Hello All ~ Which do you like best and why? FQ or RS? S

Hoping for some answers because I was just about to ask the exact same question.

Hope I can help alittle bit. We stayed at PORS in March 2003. We loved it. We had the water view on the second floor overlooking the river. Our view was also looked back toward the big water wheel next to the food court. This resort was more themed to the bayou. Like you were in the woods. We went to the pool at POFQ and it was themed more toward New Orleans. With more colors and ornamental wrought iron railings just outside the rooms. But we definitely return to PORS.

I have stayed at both. PORQ once and POR at least five times.

I think the landscaping is far superior at POR and much more relaxing to be around.

There is no comparison in my opinion.

Having stayed at both and liked very much both I would ask. Do you have small kids. If so then POFQ might be best because of the pool. Our kids reallt kiked it. My wife and I stayed at RS a couple years ago in AB bldg. 14 and loved the laid back atmosphere and bueatiful landscaping. We loved Boatwrights restaurant and the food court was OK. They have been redoing the rooms at RS and I hear they are nice. The only downside I have to both were they allowed smokers outside just about anywhere and there were many who did not care where they blew their smoke and threw their used butts. Hope this helps...smjj

I am really looking forward to staying at either RS or FQ. We are spliting our stay between Port Orleans [RS or FQ] for abouit 4 nights and then CBR for 4 nights. We loved CBR in 2001. It's my dd's fav resort. We are returning to WDW because dd is ill. I think she is love both RS and FQ! Thanks! S

I think you will like either of the resorts. We have stayed at both and had good experiences at both. We are partial though to POFQ.

I think both my kids [dd will be 12 and ds will be 6] will love the FQ pool and all the bright colours too. But my kids really surprise me sometimes. For instance, their fav park is Epcot. They don't care too much for MK like I do ~ heeheehee. They might love the relaxed feel of RS. Since both are close to each other, it's like getting two resorts in one. Thanks! S

My choice would be RS. Simply put, I believe it is more romantic. Enough said!

My vote would be for the FQ. We'll be returning there again on September 30 for a 9 night stay.

Helpful tip: the bus would almost always picked up people at the FQ first. The two resorts do share a bus up to a certain point. So, if you are hoping to sit rather than stand the ride over to the theme parks FQ is your best bet!

We found it very relaxing at FQ and you can still use all the ammenities over at RS! Enjoy what both have to offer! If you don't want to walk between the two you can take the boat over! ;) Just make sure they are going to where you want to go first. Otherwise you may end up at DTD!

The last visit we stayed at PORS, this time, due to the complaining :smooth: about the long walk from my 6 yr old dd, we are staying at POFQ. She was exhausted after long days at the park, and even though I felt it was just a short walk from the bus stop, she did not agree. We went over and checked out POFQ and she thought it was much better for her distance wise. Must admit, I loved the mansion area of PORS but I am excited about POFQ. Plus, she thinks the serpent tongue pool slide is, "the bomb". :cool1:

I've stayed at POFQ 6 times and POR 2 times. I much prefer POFQ to POR and only stayed at POR due to the fact that we could get a better rate at POR. We were at POR in May and although it is a beautiful resort and we were in AB 18, which is a great location, I really missed the convenience of POFQ. We spent most of our pool time at POFQ. The kids prefer that pool to POR. The good thing is that no matter which one you pick, you are at Disney!! You will have a great time at either.

We LOVE POFQ!! It is such a nice size resort - no building is too far from Food Court, pool, etc. We had a 2nd floor river view room in building 6 which we loved very much - only like two "blocks" from food, pool, and bus stop. We did spend time visiting/swimming at POR and while we enjoyed it, we couldn't imagine staying somewhere so large and spread out. The boat ride between resorts/downtown disney is great, and we never got on a boat that wasn't going to the other resort FIRST before DTD so we never had to wait!
I know you'll be happy at either resort, but my vote is definitely with POFQ! :flower:

We'll be staying at POR. Apparently, from what has been said on this thread we could go to the POFQ pool. How long of a walk is it? Doesn't POR have a pool slide? I thought it did.

Just back from 5 days at the FQ. :sunny: Rooms were beautiful and spotless! Cleanest rooms ever! my boys (ds 12 and ds 10) loved the pool. we've stayed at PORS and CSR also, but we all prefer the FQ. bus stop also very convenient. i would stay in the mansions if i chose PORS.

Hi! POR does have a pool slide and my DD's 9 and 11 liked it even better than the one at POFQ. The walk from POFQ took us about 10-15 minutes to the pool at POR. The boat takes less time if you hit it at a time when it's already at your dock! :flower:

Are you saying the pool to pool walk is 10-15 minutes? THX, S :flower:

Yeah, POR does have a water slide also. We decided on POR because I was afraid some of the jester and clown-like decorations might freak my daughter out at POFQ. The pool at POR looked a little more low-key. Like you said though, I think we can go to either pool, so we may go check out the serpent slide at POFQ, and see how she likes it.

Also, my parents are going, and my mom is really into the old southern style decor, so we are going to try to stay in the mansions.
