Pickle part III

You can probably imagine how much I'd want to go to that school and kick them in the shins....with a nice cowboy style boot!!! :furious:

You've never heard of yard ape? lol Some might be offended by it, but it's a term of endearment here. :)

I just spoke to Cass about the incident. She told the teacher and vice principal that she has no appetite at lunch because of her medication. I asked her what they said, and she told me that they just said, okay and she went back to her classroom. Then, I guess they called me. This is not the first time this has happened. I've had so many meetings with the school and the guidance counselor about my daughter and they KNOW about her issues etc. At this point, I can't even be civil about it. On top of that, she is a picky eater. I can't force her to eat raw veggies. She hates them. Fruit is a hit or miss. The school is nut free, so that limits us even more. I'll gladly pack her full lunches and when they come home rotten, I'll send them the bill to reimburse me. Last year, hot lunch for the week (three days) was $15 most weeks. She never ate any of it. Did the teacher inform me? Nope. My sister is a teacher there and she told me about it. She said over half of the kids don't eat their hot lunch. They have 20 minutes to scarf down their lunch and then they are shipped outside to play. Does that make any sense at all? So many parents have complained. I give up. I'm glad that you "get it". Some truly don't and that makes my head spin.

Nope, I've never heard of "Yard Ape" but I love it. It totally describes my 2.
I totally get the food issues. Fortunately, our school nurse does too. She actually went "Mama Bear" on the cafeteria ladies last week when they told Chris he couldn't have juice or water with his lunch anymore, but had to have Lactaid milk. She also told him to come find her if he ever had ANY problems with getting what he needs at lunch. I:lovestruc her. Now, her sub, who called me at 2am when I was visiting my Dad in Hawaii, because Martina had sunscreen in her eye.... (after Martina told her she was fine, but to call Daddy if they had to call someone, cause Mommy was in Hawaii)....Let's just say I don't like her as much!

Now that just gets a big ol WTH?? from me. 2:am? Hello!!?!? Anybody in there?!?! I would have went ape all over her sorry butt. Seriously.

Schools are rarely good places - wish I could have home-schooled. Had several friends who did - very free home school, not home classes. Learning and education is the world around you etc....most of those kids attended to Ivy League Colleges or other top colleges: Harvard, Brown, Lesley, BU, BC, Providence College etc.

School is not always the best place for our children....more of a necessary evil.

I loved alll but one yr of grammar school, mostly hated high school, loved college. 11 schools in 12 yrs can do that to a person. ;)

Yep, that would certainly do it. Mark moved around schools, too, being a PK. I hated grade 9 through 12. Absolutely the worst years of my life. :(

Guess what?! It's raining. Shocking, I know.

PK? I was a military kid...but my parents would not live on base, so we lived in a normal neighborhood where I was the least "normal" kid on the block, being military. Let me tell you, regular neighborhoods do not like military families. :sad2:

Raining?? I'm shocked. :rolleyes1

Oops sorry. A preacher's kid. :)

Military haters!

DUH..Should have known that one. :thumbsup2

They would not let me their kids (as teens) have anything to do with me unless I went to church with them!! A Catholic going to the Church of the Nazarene?? What the heck.. I went. Kid was a snob though. Signa....never forgot her name.

Signa? That's a...different name. I had one of those friends growning up. It used to make my mom so mad.

Well whadaya know, the sky is blue today! I slept hard last night, once I fell asleep. I haven't done that in years. I didn't know who I was or where I was when Mark woke me up! I seem extra tired this morning and a migraine is brewing. Think this one is going to be a doozie. Better make a pot of coffee instead of having a cup.

Hope the weather cools off a bit.

ONE MORE SLEEP, KATHY!!!! Weehoooooooooo.:banana::cheer2::banana:

Good Morning!

Glad you had such a good night's sleep, but hope the payoff is not a terrible migraine. When I have one brewing I hope for clouds so the sun isn't so bright...then every blind does not need to be closed. Hope it doesn't get full blown and you have a comfortable day.

I am sooo sick. Feel pretty awful - up and dressed but dreading having to move an inch. Do not want Mia to take any sick time b/c she needs it all for my Dr and pre-op app'ts. No idea how much sick time Michael has, but she would want to to take hers first anyway, so I've got a conundrum. What to do? Nothing...just get my act together and go downstairs at 9 - praying Sophia had a good night..but what I'm hearing from down the hall doesn't sound good.

Calgon take me away!

If I get a migraine, I'll just deal with it. Drink lots of coffee and pile the pills into me. The curtains are closed already. I'm sorry you are sick. I shouldn't complain. I'm sorry. At least I have the liberty of crawling back into bed, although I do spend most of my time there anyways.
I hope Sophia is in good spirits today. You should be able to say, "hey, I just can't do it today" and see if Michael can take the day off. How are you going to feel tomorrow? Most likely worse. I hope you will take the time on the weekend to just stay in bed. You don't need to be running the roads!

No reason for you to be sorry! Michael is only good with her for short times - like if she tries to drink from a real glass and it drips down her shirt, he will say, "Look what you did" Instead, "What a good job. It's okay, it just dripped a little. Good job."

Mia offered for her and Michael to split the day, but I told her I'll talk Sophia until nap time, then they can share the afternoon. Mia's lunch is at 1 so she will likely take her from 1 to 3 ish is my guess, then he'll take the rest of the afternoon until 6.

The thing is with him is that when Mia gets off of work he acts as though his "job" is done and leaves!:confused3

I must stop complaining about him - not good for my inner peace  - gets me too worked up!! :headache: :rotfl:

Feel better!!
p.s. high of 91 here today..where's Fall????

Well, I'm glad that you have your day worked out with everyone. Make sure to completely veg out today. Put yer cowboy boots on and kick that man in the shins. Or maybe Mia should. hehe I hope Sophia is in a better mood this morning. :lovestruc

I need to venture out this morning and I really don't want to go. Oh how I wish we had a Target here. Sigh

91 huh? :cloud9: Ahhhhhh. Just perfect. The sky is clouded over now and the wind is picking up. They are saying rain this afternoon and for the weekend. Big surprise there!

Oh boy. I just had to grab some saltines. I almost hurled for some reason. I hightailed it to the bathroom, but it went away. :sad2: How odd. And no I'm NOT pregnant!!!

Good morning, Pickles. I just wanted to stop in and say goodbye because I don't know how much time I'll have today (been working since 7:15 this a.m.). Hope you all have a nice couple of weeks. I'll drink a toast to all of MY PICKLES while we are at the Dig Site pool. :wave2::wave2::wave2::wave2::wave2:

Yeah....well, she didn't believe Martina when she said Mommy was in Hawaii because Tutu Pa fell off a wall......I wasn't to happy.

I hated HS too, but LOVED college (could be why it took me so long to graduate)
I had 3 good friends in HS, but otherwise was MISERABLE, but in college, I made REAL friends, and finally fit in. I was soooo happy, and didn't want it to end.
Good Morning!

Are you SURE you're not pregnant? You ARE a pickle and you like ice cream.....
