Pirates closing!!!

You might take your son to The Pirates dinner theatre in Orlando to make up for the Potc closure.....My grandson is also a huge pirrate fan aswell...I think the new additions will be great

is there some link where i can read why they are closing the attractions ?? for example, I'd like to know why they close typhoon lagoon for 2 months

greets from snowy cold germany ;-)

WDW has two water parks, and during the cooler months neither gets enough attendance to warrant having both open at the same time.

I can't believe this attraction will be closed through July 7th. That's Horrible :furious: I don't mind that they're doing it, but over prime summer months is inexcusable. That is ineffective planning.

Pirates will be open over most of the Summer. I suspect the alternative would have been to have some other major attraction be closed over the month of June. The rehab schedule is based on keeping as stable a pool of labor as possible, rather than wasting a lot of money having a lot of people idle.

REHAB NEWS 2/2/06: Captain Jack Sparrow to Join the Audio-Animatronics
Crew of Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean Attraction

Pirates of the Caribbean, the classic Disney theme park adventure brought to the big screen in "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl," is adding new characters and features from the blockbuster entertainment franchise and debuting when the next adventure begins in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest."

Both the Disneyland Resort in California and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida will close the attraction in March to complete the updates in time for the opening of "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" on July 7. The attraction will reopen at Disneyland on June 24 and in Florida's Magic Kingdom on July 7.

The attraction will feature the addition of two of Hollywood's most infamous buccaneers, Captain Jack Sparrow and his nemesis Barbossa. Joining the wildest crew that ever sacked the Spanish Main, Captain Jack and Barbossa add an exciting new twist to the attraction's original storyline as they race to be the first to claim a cache of plundered treasure.

:confused3 my son loves this ride.. we bought him a poc telescope after the ride and he still plays with it, we lost it in the parks and mgm sold 1 in a villian store . he will be sooo upset, we have a tradition of the safari ride this ride and then splash mountain,,,

That is what we are hoping for too. Very disapointed. I almost changed my trip , but DS has so many baseball tournaments, then off to college in Aug, so that is about the only time we can go. :confused3

Yeah, it's sad when an attraction like this has to close for refurb. Pirates and Haunted Mansion are mainstays at the parks and it's almost impossible to think of a trip there without getting to experience both rides....buuuut, the change will be good. I trust that WDI will do a great job and we will have something new and better to look forward to.

Maybe you could plan the pirate adventure cruise out of the GF for him. My son and his friend did this last year and loved it!

Vickey pirate: :yoda: :chewy: :ewok: :darth: ::MickeyMo :earsboy: ::MinnieMo pooh: :eeyore: :smickey:
