Why is there always such a long wait for Peter Pan's Flight?

I mean, it is a cute enough ride. Sure it is a classic. My DS enjoys it. My DH & I like it.

But EVERYTIME we go, there is always a 45+ minute wait for it.

I just dont get it!

I like the storybook rides. They are fun for adults & kids.

Poor Snow White...There is her ride just sitting there with hardly ever a line. Seems so sad.

Then you go around the corner to Peter Pan & there is an hour wait, and Pooh the other way...Well forget Pooh without a Fast Pass.

Everything else in Fantasyland could be a walk on, but Peter Pan & Pooh ALWAYS have a wait!

It's because of the way it loads and the fact that it isn't really a big ride. I never wait more than 20 minutes for it, but the lines can get humongous.

DD3 is obsessed with Show White. She thinks she is Snow White. But she rode the ride in September and when we went back in Feb, she refused to get back on it. She said, "No, Snow White's ride is scarey!"

Pooh takes awhile because it's pretty new, and because of how it loads. Peter Pan takes awhile because of how popular it is, and also because of how it loads (it may be on a conveyor belt, but the boats are so small that it gets a long wait). The best bet is to ride these 2 rides FIRST THING in the morning. Otherwise you get those long waits. Also, sometimes right at the end of the day is good too (usually during the summer or later closing days).

Sadly, we always need a FP because the line doesn't move that fast. However, we did go right when the park opened and hopped right on. :)

It's also always long because, like Pooh and "wait and hour for a 30 sec ride"-Dumbo, they don't have anything scary in them. If Snow White didn't have the Witch, I'm sure it would be packed too. Small World tends to do better because of the number of seats in a boat and the fact that parents will avoid it because of the annoying song that will be drilled into your head for the next several hours.

Hey! I enjoyed Small World during our trip in January. We rode it at least two or three times.

Errr..well...that's my memory of it. I was in a neck brace and on some prescription painkiller for most of that trip.

Oldtimer, the sig about appliances is cracking me up!!!!!!!

I get a HUGE Laugh everytime I go to WDW and see those commercials.

thanks alot! now i am humming it's a small world in my head. i love it's a small world too and plan on hitting in on my upcoming solo trip. yes i have seen it tons of times but for me i love the different dolls, and in the summer, i love the escape from the heat. i see what the OP means though, i never understood the long lines at peter pan or pooh. i thought i was missing something (never been on either) but maybe it is just the slow ride loads.

It's so funny that other people find that interesting/frustrating. I love Peter Pan, I truly do, but I refuse to wait more than 20 minutes. Last year, my mom and I waited 40 minutes WITH A FASTPASS!

I either go on first thing or during Wishes...and I (shamefully) admit, I have skipped it on short trips. I try to get on the staples each time, but I can't do it every time.

I think that it is popular because you are hanging from a track overhead instead of riding in a standard card on the ground. Small difference but I think that children get a kick out of it.

And who doesn't like flying over London? That's probably my favorite part.

I only do it on slow season when there is no much of a wait or if I decide to go for a fast pass because I've ridden everything else.

We always grab a pass for Pooh, and then run right for Pan.

(You know, after reading that, that just sounds strange.)

It is sort of a simple ride, but most of us who visit WDW seem to love it. I refuse to ride Peter Pan without an FP, though. The wait is always just too long.

Peter Pan is one of our family favorites too! :thumbsup2 ALL of us love it! But we won't wait in a long line either. We try to do it early or late too. We have been known to get the fastpass for it and then go to Columbia Harbour House for lunch (one of our favorites), by that time, it's usually time for the PP fastpass. ;)

:rolleyes1 in all our trips weve never been on Peter Pan because of the wait, this next trip it's a must do because ya know we might go back for a while........ :confused3 :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Peter Pan's Flight is my favorite ride in all of the Magic Kingdom. I love to fly over the story and pick out all the parts. It is classic Disney at it's best. Sure, no loops, spins or scary monsters, but it is a great ride.

This is my favourite, we have a tradition on our first morning, breakfast at CP, then onto DD's choice of attraction, this year it's Snow White, then onto mine always Peter Pan then round to DH's Haunted Mansion .... I will not wait more than 20 mins for any attraction... I am sorry but as we travel in Sept/Oct there is no reason to do it.... just time it better (and avoid MK over Columbus weekend) and we manage to do this attraction many times. Pooh is similar but if we don't do it, we're not heartbroken.

For me was a great ride, but my kids & I enjoy the movie so! HOWEVER, I couldn't believe the massive line & wait times! When we went it was Monday 10/3, MK was fairly crowded & I didn't get over to grab at FP for Peter Pan until noonish, our return time was 4:50-5:50 p.m., I couldn't believe it! We ended up grabbing a FP for something else (I think maybe Splash) and riding that before we did PP.. But, it was well worth it, and with the FP, I think we were on in about 10 minutes, that compared the 60 minute standbye line time was GREAT!
