Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

Would rather not pay for a ride she can’t ride but am mindful that breaking this up into two steps per day may mean we don’t snag things fast enough (spring break trip). Thanks!
As @Dave006 said, yes you have to do separate transactions if the selected guests are different, but it's really not that dire. You won't be at any serious disadvantage by making two separate transactions as long as you are organized in advance and don't dawdle.

How far in the app can I get while I wait for 7:00? It doesn't look like I can refresh any of the pages. Do I need to start at the purchase page at 7 am and then select date, park, type of ticket or can I select date and park and refresh at 7:00 for type of ticket?

Any recommendations for park hopping with LLMP? Is Hollywood Studios the hardest park to hop to due to lightning lanes being sold out?

I'm also interested in the answer to this. Anybody know?

EDIT to say that I booked my initial LL selections this morning at 7am. At 6:59 am I stepped through the date page and the park page, and selected my ticket types. Then at exactly 7am, I hit "continue" on the ticket type page and everything worked from there.

It's possible that you're able to refresh on the "who's included" page, but I didn't want to chance it.

Hi, I tried to read back through as much info and strategy as I could but this is a long thread so I apologize that I'm sure this info is in here somewhere! I'm helping my brother's family prepare for their 1st trip. I've been a few times, but not since the new LLMP/SP system was introduced.

They're good ropedroppers, and they're also getting LLMPs each day and most of the LLSPs. (I think all but SDMT, which they'll ropedrop) They're staying on site at the Beach Club. Their booking window starts tomorrow.

1) What happens if your earliest LLMP pick is down during your window and you get an anytime pass? Are you instantly able to book your next LL (ie opening up the other Tier 1 rides for choice)? Or do you have to wait until you actually tap it at your next LL?

1b) How often is Remy working during EE? Our last visit was right after it opened, so it was down a lot! I'm trying to help them figure out the best strategy for ropedropping and whether it makes sense to RD Remy (coming from international gate) but risk it being down, or book Remy for later in the day and RD Frozen instead.

2) Are you able to book just your tier 1 LL for a day, close out the day, move onto another day, repeat, etc., then come back to each day and fill in the Tier 2 rides? Or do you have to pick all 3 rides before closing out a day?

3) What seems to be the best timing strategy for booking LLMPs and LLSPs? Their order of parks is EP, AK, MK, rest day, HS, MK. (no hopping). The priority rides are GoG, Tron, FoP, SDD, and Tiana. They'll also be booking RotR, although that's lowest priority because we have it at Disneyland. What should be their order of operation?

4) I think I read that two people can be logged in at the same to work together. Do these have to be separate accounts or can it be two people two devices but one account? I have to decide if I love them enough to wake at 3:45am to help.

Thanks!

Yes you get an anytime Multi Experience but you still need to tap into one of your actual LLMP attractions to unlock the Tiers and Multi Park hopping.

It is normally pretty regular operation or it is on an odd occasion it may be down. Yes you should RD Remy since you you will not beat the crowds to Frozen for RD.

You don't want to purchase that way. It is harder to get your 2nd & 3rd LLMP times in order. Do all 3 at one time, and they are held for 5 minutes to adjust your return times and complete a day's purchase.

Will they be on-site guests with the 7 day purchase window? It is somewhat dependent on when you visit how crowed it will be? Holiday or major holiday vs just a normal week. However MK and HS are the most popular for LLMP. For SDD book that day first due to it's popularity, and then MK for Tiana for 1 of your MK days.

Yes you want separate MDE accounts due to the 5 minute hold time to complete the purchase step, and also different purchase methods. Just divide up the day assignments.

Yes you should help as long as they don't blame you for any LLMP that you are unable to grab at that very early hour!

I know @Dave006 answered but I wanted to chime in here - if the ride that went down was a tier 1, you would be able to pick another tier 1 but if it was a tier 2 ride you would only be able to pick another tier 2.

I just booked twice for days more than 7 days from now, I'm only getting 2 oclock and on even though when I go to modify it shows earlier...like 9:30 am earlier...and for almost every other ride as well. Whats going on...I have zero overlap I cleared both days completely for this

edit: Rookie mistake it's too early in morning I forgot to make park reservations. Can they please just get rid of AP reservations already!!

I’m sure this has been answered but I can’t really find it by search. If you have a reservation, then go offsite, how does that work? So if we stayed on site Saturday and checked out Thursday to go offsite, could I still book my LLMP on the Saturday (7 days prior to check in) for the Friday we will be offsite (would be offsite Thurs/Fri).

I honestly don’t think we will end up doing this, but it was just kind of a thought for trying to save a little money. I could use points offsite. Most likely we will probably do what we usually do and just do two value nights and five deluxe.

I'm trying to follow your question! You're wondering if you stay Th/Fr offsite, and then on site Saturday, when can you make LLMPs? If so, you could book for Saturday/Sunday (check-in and check-out days) 7 days in advance. You could book Thursday/Friday 3 days in advance. If that's not your scenario, then I just told you something that's not helpful!!

Sorry for the confusion. I didn’t quite know how to word it. My onsite stay would be Saturday checking out Thursday. My offsite would be Thursday and Friday. Could I book for Friday (offsite) on the original 7 days before my resort stay begins?

So if I understand correctly the biggest different between the Lightning Lane multi pass, and Genie+ is just that you can make reservations sooner and actually buy it sooner? Opposed to only being able to buy it once you arrive to the park?

That's one difference (you could actually buy G+ 7AM the morning of your park day). Another is you can hold a max of 3 LLMP at any point. With Genie+, you started with one, but could technically book/stack more than 3 for later in the day (by booking every 2 hours). With LLMP, you can book another after you use one.

Forgive me if I am overestimating your confusion, but Genie+ no longer exists. Comparisons between Genie+ at WDW and LLMP at WDW are between the former system and the current system. If you did not understand Genie+, don't bother trying to learn about it. Just figure out how the current Lightning Lane systems work.

See post 4290 on page 215 for a prior discussion of this issue.

This happened to us last weekend. We had Pirates booked early and it was down. It didn’t automatically convert for us so we stopped at a GET umbrella and it took about 5 minutes for them to give us the anytime pass and unlock our ability to book our next LL. Timing was important because it allowed us to get Remy for that evening.

Yeah I know Genie+ is gone. I'm asking because this will be our first time using LLMP for the first time. So I just wanted to know the main differences between the two. I keep seeing people preferred Genie+. but from what I have seen at least on paper it looks like LLMP may be better. I like that you can book rides up to two weeks in advanced (I'm a DVC member) , more than anything I want to see what rides may be better to rope drope and save a lightning lane to ride a second time later in the day.
