the picture on line doesn't do it justice but joann fabric has this awesome--preassembled--quilt with 9 blank squares--comes with special marker/crayons to write with then iron over it to make it permanent. the fabric is sooooo cute--little skull and cross bones, with red/white stipe accent--back fabric is like a treasure map. i'm going to have guest service have the characters sign it--an awesome keepsake! it's a little pricey but i think it will be better than buying an overprice sweatshirt on the boat (we did that last time! )

I love love love this idea!! I just wish there was a way to just transfer paper or something for the blank squares instead of the entire quilt!!

I saw that before and thought the same thing, I "THINK" they have them in princess material too.. I could be mistaken but thought I saw them near there! Cant wait to see the pics!

OK...now I just saw there is a princess one too! Might have to get one for each of my kids!! DS (4) and DD (6)...they'd love it! Put their individual pictures with the characters and also have the cast members sign it....

Thanks for sharing such a good idea. I purchased two of these one for myself and one for our friends who we are traveling with us on the Ship of Thieves cruise May 2008, panama canal. I plan on doing it with photos of the trip and transfering with photo transfer paper onto the blank squares. I think this will make a great Christmas gift for the following year .

We went on an eleven day dcl cruise with them last september . I made table runner quilts that time in a tropical print and did photos in the squares. That was pretty easy to do but this time , its going to be a cinch.
