POFQ CLOSING INFO THREADS-UPDATED & CLEANED UP!

momtothreeangels...

I too am booked from 5/2 thru 5/9. Yesterday (Monday)was supposed to be my big day for the return call with all my offers. NO CALL... I called them only to find that nothing but the moderates could be offered. I then explained that we did not like the other moderates and would consider other options. She said all of the following was not available for my stay: NO POLY, NO BC, NO YC and she said she would put me on a 24 hour wait and I would get a call today (Tuesday).

NO CALL TODAY.... Finally I called again and stated that with 2 1/2 weeks left, I want this settled today! She could only offer the same items and said she could not do more. I asked for a refund after getting upset that I was the one who had to even call them. I did not yell, but boy was I angry when I asked for a refund. This is my wedding anniversary trip!

After I insisted on my money back, she all of a sudden had availibility at the Poly for me. She did not sound happy to offer it, but I did take it. I know it is a good deal, and when I get done being angry that it had gotton that far, I will enjoy my vacation.

I don't know much about the Poly, I hope we will love it.

Good luck..... It all depends on who you get and when!

Ok, here is my deal.......

I was booked at POFQ for June 27 thru July 4th. My reservation was made thru the Disney Club, not sure if I got much of a discount or not....my rate with taxes was around $153 a night...

So I called tonight and waited around 20 minutes or so..got transferred a couple of times...but finally got a nice CM who was happy to help out...

We wanted to up-grade to Wilderness Lodge and she said there was nothing available...so she offered AKL, but we don't like the location...

Then she offered Beach Club for an extra $44 per night..while I was thinking about that, she put me on hold.....

She came back a few minutes later and said she went to check and see exactly how many rooms were available at Wilderness Lodge....

The good news is that we got a wood view.....the up-grade price was only $22 a night..so for an extra $156, we get to stay at WL for 7 nights....we are excited...we were not looking forward to the larger CBR or CS....we have stayed at both and prefer the smaller French Quarter.. The WL is small as well and has a great location....

I am really thankful that the CM went the extra mile to check and see if anything was available at WL...I was afraid that the week before the 4th would be so busy that we wouldnt get to get in there....

Last week we called before all the packages were in the system and were told it would be an extra $900 for the week to get WL...

I will miss PO this year, but at least Disney has given me a great up-grade for a minimum cost....

My advice is to have the CM really check to see if all the rooms are really booked at the resort that you want or is it just the computer in front of them telling them that....and just be patient...

Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to let everyone know there is hope for a good deal.....

I wasn't posting about my $74 rate in response to you...it was to someone else that mentioned they had a come back rate.

I do think it's very strange that they do not get any information from your mom. They always ask for my # and name and that's when they know that my code isn't in their system.

Thanks to everyone on this thread for the info. We had reservations at PO-FQ for 5/24 - 5/29. Because of you, I was able to do my research and prepare for my transfer call. I called the Relocation Team this evening around 8:30 ET (Ph. 407-939-7919). I was prepared for a long wait. After only a couple of minutes a CM came on the line and asked to help me! I was so surprised I wasn't even ready with my papers yet! We started off with a nice conversation about what was happening. She first offered me a relocation to another moderate. She wanted me to know that I could still secure my $94 rate at another moderate. I explained to her why my family had chosen PO-FQ and we were not interested in CBR or CSR. She said that she understood and immediately asked if I was interested in upgrading to another resort. I explained to her that we were on a budget and I was concerned about the cost. Very kindly, she said that she was certain we would find something within our budget. So I told her that we had done our research in preparation for this call and that we were interested in AKL. She offered me a savannah view for $114 ($127 w/tax). She looked for a standard view room to lower the price, but none were available. Actually, I was trying to hold back my excitement as I knew we wanted the savannah view! We visited about the resort and she helped me put in a room request, no guarantees however. She thanked me for my patience and the call was completed in 15-18 minutes.

When we started planning this trip, I only dreamed of staying at AKL, but it wasn't within our budget. So I made PS for dinner at Boma to at least visit the resort. Now, we are staying there! Disney has treated us well. My advice to you? Do your research ahead of time. Keep a calculator handy to do the quick math. And above all, keep a pleasant attitude. Good luck and again, thanks for your help!

Well, I got my call yesterday afternoon. It only took 3 e mails and about a dozen phone calls but they called.
We took Board Walk (trip is 6/30-7/5) for 30.00 more a night. we had the discounted rate of 94.00 so I think I got a great deal.
Now I just have to get information on Boardwalk.

I just called and got my reservation changed to Coronado Springs. The CM on the phone was extremely helpful. I'm definitely glad to know where I'm staying....I've never stayed there, so I'm excited. I didn't ask for an upgrade...so I don't know anything about that subject...

Good luck to anyone else needing to make the change.

I just got a "courtesty call" from someone in the Outbound Dept. She said that they are still waiting on a code for the code I used (the second Disney Visa code). She said that code is one of the newest codes they have, and they are still working on it. So, I'm still waiting for news.

She told me that she is responding to the call I made on April 9th, so if you have a call into them and are still waiting, it looks like it's taking a while for them to respond.

I'm thinking that I should start a pool here on the thread to see who can guess when I will know where I'm staying. The winner can have my collection of useless WDTC confirmations (I think I have about 10 of them). So get your guesses of dates and times as to when you think I'll hear where I'm staying in. (I think I've gone beyond the point of being stressed, frustrated, and annoyed by this whole situation, and gone on the fact track to delarious).

I would recommend anyone going the beginning of May not to wait for a phone call, call yourself.

I called on Sat. and after being on hold for 1 hour, we were able to get AKL savanna view. Our trip is 5/5/ - 5/10. Normally we would have been quite happy, but we were just there in Sept. and after reading all the great deals others got, I wanted the Poly. I was told there was nothing available at the Poly for our dates.

So I called again this morning, explained my situation, and sure enough, we got the Poly for our dates. The CM told me that even on the weekend, every thing hadn't been put into the system. We are thrilled.

Our price for PO/FQ was $608 for 5 nights. It was king bed, water view. Now we are paying $775 for the Poly. What a deal!!!!!!! I am so glad I took the chance and called back.

Here is my POFQ saga: I booked my trip (May 8th-14th) on March 4th, called directly to Disney (Room only reservation) for FQ, CM quoted me $156.00 per night including tax, I asked if there were any specials, she said she had a code from her previous caller, this brought me down to $116.00 per night including tax, perfect I'll take it. In the meantime, Disney E-mailed me a promotion for the Value Resorts with a code, I called and gave them that one, now I'm down to $104.00 including tax. Fantastic!!!

A couple weeks ago, I found this board through MouseSavers and I've been reading everyones' tips about the parks and so on, (Thank you all) and I happen to see a thread saying "POFQ closing for Renovations". Well, I FREAKED OUT, to say the least, when I found out it was closing 5 days before our arrival. Call Disney right away, was told to wait for my call sometime the following week. I've been practically LIVING on this board seeing what everyone in my boat has been doing. And everyone has gotten a different response from Disney. I received my call last Thursday (4/10), of course I wasn't home, my husband took the call and they told him to tell me to call back on Monday (4/14) because they would have upgrades by then.

Now I'm trying to decide what hotel I would want to stay in, my two daughters (8 & 10) decided they liked BWI, so that was our first choice with AKL being our second.

Sunday I'm on the board and everyone was so excited they got their upgrades, I thought "What am I waiting for??, "Where's the phone?" Call Disney, the CM's first question for me was "What is your preference?" Well, she said BWI had no availability, she then checked BC & YC, still no availability. I asked about AKL--Bingo--Available, Savanna view, at $127.00 per night including tax. Checked with my husband he said go for it, told CM "I'll take it".
My girls were thrilled because I asked for a room with the Queen bed and the Bunk beds. The pool looks awesome too.

We're extremely happy the way everything turned out, after all that worrying and wondering what we were going to do.

Thank you to everyone here, I've found all of your posts both interesting and very informative.

See you in Disney,

Karen

We got upgraded to AKl standard view for approximately $10 more a night. We had water view rooms booked at FQ and although we are thrilled we got an upgrade we're not looking forward to our new view of the parking lot. I was wondering, do you think if we called and asked the relocation team if we could upgrade to a better view they would give us some sort of deal on the cost or would we have to call CRO directly and pay the full price of an upgrade from a standard view to at least a pool view? I hope this doesn't sound like I am not appreciative for what we got it's just that we have always paid for the preferred view and from what I am reading all the standard view rooms at AKL face the parking lot.

Finally!!!! today was my day!!! Our dates are 6/30 - 7/7/03 and have the Dream Maker + Silver. My TA just informed me that my choice of WL was available for a total of $79. w/tax for my 7 nights (which is $10 p/n). :Pinkbounc

FYI - I was told that YC/BC for those dates were unavailable.(which is OK with me - I really wanted WL).

Good luck to those who are still waiting. I know that it is VERY difficult waiting and wondering.

We had POFQ for $94 a night in early June. Just heard from my DU travel agent - we got Wilderness Lodge, woods view, for $10 more per night. I'm sooo happy - DH and I have always wanted to stay at Wilderness Lodge, but when you're paying for airfare, tix, meals and souveniers for a family of 4, Wilderness Lodge was just too expensive. YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :D :)

I am so excited! Now here's my quick story for today's call(s).

I called and was only on hold for 5 minutes. While I was speaking to the CM my 1-yo son woke up from his nap. The CM told me that the upgrades were available and asked what resort I wanted. While I was picking my son up I disconnected the line. Oh no! I was wondering, will the CM call me back or what should I do. I waited about 2 minutes and then called all over again.

My 2nd call I was on hold for 2 minutes and spoke to a different CM. I told her my quick story and she apologized (tho it was my fault). I told her I would like to stay at the Yacht Club and she said they only had water view left. I said it probably is too much but let me know the price. She put me on hold for almost 10 minutes and came back informing me that there were standard rooms available at $30/night more. I wanted to make sure there were 3 rooms available because I had 3 separate ressies for relatives and she said yes.

Well, now we're booked at the Yacht Club in November - the last week of the Food and Wine Festival. How wonderful. Thanks to all of you posting your stories. I hope it works for everyone else too. My advise, also, is if you really have a resort preference, call them ASAP. All the CMs I have spoken with have been so nice.

Disneyolic, just curious. What rate did you get for that time period?

Finally!!! My mom called today and got BWI for 124!

The CM told her she could have ANY deluxe resort she wanted! This kind of threw my mom off, as she was preparing herself to have to make some kind of decision between a few.

She is going for her anniversary and I think she made the right choice.

I had to go back and read all the posts from this morning. Congratultions! It seems like everyone is getting very good deals!

Has anyone who started out with a $74/night rate gotten an upgrade to a deluxe (Yacht, Beach, Boardwalk, Poly) for less than $124? (Not including WL and AKL). Just wondering... this is the rate we got at the Boardwalk - which is great, but I'm just wondering if anyone else got a bigger discount. Just curious.

I started out at $74 and haven't been offered an upgrade, but I'm glad to see that someone has. Going 5/24-5/31..

My TA just called with good news. I got the Poly for 5/25-5/31 for the $30 upgrade.

Just got the call!

I can't believe it and I am so happy that I'm jumping up and down.:Pinkbounc I hardly ever get home from work by 5:00 but today I did! And guess who was calling when I walked in the door!:bounce:

Anyway, I had a ressie for Dec. 6-10 at POFQ. DH & I are splitting our stay. We are celebrating DH's 50th birthday, and he had picked POFQ because it is one of his favorites. AKL for three days was made possible due to the comeback rate that we received back in Jan. :Pinkbounc

So the nice CM asked me where I would like for her to check for my upgrade since I was being displaced from POFQ. She did not even mention another moderate. I told her that since we were already splitting our stay with the AKL that I would like to try someplace different. She quoted me the Poly for roughly $30 more a night ($132.50/night), the BWI at the same rate, the BC at $122.50/night, and WL woods view at $110.25/night. To make a long story short, I choose WL woods view. They were all such good rates!:bounce: I felt like a kid in a candy factory!:Pinkbounc It's so hard to pick just one!:bounce: I really wanted a MK resort since it would fit best with our touring plan. I would have loved to have picked the Poly, but I held myself back. DH & I honeymooned at the Poly twenty-eight years ago. We are saving our stay at the Poly again for our 30 wedding anniversary! But I'm happy now! WDW came through!:bounce:
