Yes. In fact, that's what many people do to avoid potentially damaging their everyday devices. Some popular phones are the LG Fuel ($30 at Walmart), ZTE Concord II ($20 from Metropcs.com), and the Kyocera Hydro ($15 refurbished from boostmobile.com). I have 10 Fuels running 24/7 for the past few weeks with no problems at all.

Do you have 2 accounts? I have 2 for Swagbucks (hubby and I) but just 1 for perk. do you have any idea how much electricity you are using having them plugged in all the time? Just curious.

My wife and I both have accounts with 5 phones each. I learned about PerkTV on Redditt and someone had done the math on electricity usage there. I think it came out to something like 25 cents per phone per year or something along those lines. Basically nothing.

I think I'm going to stick with the fuel from Walmart after I get my next $5 payout from perk... I have $25 from Swagbucks on its way to paypal. I found some new phones on amazon (one of them was a tracphone) for under $20 but I d rather go with what I know will work. I think they were the older version of the android software? Thanks for the info!

Just a thought, but if you have the $ it would be better to go ahead and buy the phone now. I was thinking of waiting for the Concords to get in stock, but realized I could get the Fuels the same day and start making $. At $1 per phone per day, I would have wasted the $10 price difference just waiting for stock to come in and shipping.

Has anyone else had problem with perk TV? I use to be able to run it on all my devices through the night now a message pops up asking if you are still watching, anyone else have this happening to them as well? and also anyone know where to get cheap phones for I can run 5 devices at once! This change was implemented a month or so ago. I believe it comes up after 4 hours if you have not interacted with the phones. It's a necessary evil to keep their business model alive.

If MetroPCS ships to you, I think the ZTE Concord for $20 through them is your best bet. I'm pretty sure you can order more than one at a time.

Your phone is meant to use very little power. The average Andriod phone will use 2kwh per year. That's 2,000 watt of power. IN new jersey I pay 25 cents or so per kWh so I'm paying about 50 cents a year to run a single phone all day long Maybe a little more since they are running all day long.


Just put your screen dimming down as much as possible when not in use and shut off everything you don't nee. Bluetooth uses a lot of power and go into settings and make sure your modem is turned off. You really only want wifi on.


A bigger phone like a note or the new iPhone or an ipad tablet will use like 100 kWh but the APU (cpu/gpu) are clocked higher and don't throttle as much as since your looking at a 5.5inch or a 7/10 inch screen vs a 3.5 or 4.5 inch screen they will use more power. Its still only $10 a year in cost tho.

So with swag bucks if your using 4 or 5 phones you will make up the money for the year easily in the first week of earning. Most of us run swagbucks first using fav videos and when we are done switch to perk.

I make about $2 a day on swag bucks and $5 or so on perk per day with my set up.

Has anyone noticed that the "Are you still watching?" pop up seems to be coming more frequently? I reset my devices around 6:30 and by 9:00 all 5 of them had the pop up and were stalled.

Perk Live TV came out over the weekend with the newest app update. I tried it briefly last night on an old iphone but I couldn't get it to "listen" for commercials and it kept closing when I launched the Perk ads instead. Has anyone else tried it and if so, have you gotten it to work properly?

At 3 points per ad, it could add up faster than the movie trailers and popular videos. But it's not something that you can just open and run. You have to interact with it more than the other two. Even so, I'm really hoping that the bugs get worked out. It wouldn't take too much effort to babysit while watching TV in the evening.

I don't think so, it does ask what show you are watching. But I can't get it to do anything, it crashes the app each time I go into that area.

it might not be worth it however. of a 30 minute program 22-23 minutes are story and 7-8 minutes are adverts. So your only going to get points for 8 minutes in a 30 minute period. I think regular perk tv would be better.

Unless you can do this on a 6th device. Then you can add another phone to your fleet and it would only be a bonus
