Photographing Pets

Thank you, she is my heart and soul
I found her while doing volunteer work for the local shelter. Someone had abused a poor pup SOOO bad ~ she had cigar burns all over her tummy, her tail was broken in two places and she was enemic due to too many flea bites and starved.
She also had 2 broken ribs.... she was only 4 months old.
She was SOOO terrified of people she would just cry and shake and run to a corner when anyone came near her. I went in to feed her, spent 2 minutes and she leaped into my arms ~ and hasn't left my arms since!
It took a TON of work to get her where she is today, emotionally and physically. She can still be nervous around large men BUT never reactive or mean. She gives the most pitiful pound puppy eyes and lays there waiting for the guy to hurt her =(
Luckily we don't see that abused China very much anymore! She is very happy sprawled out on our couch or in bed with me! Due to her only going to me for the first 2 years of her life ...err..lets just say we are extremely close and she is my constant companion. I know she has had a wonderful 12 years and only the first 4 months sucked for her ... but honestly she isn't getting any younger and these days worry me :sad1:
Even now as I am typing, her head is on my foot :lmao:

That brought tears to my eyes, too:(China is one lucky girl she found you:goodvibes I just don't understand how anyone could treat an animal so poorly:mad::mad:

Count me in among the teary eyed.

Even just from her first post.

You can really feel the love between the two of them.

Awesome. :cloud9:

This is our baby girl keeping an eye on things from our balcony......

China is a very special girl and you are a very special person for taking her :)
I like to think that people that hurt animals will get whats coming to them! They make me so angry

Thanks everyone for the kind words about my China girl.
She is the sweetest soul you will ever meet :goodvibes

Now on to her *little brother* :rotfl2:
He is a year old this month, another rescue. He is a total goofball and cracks me up at least 3 times a day with his foolishness :lmao:
He was taking a little break under a bush and I snapped this shot ~ maybe not the best shot but it speaks to me :thumbsup2

It must be nice to have such good dogs. Mine is a little monster! Thank goodness for Vet Insurance. The little rotter isn't even 2 yet and she's been in for surgery twice and is, as I type, on her way to the vet because she got into a box of chocolate chips and ate close to a cup. Stupid mutt...

I'm sure she'll be fine... :rotfl2: (Mine eats chocolate all the time!)

Yeah she's doing fine, had to get her stomach pumped but it was less than $100 which is a pretty considering it's usually $300-$400 every time we walk in that door. I swear that this little dog is bound and determined to have a short life.

Oooo fun thread.

DH and I are owned by 3 cats, I'll start with the oldest.
This is Shelby, he just turned 11 at the begining of the month. He's been going to the vet alot lately too, he has a very bad infection in his mouth and came close to dying but thank God we caught it in time.

Next is Penny. She is our sweet girl who gets her little nose into everything. This is her on her favorite blanket.

and finally our youngest Milo. I think I have more pictures of him then any of my others, he's such a ham.

Here is one of all 3. They all just love an un-made bed :lmao:

Here is a shot I just came across taken when we first brought Nali home back at the beginning of March. This is my Mom's reaction after Nali gave her some big kisses.

I need to take some current pictures so you all can see how she has grown. She's entering the "Husky awkward phase" where her legs and ears appear to be growing faster than the rest of her body. Kind of funny, actually.

Great shot Todd! That should be framed and somewhere where others can see it at home

Very beautiful eyes! I love husky eyes!

Here is a photo of my cat sasha I took yesterday ... yup having tons of fun with my new camera :lmao:

She wasn't *into* sharing her treat :rotfl2:

Just wanted to share some photos of my gorgeous cavalier Ruby. I got a new camera a couple of days ago so I've been trying out all the settings :)

Ruby is beautiful, Butterfly.

So what settings did you like best and which was your favorite picture?

Took some quick shots of Sadie and Nali today on my lunch hour to share.

I think Nali is noticeably bigger than the last time I posted

This is Sadie's way of saying "I'm warning you... stop messing with me"

Followed by "That's it! It's ON! And I'm not even going to take the ball out of my mouth for this smackdown!"

O.K. girls, play nice

Note that no dogs were hurt while I was standing by snapping shots ;)
