Happy Friday Eve!

I am back in Maryland, for a while I think. My driving today is just to BWI with Jessica. I think that I have put over 2500 miles on my car in June. My next trip, and I am flying for this one is to Chicago to visit with special friends.

Hopefully I can get in gear and really start making some plans.

Obiviously, I need to get to this thread more frequently way too much chatting going on to drop in once a day or less:goodvibes

That is even more annoying, you should say you've had your 'freebies' now they have to get organised or it won't be done! We're trying that here, if they don't give us all the info we need we won't do the sample! It gets there gradually!

We have given a few scares - but our boss is promoting fast turn around - however there are some jobs that just isn't feasible for, due to the number of production steps required to complete the job.

Unfortunately, our worst offender is the President's office and you just can't say NO to them.

Glad you made it back home safely.

Yeah, a lot chatting going on!
On the other hand, I really need to draw back and concentrate on work and home life and local friends.

Good Morning Everyone!

Just popping in to say Hi

Have a great loooooonnnng weekend! :)

and they know it.......

Happy Thursday!!!!!

I feel everyone's pain regarding the last minute requests. Not only am I getting last minute requests due to the holiday weekend but also the last minute 'can you get this done before the end of the qtr/fiscal year' request. Like they don't know when the end of the FY is going to be or like we change the dates every year! :rotfl: Crazy!

It went a bit on here yesterday but most days are 2-3pages I think? It is much easier if you keep up, although as I found yesterday I was late getting on the internet at home and there were lots of posts!

Hope your planning goes ok, I think once you factor in the organised bits you won't have much spare time anyway!

Doh :headache: And don't you just know he'll/she'll make the most of it :sad2:

Uh, huh. 'spose so.
But what do I tell the boss? The libray patrons wanting new books? My partner that wants to go for a bike ride? Myself when I know I should be sleeping, but am instead making December vacation plans!

Hey all! Just wanted to let you know Give Kids the World is trying for the grant again this month. Let's vote!

Happy Day everyone! Hoping tomorrow can be a half day of work but not sure yet. It would be nice. Getting into planning mode for the 4th on Sunday. Big get together at my baby sisters house. I'm doing coleslaw and bbq spaghetti. Will need to rub my pork butt with mustard soon. Probably tonight.

Happy Thursday and Happy Canada Day!!!

People in the office are starting to run around like chickens with their heads chopped off, due to the upcoming long weekend. Is it really that big of a surprise? Especially to those who took Friday and Monday off? :confused3:confused3

"Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

If that weren't so long, I would tattoo it on my forehead.

Reminds me of a past co-worker who warned of the 6P Principal. Poor planning promotes p1ss poor performance. Yes he was a hoot.

I know you wouldn't eat such stuff ;)

By the way, I have a new salad recipe for you. It's a fresh spinach salad - do you like oranges and kalamata olives?

You had me there until you said olive. I'm not much of an olive person but I will certainly try it. Please pm or post the recipe Andrea.

Hi Aaron. Have a good one!

You can certainly omit the olives, just gives it a salty balance. Usually, I am not a fan of anything orange, or orange flavored, but, my mother made this salad not too long ago and everyone really liked it. So easy too.

Just wash and dry a bag of fresh spinach. Salad dressing is just orange juice, extra virgin olive oil, salt and pepper. Orange segments and olives go on top of the salad - I would guess you could put in some feta cheese, that would be good, and salty instead of the olives.

Looks like it's going to be a fantastic weekend, weather wise. Nice and hot like the 4th of July should be! We are going to my parents summer house in the Hamptons tomorrow and staying for the weekend. Looking forward to some fun in the sun, fishing, clamming and going on my fathers boat. Maybe I can get some color on my pasty skin. Hopefully the traffic won't be too terrible, but, who am I kidding?

You don't sound very convinced

Just make it look like you've made an effort!

Hey George  Hope you can swing a half day off! Enjoy rubbing your butt :goodvibes

I'm sure you can sub the olives - sounds very refeshing :goodvibes

Happy Canada Day folks! :wave2:

Wow, Karen, I am impressed with your pasta skills! I wouldn't dare try it when I can buy the box for .99 cents at the supermarket :laughing:

My skills are sadly lacking which is why I need all the practise! :rotfl2: Actually the noodles are for DH's favorite weekend lunch, kolo mee (sp?): noodles tossed in shallot oil, hot chilli oil and oyster sauce w/ some meats/prawns & veg. I think the meal is good enough but def not my "favorite" - it's so easy to keep boyz happy :lmao:

My theory on seeing a movie by yourself is that you aren't going to be talking during the movie so why not go by yourself - once the movie starts you won't notice you are alone.

I'll know when there isn't another hand in my popcorn! popcorn:: :rotfl:

nicely played - congrats! :cheer2:

I'm asking for a few prayers and pixie dust for Emilie. She has to have an endoscopy bright and early tomorrow morning. She has been dealing with acid reflux for what we thought was off and on the last few years. But, I'm thinking it has probably been more on than off, and she has just adapted to it. They are going to put her to sleep for the procedure, and while it's a very minor procedure, we'll still a little concerned with the outcome and just the whole experience. Emilie has no fear, and she is very scared about tomorrow.

pixiedust: hope it all goes smoothly, Nicole. I completely understand the concern - I've had it every time I've had to go under. Hope it helps figure out the problem. :grouphug:

Oh, almost forgot.

I just got a $100 Southwest credit on our 2.0 flights. :cool1: :woohoo:

:thumbsup2

:cool2: sounds wonderful - have an awesome time!! :cool1:

Pinch & a punch, first of the month - I won...DH should have known something was up when I got up from the breakfast table to give him a :love2: Silly man :lmao:

Have a fab long weekend all! :goodvibes

cheers,
:flower3:

Hey Everybody! :wave2:

I am looking forward to the long weekend, but I am just hoping the weather will cooperate. We usually host a 4th of July party for family and friends but the storms that Hurricane Alex are likely to bring us may put a damp on that (no pun intended). As long as it doesn't get the BBQ wet, I am fine. :thumbsup2

George, I have always wanted a smoker and your talk of what you're cooking this weekend is pushing me closer to getting one. I wanna be able to rub my butt too! :lmao:

- Bill

It is refreshing! I hope you try it (and like it) :)

Wow that sounds great! Seems like Robert is easy to please, Vinny on the other hand is picky.

All this overtly masculine body grabbing....:sad2::sad2:

I'd rather grab a nap...

Power went out in the library (an surrounding towns) for an hour and a half.
NO COMPUTERS!!!!!

People took it pretty well. Read newspapers, magazines, browsed the shelves for movies for the when the power goes back on.

But I couldn't read the DIS!!!! :scared1:

Whew... power is back now!

Well I just figured out why one of my estimators was in such a hurry. He left for lunch and said, "See ya Tuesday". No big deal, except he took Mon-Wed off this week. And wasn't on the calendar for having tomorrow or half of today off.

Oh well. The office is a better place when he isn't around.
