Pillow on Airplane?

I was thinking about bringing a bed pillow as a carry on since I will only have one carry on. Does anyone else do this? Is this normal or funny looking? I just want to get some sleep on our 3 hour flight!

We take them sometimes it's also nice to have your own pillow once you get there as well.

I took mine - I can't sleep on anyone else's pillows, mine goes with me everywhere. SW made me stow it during takeoff and landing, but there weren't any problems taking it.

We have 2 of the small Mogu pillows. DH puts one in his carry on and DS puts the other in his backpack. Not quite as cumbersome as carrying a full size pillow.

Thanks for the idea, jackskellingtonsgirl... I actually have one of those mogu pillows with a back massager in it that will be great to bring along (not only will it be a nice pillow on the plane but after a long day at the park as well!).

I always take my regular bed pillow with me, it is more comfy and I prefer them once I get there...I have a thing about using other peoples' pillows...odd I know...it usually has to go through x ray and checked out but that is a small price to pay for comfort and safety.

I take my own pillow with me every time I travel, whether it be in the car on a plane, etc. I find hotel pillows are never fluffy enough for me. I don't care how silly it looks. If I don't get good sleep, I am not pleasant to be around.

Good idea! I wish I had had one last month on our flight. My DS,3, slept the whole flight there and back. He looked pretty uncomfortable. We had to prop him up with our jackets. A pillow would have been nice.

UPDATE

I brought my pillow and was VERY comfortable! Although I was only able to nap for about 1/2 hr. on both legs, it was comfy to have when I rested and even when I read. Thanks for your posts! I highly suggest bringing your pillow and saw others who brought their's too!
