Pixie Hollow id Dead!!!!

If PH is gone then I blame Universal and Harry Potter. :rolleyes1

For years Universal has been portraying Disneyworld as a place for little girls and Universal as a place for thrill seekers. The Harry Potter expansion vs the Fantasyland expansion just proves this point. Maybe Disney has realized they need to shake things up a bit?

I won't believe anything about the Fantasyland Expansion, rumors, official news, etc; until I am actually standing in the middle of it when it is all said and done. They will change their minds so many times that your head will spin!

As someone who lives in Los Angeles and is able to go to DL WAY more than WDW (sadly) I have been able to see the PH here. People truly seem to love it. It is fun to walk around even when the fairies aren't there. As a matter of fact that is the only time we will go. The lines are FAR to long for the meet and greets. We love to go at night when things are lit up and take pictures in front of tink's house and sitting on the toadstools. I have no opinion either way on the building of PH at MK because I don't know that area all that well, so I just wanted to give a Cali natives knowledge of an existing PH.

This sounds like a really cool idea. I think it would fit well there.

Those of us who were mentioning the other fairies were reacting to this:

And I would strongly disagree that Tinkerbell is the only popular fairy.

Go to your nearest TDS backroom is full of the other Faries.

Your sure eh? You seem to know soooo much about WDW.

Very well put. I second that motion. Your arrogance I can suffer through put c'mon loose the attitude...it is Disney we're talking about here and we're all on the same team. :flower3:

Don't believe me It is on every other Disney site and I trust my sources. Infact maybe I will go backstage tonight and do a little peaking. Read some of the links I posted. Also like the other person you are defending I don't care if you don't believe me.

Like usual this place is the last to have the story I didn't see it so I posted. PH is as deas as Ariels Grotto and that God awful Pooh Playground.

I was thinking the same thing. Not knowing anything about Harry Potter I assumed it was geared more towards a male demographic. And if that is the case, Disney is taking a real gamble saturating the park with Princesses and Fairies right now.

Bingo but don't give my bosses at TDO any credit they are morons. These changes come from Burbank.

The bottom line is Disney will do whatever is best for the bottom line:rotfl:
And guests have spoken with their wallets and want more M&G's, more personal interaction, or "life experiences." I am sure current plans could change but I think there will be a place for this somewhere in some capacity.

Sea World is expanding Discovery Cove and offering more expensive tours and such as demand outstrips capacity currently. Consumers are willing to pay more for a better experience and Disney is entering this market (look at Golden Oak).

I certainly don't think PH is dead but it is kind of funny, my kids brought my attention to this thread by saying "Some kid is reporting the sky is falling at PH":rotfl2:

I am not a kid but go ahead keep hoping for PH hope is good.

I'm coming to this party late... but there seems to be some key information missing...

While I did not look at the sources (slap my hand), all it sounds to me is that PH is "dead" at MK. It was reported over a month ago that the Fairies are being moved to a different park once Toon Town closes in 2011 (no room in Expo hall as originally announced). Based on the recent discussions on this new location, perhaps Disney would rather place PH permanently in their new home, instead of moving them back to MK in two years??

Instead of assuming the fairies are gone, it would be more productive to discuss their possible relocation. I'm personally excited about their new location... I hate them stuck back there in a circus tent.

Disney thinks the Skyway is an excellent idea for a Meet and Greet - in fact, a very extensive price estimation was made several years ago to figure out how much it would cost to transform the location and bring everything up to code. The final decision - too much money.

They do, however, continue to use the ground area (stroller parking) for special meet and greets as no one is physically on the structure.

They just recently reconsidered that location for a Rapunzel meet and greet as well... again... too much money.

Of course, creating an entire themed Pixie Hollow as originally announced is no cheap task, so perhaps that funding will finally be realized and the area will be transformed!

Initially, the first phase was announced to be completed in 2012, with Pixie Hollow to follow in 2013.

Great post, always love your insight about the characters.

I am not being sarcastic as I truly don't know the answer but I thought that PH was an elaborate M&G did it include rides and such ?

I think that Harry Potter is geared towards both boys and girls. After Hermione is certainly a girl.

I wonder about these rumors though. I'd love to see Disney do something unexpected and cutting edge but who knows? None of this is for sure from what I've seen so we'll just have wait and see.

Yes but most likely the other three M&G's will still be coming and Tink and Faries will be getting a M&G in the FL Skyway station near PPF.

My DD LOVES Harry Potter so I totally agree that it is not gender specific. And off topic as a former Frisconian relocated let me just say never move no matter how wonderful an opportunity it seems!

The skyway area is pretty small isn't it? If this happens I hope that it doesn't lead to even more congestion.

So if they are still getting a M&G then what is changing, if it is location why would people care ?:confused3

I was in there last week there is a ton of room for the Faries and here what it has going for it.

1 It is right near PPF
2. It is raised to allow for forced perspective and the shrinking effect.

It is just a M&G not an entire sub land like PH was alsp Phase three called for a faries dark ride that will not happen.

Pixie Hollow was going to be some big deal -- some big interactive fairy thing. Now it sounds like they're getting the equivalent of Minnie's house, if that.

All things being equal, I'd rather see another e-ticket-level attraction such as a thrill ride.
