Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

https://disneyparksblog.com/wdw/pla...-entry-at-walt-disney-world-starting-july-24/

The days leading up to a Walt Disney World vacation are always so exciting. For many, it’s a time when families and friends get the chance to reunite and talk about their must-dos while they’re here, including their favorite rides and experiences.
We enjoy hearing from guests about all the things they love, as well as how we can make their experience even better the next time. At Walt Disney World, guests have told us they would prefer to have the option to do more of their planning before their theme park day.
So, this summer we will make changes to our Disney Genie+ service and individual Lightning Lane entry, including new ways to plan ahead.
On July 24, Walt Disney World will introduce new, simpler names to provide more clarity for everyone. Disney Genie+ service will become Lightning Lane Multi Pass, while individual Lightning Lane will now be known as Lightning Lane Single Pass.
We will also be updating Lightning Lane passes to help you:
  • Make Lightning Lane plans before you’re here, for added confidence.
  • Choose your experiences and times prior to purchasing, so you know what you’re getting.
  • Book Lightning Lane passes for multiple vacation days, all in a single day.

Here’s how Lightning Lane passes will work beginning July 24.

Lightning Lane Multi Pass

When you purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you may make up to 3 Lightning Lane selections in a theme park, in advance of your visit. You’ll also be able to choose available times as you make your selections.
On the day of your visit, once you use a selection, check the My Disney Experience app for availability to make an additional selection.

Lightning Lane Single Pass

Lightning Lane Single Pass will work much like it does today, where you can secure a time to ride one of our most highly demanded attractions, but you’ll now be able to make your purchase and plan in advance.

How to Plan Ahead

Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel and other select hotels will be able to plan Lightning Lane passes up to 7 days in advance, for their entire stay (up to 14 days). All other guests can plan up to 3 days in advance.
These advance purchase windows will let guests secure some of their must-do rides and experiences after they’ve had some time to decide what dining reservations they want to book and any other plans they may need to consider.
Guests may purchase a Lightning Lane Multi Pass, a Lightning Lane Single Pass or both. The app will also be updated to make it quicker and easier to purchase and plan, with fewer steps and a new option to purchase Lightning Lane Single Pass and Lightning Lane Multi Pass in one transaction.
Lightning Lane passes will blend features from our current services and the previously offered FastPass+ service, giving guests the choice to plan ahead and removing the hassle of planning during their vacation.
To dive into even more details, visit our website for the latest information on how to purchase, select and use your Lightning Lane passes.
Disneyland Resort will also use the new Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single pass names beginning July 24. Based on the different ways we know guests visit Disneyland Resort, the way guests purchase, select and redeem Lightning Lane passes at Disneyland Resort will remain the same.
The complimentary features of Disney Genie service will continue to be available in the My Disney Experience and Disneyland apps. As you may have noticed, both apps have also gotten a series of upgrades over the last year to make features easier to use, including making dining reservations, mobile food ordering, and more.
We deeply value the trust families place in Disney to create lasting memories and that is why we are dedicated to making updates that improve and simplify their experience.

If you will check in on Saturday May 24, you can book LL on Saturday May 17. IOW, whatever day of the week you will check in, you can book LL on the same day of the week prior.

My LLMP booking day is tomorrow and this is my first time. When I log on to book my 3 LLMP, can I choose my 1 LLSP during the same transaction for that day or are they 3 separate transaction? TIA!

Yes you can make a single purchase that includes your 3 LLMP selection and up to 2 LLSP selections all in a single transaction as long everyone in your travel group is included for the 3 LLMP selections and your up to 2 LLSP selections.

Not sure how you get to 3 transactions, did your mean 1 or 2 transactions?

Just f/u on my post to say everything worked great and we were able to get what we wanted. Although most of our wants were in the afternoon or evening, there was lots of morning availability. Thanks for all of the help with our first time with the new process!!

I apologize in advance if a similar question has already been answered somewhere in this thread. We will be debarking from our Disney cruise and heading straight to Epcot so I am anticipating a park arrival closer to the afternoon. Would it work for me to schedule a throwaway tier 2 LL as early as possible in the morning to unlock additional tier 1 after the first scheduled LL time has passed? Or do I need to physically tap into a ride first in order to book another? Any advice or suggestions for the best strategy would be greatly appreciated!

You have to tap in to an attraction to remove the park and tier restrictions. Having a Tier 2 expire will not allow you to book a second Tier 1.

Hey, folks! I have read several pages but I have three questions I still can't quite answer.

First, if I make a LLMP reservation for a particular ride, I cannot make another reservation for that ride that day using LLMP, correct? If I want to ride Soarin twice in a day, I can do it once using LLMP and once just waiting in the regular line.

Second, if I purchase a LLSP for one park, can I purchase a second one later in the day for another ride in another park? For instance, I could get a LLSP for Tron, and once I use it, I can purchase a LLSP for Guardians. It seems like I can do that for LLMP, but what about LLSP?

Third, I am traveling with my husband and two teens who I am sure will sometimes go in a different direction than the adults. For the app, should they all be logged in with my credentials on their own phones?

Thanks!

1. Yes, you can only do each ride once with LL. The exception is if the ride breaks down during your return window and you get a pass valid to use on it (or something else) later in the day and in that situation the system will actually let you book that ride again
2. You don’t have to tap into your first LLSP
to book the second one. You can book both ahead of time but you can’t purchase any more after that even after using both the ones you’ve purchased. LLSP has a limit of two per day
3. I don’t think it really matters honestly. As far as LL goes, just make sure if they have their own accounts that they’re linked to you as family and friends

1- correct, you can only use LLMP once per attraction per day. You'd have to do standby for Soarin a second time in your example.
2- you can purchase up to two LLSP per day. You can make the purchase at the same time in advance of your trip (7 days in advance if you're on-site at a WDW resort). You don't need to wait to book a second one. You'll obviously need a park hopper to do what you're asking. When you purchase LLMP, you can also purchase LLSP for the same day at the same time. After you make your selections for that day, you'll check out, pay, and then move on to another day you want to buy....
3- I would highly recommend you all have your own account with your own login and your own tickets, then connect via the Friends and Family option. It will make things so much easier in the long run. If you wish to have family members use your login during the trip, it'll probably work fine, but it's not ideal. We used to do that years ago, and finally got the accounts separated!

Hope some of this helps!

Yes, one ride per LLMP attraction, per LLMP. Any additional rides would be standby.

Yes you are able to purchase up to 2 LLSP per day, and the 2 can be at any park.

If either of your children are 13 or older, they can have their own MDE Account profiles, and you can link them to your MDE Account.

So Tron AND Dwarves, or Tron AND Guardians, but not Tron twice. Got it.

My travel agent told me to get everyone on my account, but I wasn't 100% on board with that. Good to know they can get their own profiles and do their own thing, and if they get kicked out, they don't need to contact me to log in again.

Hi, I've been reading but haven't seen the answer (I saw the same question on another page but no one answered).
1. I have a split stay; can I book the entire length of stay on day 1?
2. I have a 9:35 am ADR (must do - I've been able to push it from 9:15, but not further yet). Will that keep me from getting a 9 am LL at 7 days out? I feel sure I can overlap day of, and if that's the case (day of) is it 12 am or 7 am?

If you have a consecutive split stay at a WDW resort, you can book LLMP/LLSPs the entire length of stay - day of check-in through day of final check-out....

An ADR should not prevent you from booking a LL in your situation. We did receive warning messages telling us we had conflicting/overlapping activities during a period of time, but it didn't prevent us from scheduling or modifying.

Not clear on your last question about overlapping day-of at midnight or 7AM. Beginning 7AM ET 7 days in advance of your resort reservation, you can book and modify LL selections. You can add/modify anytime after. If you're wanting to do something "day of", it would be midnight.

I was reading that initially the LL would not let you overlap much until day of. I was just wondering if the time was 12 or 7 am to modify and overlap. Thank you for your reply, it's very helpful!

It would be 7 AM for the day of your park visit when you can start to modify to provide more LLMP attraction overlap if return times are available.

The new Little Mermaid and Disney Villains shows will open May 27th at DHS. Will LLMP or LLSP be available for either of these? Neither are showing up on thrill-data yet.

Yes, one ride per LLMP attraction, per LLMP. Any additional rides would be standby.

I'm abit confused. Is LLMP not like the old Genie+. For instance, if I book Pirates/Peterpan/Buzz as my 3 selections. Can I not pick them again later in the day once I've used them up(pending availability of course)????
