It wouldn't surprise me at all if what Greta said turns out to be true.
My mom's friend just passed away (75 y/o) and she had grown children that constantly lied to her; usually for money. She would bail them out of jail, pay their utilities bills, wire them money constantly and went so far as to put a house in her name for one of them. They would always claim that they were working and would pay her back soon but she never saw a single penny. One totaled her car twice after drinking but it was never his fault, of course. The stories I could tell.Every single person recognized that these adult kids were scum bag liars except the mom. It was so blatantly obvious that it was painful to all of us but she just couldn't see what any of us would tell her. She was under the care of a psychologist who would tell her every time that she was enabling them but she just couldn't seem to believe this. While I can't believe anyone could be so gullible, it does happen and Cindy strikes me as that type of person.
That story is so sad. It makes me so sad to think that your mom's friend lived that way her whole life.

I totally agree with you, and I hope that Cindy comes to this realization also.
