Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

They will limit what LL times you can book. I dumped my lunch ADRs the day before booking LLs and picked them after booking LLs- although it was a quiet time during Sept so don't depend on being able to get yours back. After booking LLs you can book ADRs at anytime of day, the rule only goes one-way (LLs won't overlap with booked ADRs but ADRs will overlap with booked LLs).
Gotcha. Thank you!

I was also able to modify within the time from of my LLMP
Yes you are able to modify your LLMP selection(s) during your return window. However we always suggest that if you are trying to keep your travel groups LLMP selections in sync to modify or make additional selections at the same time for all members of your party.

If you don't need or want to keep everything in sync then you are able to modify at any time before a LLMP selection expires. Just a reminder the process tends to confuse some guests since you pick the attraction, modify your selection and/or time, and then select which members of your party to include in the "Modify".

I am getting ready for our trip in Feb 2025.
I have watched few videos on YouTube.

Let's say I tap in at the first attraction and I am eligible to make another selection. The attraction I want only has a very late time option (let's say 9pm.)

1.What are the chances of me picking that time slot and modifing during the day and actually being able to get a much earlier time? I remember with genie plus I was able to always get a ln earlier slot if I kept refreshing during the day, but not sure if this is the same with MPLL. I know you can modify, but my question is about the likelihood of that happening with the new system

2. Also, if the ride I want is sold out, how often do they become available or that is pretty rare?

Thanks

I'm assuming that LL windows, like the former FP+ , are an hour long. So you can't have a LL window from 1:00-2:00 if you have a lunch ADR at 1:50? Disney doesn't trust you to get to the ride before 1:15, be done by 1:40 and still have time to walk to your ADR (especially if it's Jungle Cruise, then Skipper Canteen; or Haunted Mansion and Liberty Tree Tavern).

The answer to all your various questions is maybe but no one can give you a percentage or even a range at this point. Are you going anytime near President's week?

Most guests have been reporting that by refreshing a LLMP they have been able to get an earlier time. We should have more data after we enter the busy season with the new system.

As an example could you provide a Park, attraction, and how many guests you want to try this for?

Also, if the ride I want is sold out, how often do they become available or that is pretty rare?
It will depend on the attraction, how busy the park is that day, and how many guests you are trying to modify. We have seen reports that some guests have not been able to grab attractions like SDD or Frozen for example by modifying later in the day. Again we should have more data after we enter the busy holiday season with the new system.

I apologize if this has already been asked! We are going with family, but they are arriving 3 days earlier and staying at a different resort. We are all linked on Friends and Family and have tickets. Would they be able to buy multi pass for all of us 7 days ahead of their check in date or should we wait and book everyone 7 days before ours so we can be sure to get the same times? Thank you!

Nope they can only purchase for guests on their reservation Friends & Family links don't play in this situation.

They could always book for the days that just they will be there ahead of your (3) days. And then you work with them to book days when both groups are to book. Again only 1 person should book for a specific day so plan to split the overlapping days if more then 1 person is booking LLMP and/or LLSP. Does that make sense?

Depending on how many there are arriving earlier and the sleeping capacity of the room they could be added on to the earlier reservation. If there are more than two adults there would be an extra charge per night though.

This is limited and would only work for Room Only (RO) reservations. It is not possible on Packages. Not really work the risk vs any limited reward.

Thank you! That does make sense! We are DVC and they have a package so we’ll keep everything separate. I handle the planning for the overlapping days so should be straightforward then at least! It would’ve been cool to get a jumpstart though haha!

We are going the week before presidents day, which is not as busy.
Family of four, we are going to all parks ( 7 day ticket)

Should not be a issue initially but as the week progresses crowds will start to ramp up as you get closer to the holiday Monday. I would suggest you plan to front load you trip with your must do attractions and then as the crowds build you should expect to have less additional LLMP attractions beyond your 3 pre-selected LLMP for a day for high demand attractions.

You will also have a few days of live practice refreshing to grab high demand selections. Focus on refreshing to Modify lower value LLMP attractions and always keep 3 selections in your LLMP list. You can also put your top 3 favorites on your My Day tab to make it faster to filter the park list.

Is there any advantage to having a LLMP for Festival of the Lion King? Back in the day of Fastpass we always felt like we got better seats if we had a FP. With Genie+ it didn't seem to make a difference. What is the consensus on whether or not it's worth using a LLMP selection for the show? I feel like we all drift off and have a hard time paying attention when we're put in the back (especially the kids), but if we're toward the front it's a lot of fun.

Yes as long as you arrive at the return time for your LLMP you will have the "main" viewing area vs filling in on the bleachers. If you have been to it multiple times recently maybe you don't need to burn a LLMP on it.

Thanks Dave.

As far as burning goes, we're probably going to end up with a few "burns". It's a two week trip with extended family and some of them are staying off site 🙄 so I'm twiddling my thumbs while I could be booking our LLs but instead I have to wait until everyone is in the three day window.

Now I am wondering if LL purchasing will work as I've been expecting for our May trip- my family arrives several days ahead of my sister's family. I have been planning to do our LL purchases 7 days out and then the same for my sister when their 7 days out hit and just hope to get decent overlap.

Here's my new concern- my family consists of three rooms. I was thinking that because they all have reservations that start the same day as mine and we are linked as friends and family in MDE, I would be able to do them on my MDE. Is this the case? Or do I have to repeat the process with all three MDE logins for my crew's three rooms?

It can work but you really need to focus on overlapping times within your return window and by not trying to match the start times to your exact return window start.

Yes you can book for all guests that have the same resort stay start time at the 7 day mark.

They don't even need to be at your resort. But you need to confirm that you have everyone linked in your Friends and Family list and that you are sharing plans with everyone that has a MDE account (they may manage additional members under their MDE account).

Is it possible that you could share the LLMP and/or LLSP initial scheduling with another MDE account holder? That would make your booking day a little easier as you could book for the first group of your travel party and alternate days or divide your park days and have one person do the first part and another focus on the second part and book at the same time.

For the group that arrives at a later date you would do the same process again but it will take a little longer as you spend your 5 minute window that LLMP selections are held to try to get any overlap possible. If you have 2 people working on this it should make it easier for each of you to focus on overlaps on a per day basis.

Does this make sense?
