Trying to help out a relative!!
What building would you request in POP for a family, two parents and two DD's ages 9 & 4?

Also what floor in the building?

Thanks!

The 80's & 90's are the FURTHEST away, tell them not to pick those buildings. The 60's are the preferred rooms. They cost more. I think its $10.00 a night more. We stayed in the 70's and really liked it there. We had a giant Mickey phone at our staircase, and a giant fooseball game in between the 2 buildings. there were 2 disco floors that had lights shining on them, and they played cool 70's music out side. There were also some giant Twister games you could play outside. I dont like to stay on the ground floors, and there are FOUR floors at POP. All Stars only have 3 floors. We stayed on the 2nd floor, so it was an easy stairs hike if we didnt want to wait for the elevator. There is no pool at the 70's, but there is one at the 50's building. The 50's seems to be just as close to the Food Court as the 70's. If they are interested in the pool, Id tell them 50's, We went in January and didnt care if we had our own pool, so we picked 70's and just went to the main pool.. the Hippy Dippy Pool at night. If they want to spend the extra money then they may want to pick the 60's. ( I think you can be just as close in some rooms at 50 & 70's) 70's is decorated outside with platform shoes & mood rings. My girls thought that was great!

I would say the 70s...thats where we stayed....

1) Its close to the food court...and buses...
2) It located between the main pool...and another pool...but a good distnace away from the pool noise!!
3) Though stairs are a pain...a higher level allows for more privacy and less ground noise...
4) If your lucky, you'll get a few of the lake...
4) Whats better then waking up and playing in a life size fooz table!!

The decoration and theming is great!

DH and I just switched our ressies from POR to POP. Your description of the 70's buildings sounds really "groovy". :) What exactly do the 80's buildings have? Do each of the areas play music outside? Also, are there king beds in each of the sections or only in certain ones? I don't mind a walk in the morning or evening, so the preferred sections don't matter to me. We stayed in the Broadway section of ASMus the last time we were there, and didn't mind the few extra minutes that it took to get to the front.

Thanks for your help!

Just returned from POP (April 5 - 10) and stayed in the 80's building. I really wanted the 70's but there were no King beds left or connecting rooms. The 80's theme is a computer pool and 8 track tapes. It was really nice. We had the ground floor right beside the pool and two of the evenings I had to call the front desk because people were swimming and yelling out in the pool well after midnight :( minor inconvenience.

The walk to the main lobby in the 60's building took me approx. 8 minutes cutting across the parking lot. That is also how we went to the bus stops. Not really a bad walk at all. We had connecting rooms because I took my dd and dgs (5 yrs old). We had a king bed (handicap shower didnt need it but it wasnt bad) and they had 2 twin beds. The accomodations were great and the connecting room was so convenient.

Didnt swim in the computer pool but did go and play in the squirting fountains and swam in the hippy dippy pool with the spraying flowers (really fun).... You will love your stay - I am ready to go back.
