Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

I have been able to overlap 20 minutes or so but not more than that.
There is quite a bit of confusion when anyone quotes an overlap. Some guests consider a 20 minute overlap as a 40 minute overlap. It is really relative to the guest's view of what they are considering an overlapping time.

I would like to take advantage of the drops at 45 minutes after the hour before we arrive at the park at 10, and wondered if it would let me pick one up (or even see it!) if it overlapped too much with an existing LL.
While you can't get an additional LLMP selection for Tiana's you may be able to modify your existing Tier 1 or one of your Tier 2 selections. You can only have 1 Tier 1 initially until you enter the park and actually tap into your first LLMP which will unlock Tiers.

Does that make sense?

Didn't realize this could be interpreted different ways!! For me, 40 minutes of overlap means 40 minutes where I could do either LL! LL#1 at 2:00-3:00, and LL#2 at 2:20-3:20. So from 2:20-3:00, I have 40 minutes of overlap!! I've missed the interpretation issue! So thanks.

Yes since this thread started the have been a couple of situations where guests are only look at the start times. So in your examples the LL start times only overlap 20 minutes.

I agree with you, that you have a 40 minute widow to enjoy both attraction and that's how I view it also.

Question: after you’ve used up your initial 3 LLs can you book multiple new ones at the same time if you haven’t booked any other LLs yet or do you have to book individually? I’ve noticed that at 3:47 every day SDD, TOT, TSM, and MFSR release LLs for between 4 and 5. My plan is to save up my 3 so I don’t have anything booked and then at that time book all 3. But since they’re only released for times in the 4:00 hour (from 4:00 in 5 minute increments up to 4:55 it appears) I’m worried about overlapping issues. I think if I can book all 3 at the same time it’ll give me times for each one that I can for sure book (like maybe it’ll automatically give me the options of SDD at 4, TOT at 4:25, and TSM at 4:50 or something like that). But if I have to book each one individually they might be gone by the time I can get what I want. Does that make any sense? 😂

No you can't make 3 additional selections all in a single transaction, The 3 initial LLMP selections are the only ones handled as a group where you have 5 minutes to complete you initial transaction.

So yes the clock and competition from other guests is against you if you try to time all 3 additional selections to a drop time. You would be better served just selecting additional LLMP selections 1 by 1 are you tap into your first 3 so that you always have a possible list of 3 LLMP selections at all times.

Thanks! Also I’ve thought about the possibility of using multiple browsers or tabs (when booking at the 3 days) to more quickly lock in some of the hard to get rides/times. Those times are locked in for 5 minutes right? Is there any issue with using multiple tabs/browsers? Also I’ve started bringing a backup phone (without a sim or anything) on my trips because on one Disneyland trip my phone was really close to dying and wouldn’t charge so I was almost stranded… because of that maybe I can use my 2 phones to try and more quickly get SDD/TOT/TSM. Any issues with trying to book different rides on different phones at the same time?

LLMP and/or LLSP don't work in a browser. It is only in the MDE app. If you are trying to use 2 different devices for the same MDE account it will not work for the initial LLMP booking since you are trying to hold 3 LLMP selections for 5 minutes to complete a transaction per day.

Yes it will not work for the same individual using 2 smartphones sharing the same MDE profile trying to book different things at the same time.

Normally for the single travel group you would use 2 MDE accounts that are linked in Family & Friends list in both MDE account profiles on 2 different devices for different park vist days.

I know that I can make my LLSP and LLMP reservations 7 days before my onsite check in day, for up to 14 days.
I also know that for this, split stays are recognized as one stay (unlike ADRs).
When can I make our LLSP and LLMP reservations for day 15 and beyond?
We are doing 5 nts BC, 5 nts WL, 5 nts SSR, 5 nts CR, consecutively.
We have APs.

I had so many trips last year and now I can’t remember. If I am an AP holder and have Epcot as my TP reservation but want to book HS rides for the evening do I book HS as my park, book the rides then move the park back to Epcot?

My booking day is tomorrow.

Thx Dave!

Oh wait I want to book GOTG that morning so do I keep Epcot, book GOTG morning and HS for night?

You can just keep your Epcot reservation - no need to change it to HS for booking.

You only need a Park reservation for the first park you enter. Epcot for you if before 2 PM. You are still able to book your LLMP and/or LLSP attractions any park.

The only restriction on LLMP is that the initial 3 must be in the same park. For LLSP you only limit is that you are able to only purchase 2 LLSP per day, and they may be at different parks.

Not going until January but had a question about LLMP. From what I understand when you book 7 days out of gives you all the available times, correct? What about when you use one and want to book another? Does it give you all the available times, or just the next available time?

I’m thinking of prebooking for our 6th day SDD, ToT, and TSM for hopefully 9,10, and 11 (not sure if that’ll work for SDD). Then looking to book what we can for the evening at MK. Just wanting to know if you can pick your evening times out of what’s available or do you just get one time (like it was last year and have to keep modifying to later).

Not exactly, it returns time based based on earliest available time, and leaves 1 hour between your 3 selections. You have 5 minutes to adjust your time selections before you complete the purchase step.

What about when you use one and want to book another? Does it give you all the available times, or just the next available time?
Yes once you use your first selection, you are able to search for other available attractions, and by default it returns the earliest available time, and you can then accept it or chose a time later in the day or even in the evening. Based on LLMP return times availability.

Hi all! Are they still really lenient with when you return to the lightning lane for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind? Previously, I know you could arrive hours late. Is that still the case since they removed the virtual queue? I wasn't sure if that impacted the LL. Thanks so much!

I saw an All Ears video which said you’ll still scan green up to 1 hour and 59 minutes after your LL expires (that’s not just for Guardians but for LL in general) and that’s consistent with my experience, although I haven’t been in a couple years. They were very lenient with VQ return times for Guardians and even if you scanned blue they’d still let you in but I don’t know if that was the same for LL. I’d definitely do my best to try and make it on time just to be safe

As of a week and a half ago yes. We were many hrs late for our LL GoG return time. It flashed blue, I started to explain why we were late and the CM stopped me and just said oh no worries, your good to go.

Not that you are intentionally planning to arrive many hours late for your scheduled LLSP return time but yes since you paid for an individual LLSP for GotG the CM will let you through the LL tap point.

However is it considered rude to other guests that were able show up during their return time window. Late arriving LLSP guests may impact wait times in the LL queue. The same issue tended to happen with the VQ return time abuse.

hi! I promise I tried searching this but can’t seem to dig up an answer: I’m seeing that you can do your LLMP and LLSP in the same transaction for your whole party but… what if you have one that doesn’t need some of the SP? My youngest is 3 so she needs a ticket, but she’s too small to ride 7DMT, TRON, GotG, etc. My older (9) will want to ride them, as will DH. I know about rider swap and am good with that, but how do I/can I unselect my 3-year old from the LLSP purchase? Or do I need to do two separate bookings, one for the LLMPs for all of us and then another for the LLSPs that only includes the three of us?

Would rather not pay for a ride she can’t ride but am mindful that breaking this up into two steps per day may mean we don’t snag things fast enough (spring break trip). Thanks!
