Great idea! Thanks for putting this together!
We have stayed at Fort Wilderness many times and put our dog in the kennel there. Since she is getting older, this is just too hard on her - and especially hard on us! We stayed at the Comfort Inn LBV and The Embassy Suites LBV, both pet friendly. These were for last minute, short trips and we only went to Epcot. We would leave her in the Epcot kennel and have them walk her several times and we would check on her once during the day. This was easier for her as she got to come back to the hotel with us. I had heard that Epcot no longer offers the pet walking service. The following is a report I posted on this board regarding our stay at the Embassy Suites - I copied and pasted it below. Hope this helps.
From our November 2005 trip:
My dh and I just got back from the Embassy Suites LBV. We booked it the day before we went there and were traveling with our dog, short notice. Normally we stay on-site but since this was short notice, we did not have a petsitter and had to take our dog with us to a pet friendly hotel. A few months ago we did the same thing with our dog but stayed at the Comfort Inn just a few buildings away. We liked the Embassy Suites much better. It had a bedroom/tv, small kitchen/bar, with fridge, microwave, table, and had a separate living room with a sofa/bed and its own tv. The breakfast was pretty good, not the greatest, but very sufficient - bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, french toast or pancakes, chocolate and white milk, coffee, juices, soft drinks, bagels, toast, english muffins, cereals, fruit, and donuts all from the buffet - which is what we did. You could also get made to order eggs, and pancakes. There was lots of seating. The managers reception had beer, wine, mixed drinks, sodas, pretzels and/or popcorn - no other food offerings. The Embassy Suites also has a Pizza Hut Express and Starbucks in the lobby, which we did not use but could come in handy. (The Comfort Inn did not have any of the above.) The Embassy Suites is also a member of the Hilton Honors group, and they sent 2 bottles of water with a nice note to our room. This hotel is right off of I-4, and you could not be any closer in your room to the interstate! When we first checked in I did not think the noise from the highway was noticeable but at night when trying to get to sleep - oh boy! It was extremely noisy with horns, all kinds of motor sounds, sirens, etc. I always travel with earplugs and a white noise machine and it is a good thing because I would have not gotten any sleep without them. I think there are some rooms that don't back directly to I-4, so you may want to request one of those rooms. Also, the hotel is in a great location close to Disney but traffic in the area is VERY VERY heavy. The hotel and room were clean and everyone seemed nice enough. We did not have any problems so really did not have many interactions with the staff. We like staying on-site at WDW better and being part of the Disney magic 24/7, plus I think the deals are better at the value resorts. But have no complaints and would definitely stay here again with our pet. Hope this is helpful to you.
