Hi. We are planning to stay in a one bedroom at the VWL and have never stayed here or at WL before. We've stayed in a one bedroom at the BWV so I know what the room layout is like, I'm really looking for information on the resort itself. What are the views like at the Villas -- can you have a view of the pool? Where are the Villas in relation to the Lodge? How is the food. Do they have a pretty good arcade (the kids really loved the one at the Contemporary). DH and I have been working long hours so we're looking for a relaxing place and plan on spending some "down time" at the resort. Can you take a boat to the Contemporary to take the monorail (I think my family likes the monorail as much as some of the rides in MK!) -- is it a hassle to do this? Any information you can give me would be most appreciated. Thanks!

I think all the views are woods views. You might get a quite pool view. As you walk through the lodge lobby, the villas are to the right. You exit the lobby and walk along a covered walkway to the villas. You will pass the arcade as you do. There is a food court of sorts, plus two other restaurants. We've eaten at the food court several times when we drove over to swim - we are DVC members and can pool hop when it is allowed. I think you can take the boat over to the Contemporary. The pool at WL is very nice. The villas are quiet and you'll have to sit in the Iron Spike Room.

As far as view, I'd ask for pool view or pool side. If you were on the end closest to the pool you could also possibly get a view of one of the wings of the main lodge.

When we booked our first trip at WLV (we're DVC members there) I didn't realize that on the back side of WLV at the end of the hall there are some trash (laundry area) views. We did end up with that view. It didn't ruin our trip, though. Our room was immaculate and WLV is a wonderful resort.

Be sure to try out the rocking chairs in the center area of the villas where the bird cage is at. Those rocking chairs are so comfortable. I would sit in them every chance I got. Simply wonderful - ahh, soaking in the atmosphere of the beautiful lobby and a wonderful rocking chair to boot!

When we were there, the boat stopped at the Contemporary. So, if your kids like the arcade at the Contemporary I don't think it would be too hard to get over there from the Lodge.

Enjoy your trip!

We own at VWL and love it there. Most of the views are woods views - nothing is spectacular exactly, but private and secluded feeling. The villas are just off to the right of the main lodge - very easy walk to the bus stop and not too bad to the dock either. The quiet pool is nice and has a large spa.

There are usually two boat routes - one directly to MK and one that goes between Contemp/FW and WL.

We love it here - found ourselves spending a good amount of time at the resort. Territory Lounge is by far our favorite bar of the resorts and we always have our anniversary dinner at Artist Point - not to be missed.

I'm not sure if there is a map of the villas on this website or not, but I know there is one at:

http://www.wdwig.com

as well as pictures, menus, etc.. (I'm sure you already know about that site).

We find WL completely relaxing, while convenience at the same time. We love it there.

Melissa

Thanks for the replies -- and the link. I had seen a map of the WL before but not one showing the Villas -- it's just what I was looking for! :D
