People waiting in line say the darndest things!

This wasn't in line, but on ME on arrival day. There was a couple sitting behind me with some brochure/map. They were talking about what attractions they wanted to see.

The woman: Oh, There's Fantasmic (couldn't pronounce). I definitely want to do that!

The man: Yeah, me too. That's that boat ride.



Now, they are READING/LOOKING at the descriptions of the parks.

Hope they had fun on the boat!

If they were looking at a map (which I assume she was because she said *there's* Fantasmic), it's probably because the FriendShip boats are actually right next to the Fantasmic! theater, even though you can't get quickly from one to the other.

This came from my daughter at lunch. We were at Animal Kingdom and I said lets go to Yak and Yeti for lunch. For some reason she said no and was very adamant about it. But I wanted to go there so that is where we went. She reluctantly ordered her lunch and we sat down to eat. She was very pouty and would not eat. She began looking around and all of a sudden her face lit up after reading a sign and said "OH this is Yak and Yeti, not Yakin Yeti (such as in vomitting Yeti)" God only knows what she was thinking was in her noodles.

Poor girl. I wouldn't want to go to Yakin Yeti either.

My DW and I often repeat a comment we once heard while waiting in line to ride The Land at Epcot. A young boy (12 or so), obviously disappointed with what he has seen at Epcot so far, is asking his parents what this "ride" is about. After its explained that you ride in a boat and learn about agriculture, sustaining the earth's population, etc., he says sarcastically and twirls his finger in the air:

"Yippee, we get to ride on a boat and look at plants"

They left the line soon thereafter.

I actually got this working @ Disney MGM in 1997...a lot of CM's would get this A LOT! I did not believe it until I heard it!

It was a young boy, but obviously the sentiment is shared amongst many! Epcot is an acquired taste since its not a bunch of "rides."

DH to DW while waiting in line for Splash Mountain.

DH - "You didn't tell me this was a water ride."
DW - "I thought you knew. Part of the reason it's called SPLASH mountain."
DH - "Am I going to get wet?"
DW (Sarcastically) - "Gee let me think. After all it is a water ride. I would say YES."

By this time my DW and I were laughing so hard, we didn't hear the rest of the conversation. Sounded like something you would hear out of a movie. Probably why we were laughing so hard.

I have a similar one on that ride. A husband and wife were sitting in the front row; I was in the back row.

We went down the first little dip and the husband turns to the wife and says, wow, that wasn't bad at all, we hardly got wet. She turned to him and said, that's not the drop.

A few minutes later, you can hear the car ahead of us screaming going down the "real" drop. And he turned to her with this look of dread on his face......

And there he was, screaming like a girl.....

A few years ago, I took a much needed break at MK and rode the TTA and a rather young couple, traveling with the son's mother were sitting about three rows in front of me.

We were just going along and finally got into the tunnel where you go through the Space Mountain area. The mother started screaming at her son, "I cannot believe you took me on that ride after I told you I was not going on it, I don't want to go on that ride, get me off of this thing right now."

She seriously thought it was going right into Space Mountain.

When my son was five we went to SW in San Diego and he was really into all types of rides growing up in amusement parks (Hersheypark at 3 weeks and WDW at 6 months), but now he was getting into the "big boy" rides. So, we are walking through the park and he says he wants to ride Journey to Atlantis. So, we said no problem. We walk over to the ride and he said he wanted to look at it first. So, he goes where the boats come down the big hill and watches the first boat and goes, in a loud and very clear voice, HOLY SH!%"!!!

Everyone around just lost it. We thought no way would he want to ride, so we ask him if he still wants to ride it. He replies, "yes, I will probably pee my pants". He went on and was fine.

Gotta love kids and their honesty.

While doing my GADGADD service project a couple of months ago:

Me: So do you have your trip planned yet?
Woman: Oh yes, I am going this summer
Me: Great! We're going in October
Woman: For the Food and Wine festival!! You'll have a great time!
Me: We're looking forward to it. This year we're staying offsite, but may stay at the Dolphin in the middle of the week for a few days...
Woman: Ohh.... yeah I like the Swan and Dolphin- so beautiful, but you should stay onsite... you can't participate in Extra Magic Hours if you do that...

waiting for the bus back to CBR on friday night an ambulance pulled into MK a little boy around 4 yells oh my god mom i cant believe someone is dying at Disney world. The mom yelled at him and then he hit a duck with his sword

On the ME bus to the CBR on tuesday night/wednesday morning, there was a group of grown men going down for ESPN weekend, talking about how great it was they were staying at CBR since the monorail goes right thru there and not to go to AK.

After boarding the POTC I notice the man in front of me keeps sticking his head out of the boat to get a better look at water below us ( i'm assumeing).
As soon as you approach the loading dock one of the first things you hear is keep your hands in the boat at all times. Well I don't think they said any thing about heads. Next thing you know bang his head hits one of the boxes where you step in the boat. Now thru the whole ride all I hear is how he is going to sue Disney, and his head hurts. Tina

We were on a Disney Line Cruise last year. My husband, 3-year-old daughter and I were in an elevator. The only other person was a tiny woman (maybe in her 50s or 60s.) As we were riding, my daughter says to the woman:

"You look like Piglet."

In case the woman didn't hear her statement, my daughter was kind enough to repeat it.

My husband and I wanted to die. We just sort of pretended that we didn't know what horrible parents would leave a 3-year-old in the elevator all by herself

By the way, when the woman did look at us (not amused at all) she did have the most adorable face - kinda like piglet. But I clearly didn't mention that to her.

THis last summer was our first family trip to WDW, I grew up in SoCal and DL and had been to WDW twice before myself. While in line for Splash Mountain, my son asked me if there were any "slopes" in this ride. I replied just a few small "slopes". Of course after the ride was over, my DS was a bit angry with me about not telling him about the "big slope", I replied innocently that he asked about "slopes" not "50 foot drops", so for the rest of the week, he would ask each CM on each ride if there were any "slopes OR drops" on this ride...he no longer asked me this question....

My sister and I took my dad to Crystal Palace this past December on his 65th birthday trip for lunch since he loves Pooh and Eeyore. The lady at the table before ours kept saying to her daughter "I hope Igor gets here soon" and "oooh look, here comes Igor". Eeyore is my favourite, so I couldn't help chuckling, then made sure when he came to our table I hugged him and said loudly , "Eeyore, I love you", "Thanks Eeyore" so she heard me. But I still hear her say afterwards as she showed her daughter the camera - "look at your picture with Igor!"

My youngest daughter was 7 the last time we were in Disney. She has special needs and is very small for her size and also on the autism spectrum. She was tired of walking and trying to keep up with everyone. Her feet hurt, but she didn't know how to tell us that. We figured out what she meant though when she said "Mom, my shoes keep bossing me around." Too cute

This story is hysterical! I looked at your webpage and I think your girls are beautiful. I almost cried at the pictures of Roo. What a great cat!
