Honestly, your iPad is likely to become technologically obsolete before it's going to "break down" from running videos on it. Unless you're keeping it in an unusually hot environment, I wouldn't worry about this. But then again, I don't buy devices like this expecting to keep them for years and years so YMMV.

Is anyone else doing Perk POP Quiz? It a trivia app, they play their ads between rounds. You get between 1-4 points per round depending on how many answers you get correct out of 5. I've been doing this a bit and seem to collect points faster, plus I like trivia.

The only problem I see right now, is that I've already closed out a couple categories(hello....there is a Disney category). The app says I'm out of questions in that category and bumps me to the next. There are still plenty of categories, but I like to stay with my favorites. I'm new to this app, (and perk in general) so I'm wondering if they add new questions every so often or reset the categories....

Also how does giving out all of these gift cards by the company, benefit the company? I'd be afraid the devices would get hot and catch on fire But I'm a big worry wort. Yes, phones not activated with a plan can still connect to your wifi. If you don't have an old phone there are some cheap choices out there - I went with the $30 LG Fuel from Walmart. I've had 10 plugged in for a while now and they are not any warmer than when they were in the box. Yes, it will use electricity, but very little. You can get a lot of info at /r/perktv - I think some people there calculated somewhere around $0.25 per phone for electricity. So far, each of my phones has banked about $1.25 per day.

PerkTV makes money from the ad companies. They pay a small amount for each time their add is viewed. Perk then turns around and pays us a smaller amount for viewing them.

Does anyone know if I can add perk tv on my nook tablet? I thought I read somewhere somebody had it on theirs but not sure where I read that info. I searched on my app store and didn't find it.

When I check the phones at the end of the day sometimes they have stopped playing videos and are trying to activate themselves... the window says "Hands Free Activation" and wants me to click Ok or Cancel, of course I choose Cancel. Is there a way to stop them from attempting to activate? Sometimes they freeze up, too, and I have to power down and start again. Is this normal?

Yes, mine do that sometimes as well. One of mine, a Samsung, I have to restart every morning, it just hangs after a while and works better if I do that instead of trying to stop the running programs.

Have you tried putting it in "airplane mode"? I have my android set up that way because someone from the dis or fb recommended it. I've had no problems at all.

Thank you for this tip! I didn't know I could still use wi-fi on airplane mode. I still have to restart it sometimes when it gets really slow, but it no longer tries to activate. Thank you!

I've been running perk on an old Ipod and my Ipad for a few weeks now. Today the Ipod froze and I can't get perk to work it just stays frozen on the ad. everything else works. I reinstalled the app but the videos won't go. The Ipad is working fine.

Anyone have any ideas? I have gotten several GCs so far and would hate not to get this working again.

Thanks DD figured it out she shut off the iPod and when she turned it on again it worked. Duh! Kids are so smart.

help, somebody! DH signed up for perk tv but now he can't remember which email address he used to sign up with. I have tried clicking on the "my account" button on his phone to no avail. It only sends us to a search page not to his account info. (My phone however brings up my info like it's supposed to) How can we figure out which email he used?

Uh oh! I started getting a "Are you still watching" pop-up during the night. It stops your videos until you click "Yes." This does not bode well for my progress.

I bought a Straight Talk LG L34C Optimus Fuel from Walmart using earnings from Perk. Those are $29.88

However, MetroPCS is selling the ZTE Concord II for $19.00 at the moment and you might still be able to get $10.00 back through BeFrugal for each phone. I bought three the other day, paid $57 out of pocket and have $30 pending cash back at BeFrugal.

Also, Bestbuy has the Samsung Rush on sale for $19.99 for another option.

The Concord II is my first choice. Then the Straight Talk Fuel and the Rush following after. Hope that helps!

I see Metro PCS has the ZTE Concord II for $19.99 with a rebate to get it free. I've never owned a prepaid phone so can you break it down for me using it for Perks or Swagbucks? I'd like to take the pressure off one of our iPads so to speak and for $19 or free that feels worthwhile. Can I simply purchase it and then not activate it and then connect to wifi here at the house? Do I need to do anything for the prepaid part and fund it in any way?

I've always owned an iPhone and clearly I can handle that but not a simple phone without a plan or service, lol!
