Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

I thought I'd read somewhere you could play around in the app and get a feel of what it looked like to purchase ahead of time, but if I click to buy for today, the next screen is pick your party and none of us are able to purchase bc we don't have tickets until next month.
As far as you can go is the page stating the date when each person will be eligible to purchase. If you want to see how it’s done, watch some YouTube videos. A number of bloggers put out videos showing every step from purchasing to using LLs.

gah that was such a pain... my older I Phone could not handle the IOS16 needed for the latest update... so I retreated to a newish IPad which somehow although up to date and with a freshly updated App still was not working. I could pull up an option to purchase the multipass-LL and the ILL, but it somehow grayed out my entire window of availability (Oct 27-11/1).... so I could get nothing past oct 19 on the October calendar.... but for some strange reason I could go to the November Calendar and make reservations for the week of Nov 1-7.... when I am not there anymore.... sigh I had to call guest services and do it over the phone.

So stupid... I had a phone, a computer, and an Ipad all running My Disney Experience and still had to call on the phone to speak to a CM to make my ride reservations.... which I was able to easily, but still.... what a crappy system. Needless to say I was not impressed with the newish 7 day advance LL....

Sorry for your troubles!

I know your experience left you not a fan of the new system, but imagine if you ran into all of those issues at 7am the morning of your park day 😵‍💫 I would’ve been more of a mess!

the funny part, last year at this time I had no issues at 7am, or the year before,,, same phone and all. Got all my VQs blah blah. Similar the past April 23. Not sure if it was me or just the app having a morning.... Does make me a bit nervous for using it day of in the park, I am not going to walk around with an I pad. I have had decent luck so far , so bound to have at least once with issues I suppose....

Perhaps it is a scheme to make me buy LLPP... I have been tempted as our last park day without MNSSHP would be Oct 30 for Hollywood....

My iPad also has been showing no October dates beyond October 19 until this morning and now I can see the entire October calendar.

I don't know if this is because (1) we have now reached October 20, or (2) the fact that I recently updated the app.

A couple of questions I'm sure you guys can answer for me.

1. Two families wanting to ride things together so when booking LLMP can 1 person choose rides for everyone (all are linked on MDE) and pay for 1 family's part with one credit card and pay for the other family with another card? Instead should we just pay for all with 1 card and figure out what the other family owes the one booking?

2. Help me understand when some in the party do not want to ride. We plan to book all 6 of us for all 3 of our selections just so everyone has the opportunity to ride together just in case some that say now they won't ride change their mind after we get there. Say we book ToT for 6 of us and then 3 of the 6 decide not to ride but instead go grab a snack (so them waiting in line with us and tapping in won't work). Can we just modify the selection and cancel those 3? Would that affect any of their future selections? Should we instead have everyone make their decisions about riding before we book and only book for those that will ride? Is it an option for us to take their magic bands with us and tap in as we go with them not being present? As long as all 6 of us ride the first selection of the day would any of the rest of this matter?

My LL window opened yesterday. Using my iPhone 13 I had no issues. I only wanted one day of multi-LLs and three individual LLs but I was able to book everything I wanted at the times I was looking for first try. So far it gets my vote over Genie+.

I am so sorry if this has been asked and answered- but we have a 7 day spit stay booked December 1-7. Will we be able to purchase and book Multipass for the entire 7 day trip - 7 days prior to arrival on December 1st? Thanks for your help!

Yes LLMP and/or LLSP don't care about split stays as long as there is no break where you are staying off-site. You will be able to book for your entire stay on November 24th.

Just make sure your Payment choices are updated in your MDE Account profile in advance and that you have an idea of what you want and when you want it. You also want to double check that everyone is linked in your Friends & Family and you have tickets assigned properly.

You have 5 minutes to adjust your return times before you need to complete your purchase on a day by day basis. It is harder to make adjustments after you purchase but before your "day of" park visit.

Thank you so much for your help! We will definitely make sure to double check everything before the 24th!

Epcot was fairly busy today. Touring Plans expected a crowd level of 7 and it felt like every bit of that.

LLMP came in very handy. I was able to use it on all the following attractions:

Booked 8 days ago using my 7+14 for resort guests:
Living with the Land (My first LL, tapped in a little after 10:00 am)
The Seas with Nemo & Friends
Frozen

Booked same-day as I used my LLs:
Soarin’
Journey into Imagination
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
Spaceship Earth

LLs were also available for the other attractions, had I wanted to do them. Didn’t try for Guardians as I’m hit or miss on enjoying that ride, and didn’t want to chance it today.

A lot of people say LLMP is not needed at Epcot, but today I felt it helped a lot. I tapped into the park at 10:00 am and left by 8:00. In that time I was able to do all the rides I wanted, plus shop around WS, catch several live entertainment shows, eat a good table service meal, relax a while in World Celebration gardens, hit up a couple food & wine booths, and see a Billy Ocean Eat to the Beat concert. All in all a very good day. I’m really liking LLMP so far!

If I book LLSP for Rise and it is down during my timeslot, what happens? I read somewhere that I have a hour within the time it is next available to use my LLSP but I don't know if that is old information.

Someone remind me what the interaction is with ADR’s and LLMP again? If I have a breakfast ADR at 10:00 AM, does that mean I can’t make my first prebook LLMP until 11:00 AM? Something else?

I believe you will get an “anytime” experience pass and can go back and ride it when the time works for you. Happened to us back in March.

Did our first LLMP today for our trip starting Oct 29th.

It was interesting. I have an android phone, so no issues with the app other than it kept wanting to send me to my final day of our trip (nov 3)

It does seem like there's an interaction between ADRs and the LLMP as it wouldn't let me even look at some time periods and I think it was because of the ADR.

I think based on this initial time, I like the old system better of Genie+

I did it for HS and that's all. Epcot didn't seem needed (no rides really and we'll rope drop Remy), I'll do VQ for Guardians.

AK we'll rope drop and head to Everest and Safari, then perhaps do a single LL for FOP. Haven't decided yet on that one, but again, not quite enough rides that I felt it was needed for LLMP

MK we're going to the halloween party on the 29th so I didnt't feel it's needed and maybe I'll hit up MK again on the 31st, I'd expect a light crowd being a party day.

what I've noticed the most, honestly, is how few rides there really are or at least seems as if there are.

Multi Pass
In general, I am not sure how much Multi Pass can overlap when initially booked? From what I have heard, they do cannot overlap similar to FastPass+. I have also heard they can overlap once you edit them on the day of the park visit (Midnight). Obviously, better times for a given may not be available at this late in the process.

Single Pass
Say if I have already booked my Multi Pass LL. Can I overlap any Single Pass Lightning Lanes? For Example:

Magic Kingdom - Multi Pass Example
9:10am - Haunted Mansion
10:10am - Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin
11:10am - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

Can I pull a Single Pass for Tron at 9:30am? Or, would I be forced to do 12:10pm or later?

I don't believe you can split the payment up, so I would just plan on having whoever is booking pay and the other family pay them back afterwards
2. Help me understand when some in the party do not want to ride. We had this issue when we went in August as my youngest is too short to ride some rides. Honestly, it was a pain, since I didn't realize that I wouldn't be able to cancel or modify his LL once we were in our return window. There's a possibility that it's been corrected since then, but if I were you I'd probably make the LL for everyone, and try to get them to make a decision before your window opens. I'm booking my LLMP for our MK day tomorrow, and I plan to book everything for everyone, but then cancel anything I know my younger son won't be able to go on.

@accm is correct that you can't split purchases for a day. What you can do is split who pays for each individual day that you purchase LLMP and/or LLSP. You should also plan to have 2 payment methods in your MDE Account profile before your purchase date. For anyone making purchases for LLMP and/or LLSP selections, please make sure that you can see all members of your Travel party and their ticket status before your purchase date.

Say we book ToT for 6 of us and then 3 of the 6 decide not to ride but instead go grab a snack (so them waiting in line with us and tapping in won't work). Can we just modify the selection and cancel those 3?
Yes you can modify / cancel for select members of your travel party. But you must make this change before your Return window starts.

Would that affect any of their future selections? Should we instead have everyone make their decisions about riding before we book and only book for those that will ride?
Yes there is a possible impact if you get members of your travel party off schedule for making additional LLMP selections. It is really to complex to make these decisions before purchase and then needing to keep modifying the travel group for each initial LLMP selection. The MDE LL Purchase process prompts you to select your travel party early in the LLMP and/or LLSP before you select your up to 3 selections.

Is it an option for us to take their magic bands with us and tap in as we go with them not being present? As long as all 6 of us ride the first selection of the day would any of the rest of this matter?
Yes or you could just stop and tell the CM at the LL Queue what you want to do. If you all 6 ride the first attraction that just unlocks the Tiers and Multi Park features it does nothing about further selections for members of your party where they chose not to ride.
