Pizza by the slice spinoff - smaller (more or less) individual-sized pizza trend

We have MOD Pizza in Seattle and go often. I like they have unlimited toppings. They must be expanding as I saw them in Houston and Milwaukee when we were traveling last year.

I'd probably seen them before, but the first time I really took notice was when I was returning home from a business trip through Portland International Airport and saw the prices at their Mod Pizza location. They were about the same price as a non-airport location, and someone here noted that the airport mandates prices competitive with businesses outside the airport. However, I already ate at McMenamin's Kennedy School before arriving at the airport.

Not sure who was the first, but there are a lot of similar concepts with primarily one size (I would never consider Mod Pizza's mini) and asking for toppings like specifying burrito items at Chipotle or what to put in Mongolian BBQ. It's a copycat world out there.

You feed 10 people with an 11" pie? A large 18" pie is 8 slices.
10 humans? no. 10 mice? maybe

An 18" will feed DS, DH and myself., with one or two pieces leftover.
I didn't say that an 11 inch pizza is enough to feed 10 people. I am saying that 11 inch pizza is what restaurants call extra large that feeds 10 is.

I get 2 extra large to feed a family of 4. Growing up, we just got a large pie and it fed a family of 4 back in the day.

I still feed a family of four on one large pie by ensuring a substantial salad is on the table too. Means a little kitchen work but worth it when I look at the health and financial benefits. Still the same diameter pie that offers 8 slices.

We have & Pizza, Mod Pizza, Pieology near us. We went to Pieology last weekend and split a pizza and wings for lunch. They now also have Keto crust. I'm looking forward to trying that next time. :)

If your local pizza place is calling 11" extra large.....I would be skipping the pizza place and would be making my own.

One local pizza place has medium (14") and large (16"). https://www.zomato.com/jacksonville-fl/joey-mozzarella-orange-park-jacksonville/menu

Another does 14", 18" and 24", small medium and large respectively.

Even Blaze pizza calls their 11" a personal pizza. Their shareables are 14".

The Abbondanza - 26" pizza

We don't get this anymore because it is really hard to eat such a large piece of pizza.

I would buy that just for myself, LOL. I see lunch for a week and a half out of that. However I don't see a price for that, just the 16 and 20".

My opinion is that is the size a pizza should be. Different sizes will cook differently and smaller ones are never cooked properly.
