I just wondered if any of you have any good ideas of where I can find a play group for my DS 2. Is there a web site? The neighbors around here are my DD6's age and he feels left out already when she gets to play at their house! He has fun when they come here, but understandably they want to have my DD to their house, like now and DS is soo sad at two! Help mom make dinner is not doing it for him.

Could you advertise at your pediatricians? How about the local library?

Are there any mothers groups or organized activities (gymboree) where you can meet any other children his age?

There is Gymboree, but kinda pricey. I do not know how to look for a play group. All the moms I know have bigger kids, not his age!

Our local YMCA and Library both have playgroups for my 2 year old. I think they are 18 months to 3 years. YMCA costs a small fee unless you are a member and the library is free. the library also has story times. All of these are great ways to get to know other moms of 2 year olds and plan outside playgroups, etc.

good luck!

I agree with the Library. Most have story time and that would be a great place to meet moms and kids.

Do you know about MOPS?

you can check them out www.mops.org

I used to run one of the groups here and I have made life long friends through it!

Good luck!

my kids loved the library story time when they were around 2

I used to belong to the local Moms Club. We had meetings monthly and several of us in the same area formed a playgroup.

I was also going to recommend MOMS Club .

I also take DD to story time at the library. And our YMCA offers swimming and gymnastics for kids. :)

That was some great info! Thank you all. We are going to the Library tomorrow, so I will look into story time and these other groups. I knew I could count on you all!

hope you find a good playgroup around your way,we found a great playgroup in our area and were lucky that my little girl and the same children have gone in the same schools so far,we have met so many nice folk through playgroup and i hope you do.

Too bad DS is a year younger and not into playing with anyone other than his toys. We live so close!
