Pixie Hollow id Dead!!!!

:lmao:

Yes, that is an issue.

Speaking of that area though...on that other magical wdw forum, there was a lot of discussion regarding the major bottleneck between Peter Pan and IASW...there's been some rumors that maybe the IASW entrance could be totally re-arranged.

The entrace area is actually a separate unit from the main building, as you can see here:

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=disney+world&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&ie=UTF8&hl=en&hq=Shades+Of+Green&hnear=Shades+Of+Green,+1950+Magnolia+Palm,+Orlando,+Florida+32830&ll=28.420665,-81.581941&spn=0.001861,0.001773&t=h&z=19

The idea is (maybe) they would move the entrance a bit off to the back area between the old skyway and the side of the ride, although I think that could also potentially effect the Pinocchio House restaurant.

Either way, I think something should be done in that area, because it really does get very cramed sometimes.

Does anyone want to guess what the sitework is about between the road and the railroad tracks? It looks like the same type of earth-moving equipment being used where (presumably) Ariel is going is being actively used there as well.

Ducktales Land would be awesome! They should have a land for all those Disney Afternoon cartoons i.e. Ducktales, Darkwing Duck, Tail Spins, Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers, Gummi Bears, etc.) That would be pretty sweet, and much better than any variation of PH.

The Really scary thing? I can think of a hell'ova fun ride from the Gummi Bears. Anybody else remember the old tube's they used to get around? I remember being a kid and thinking that looked fun.

If they make the tube out of gummi and then you can eat it after the ride, they'd be onto something!

Before I address Figment632's post, I want to say that he does, for the most part, know what he's talking about with this stuff. There have been rampant rumors for about a week now about PH being RUMORED to be dead - Not 100% dead. Saying that implies that it would have been announced by Disney that they aren't moving forward with PH, which they haven't done yet. Rumors have also grown about a possible frontierland expansion over the same time period. I just wanted to make sure it was understood that it is still (legitimately) rumored to be canceled, not confirmed yet. Everyone needs to just pull in the reins a little and get off his back. I understand the skepticism, but there are certain people throughout the Disney Online Community that are known as insiders and are trusted and they have confirmed that it is not happening so just take it for what it's worth.

TSI could be one of two things one being just plussing the current theme the other being a Princess & the Frog D-ticket and Restaurant. The plot behind it would be for a new E-ticket.

That's not exactly true. I think I know exactly where you stumbled upon this rumor though. I read a post talking about something like this last week (although not in rumor form, just wishful thinking) on WDWMagic. I know you post there (or at least used to) so I assume that's how you came upon it. The poster was _Scar and I actually found the exact post it originated from:

I so wish they could somehow pass Princess and the Frog into MK.

Tiana's Place could be a killer restaurant (Tiana's restarant in the movie) and there could be a cute dark ride. The movie is practically made for a classic dark ride.

Basically people were just brainstorming possible ideas for Frontierland before that and he just suggested this. Of course, a few other people said "Hey, that's a great idea" and then it turns into a rumor.

I'm not sure about the tink to the skyway rumor and the validity of that. I haven't really heard much of the usual insiders really say to much about that quite yet. The people that i've heard talk about it have all been in the past week and are more of the average poster so i'm not sure if there's any legitimacy to it.

Lee said Spaceship Earth would be "finished" and that the blue triangles were a precursor to something more grand. He has been wrong.

Regardless, Pixie Hollow bit it.

I know who Lee is. Like I said, I know who a lot of the insiders are in the Disney online community. If it's true than i'm sorry, you're right. First however, I would like to see the post where Lee states this. I post over at WDWMagic on a regular basis and haven't seen him say that.

So are you saying that SSE is finished? I find that hard to believe. I think they either gave up on, or dramatically pushed back what they were planning to do with the ending.

No, he's saying the opposite. He's providing an example of where Lee has been wrong in the past by saying they aren't finished, even though he said they would be

Unless Lee said exactly when they would be finished then he might not be wrong ;)

Sorry, I was playing devil's advocate for a minute

The ride opened to the public in 2007 with the current scenes and narration. It is now 2010. It is finished. Further, I took the time and effort to annoy Siemens, Disney, and the executive offices on the matter the first time the "lets say it'll be done later and use that as a stop gap for complaints until people forget" brigade was out putting out fires. The official response? It is finished.

Most people it seems were of the opinion that the FLE was not a mistake, as investment is good, but not were they should of been investing at this time. Build a boy centered land and girls will want to still go. Build a girl land most boys will not. With Universal Studios building Harry Potter Land which has proved successful Disney needs to react. Pixie Hollow is not going to pull in the numbers as it will divide the demographics in 2 (more or less ;) ). My family both boys and girls want to go to Harry Potter Land. I showed them the FLE the boys are adamant they do not want to go in. The girls are still girlie girls and want to go. Its a balancing act but they went too girl centric if this was launched with a more boyish rides it would work. In its current form for me its change.

I looked at a couple of the threads that the OP posted, and it sounds like it is indeed being thrown around from several well-known "insiders" other than Jim Hill so it sounds like it's at least a substantial rumor and not just hogwash.

I'm personally a little relieved to hear this rumor. I LOVE Tink. She's great, and she definitely deserves her own meet and greet and even a small attraction. (Using the old Skyway and its garden for a M&G as people have suggested seems perfect too!)However, when I first heard about the Pixie Hollow area, I cringed a bit. My entire family, male and female, young and old, has always found something to love in Mickey's Toontown Fair because of its use of the classic Disney characters. To replace it with a land dedicated to a brand new series of direct-to-dvd movies just didn't feel right. It's simply not a good investment. What if, five years from now, that franchise has played itself out and Disney is stuck with a land that people no longer care about? This is NOT an attack on the Tinkerbell franchise at all. I think it's an adorable concept, and Tink is one of my favorite characters. I just think Pixie Hollow needs to prove its longevity before Disney builds a whole mini-land dedicated to it.

The Fantasyland Forest I can get behind because it involves characters who have proved their success and longevity. Cinderella, Aurora, Belle, Ariel: we all know them. Plus, several of the characters are DUE for their own attractions...Beauty and the Beast (my FAV Disney movie ever) and The Little Mermaid have been around for TWENTY years and they are JUST NOW getting something of their own that is more substantial than Mrs. Potts' Cupboard and Ariel's Grotto. I'm glad to hear that Ariel and Belle's attractions will definitely see the light of day no matter what. :thumbsup2

And the Frontierland aspect of the rumor, the possibility of using the money saved from Pixie Hollow to expand Frontierland, sounds AWESOME. Let's keep Toontown and expand Frontierland! :woohoo:

I will be interested to see what all of these rumors amount to in the next couple of months. popcorn::

I couldn't agree more. DD is 13 and DS is 7. I have not ever seen either one of them even remotely interested in the fairies......although DD did want to go to the Fairies M&G this year, at least until she saw how long the line was. I just don't think the fairies are that big a deal.....

I am very excited about the LM ride, the Fantasyland Forest, and the B&B stuff! Beauty and the Beast is also my favorite Disney movie.

Being a grown-up tomboy, I would love to see an expansion of Frontierland, although that area is already near and dear to my heart. DD really likes Frontierland also, but she and I used to watch the Fess Parker Davy Crockett DVD.

I think that they should consider revising the PH plans for Neverland. They could still have all the fairies there and could also have some stuff for little boys with Hook and Peter Pan. They could also put in a Neverland play area..that would appeal to both sexes.

That would be wonderful, much better than PH (and I'm saying that as someone who is disappointed to hear PH might not happen, my girls love the fairies). Instead of an area themed to a relatively new franchise, they could make it revolve around a classic and give the boys some Peter Pan, Lost Boys and Hook along with giving the girls a nicer place to meet Tink and her friends. Unlike PH, Neverland will never go out of style.

He was right TDO didn't spend the $$$$$ I have seen the plans for SSE.

I showed them the FLE the boys are adamant they do not want to go in. The girls are still girlie girls and want to go.

As a little girl, I had zero interest in pixies, fairies, princesses, or any of that stuff.

I was into villains
I can still remember being afraid of Peter Pan, but I ran into Captain Hook's arms - :)

As a woman, I still have zero interest in pixies, fairies, princesses, et al.
The original plan fit a specific, and most likely small focus group. They definitely need to expand the net.

I'm coming to this party late... but there seems to be some key information missing...

While I did not look at the sources (slap my hand), all it sounds to me is that PH is "dead" at MK. It was reported over a month ago that the Fairies are being moved to a different park once Toon Town closes in 2011 (no room in Expo hall as originally announced). Based on the recent discussions on this new location, perhaps Disney would rather place PH permanently in their new home, instead of moving them back to MK in two years??

Instead of assuming the fairies are gone, it would be more productive to discuss their possible relocation. I'm personally excited about their new location... I hate them stuck back there in a circus tent.

Oh, really. Please do tell us more about what their new location will be like and where it will most likely be built.
