and you don't like the food find something on the menu that sounds enjoyable,only you can make that decision not a open forum who do not have your taste buds.Don't make fuss over it with the guy,don't have an argument over it either.

Or better yet. If he suggestion a cuisine you do not like TELL HIM that you not eat/like that cuisine and would prefer to go elsewhere.
