Correct in that they do not have them onboard...but it is not due to it being a cashless system.....
DCL did have them in the early part of their history but did away with them...who knows why.....and all cruise ships in the industry are basically "cashless", yet other cruise ships do have ATM's onboard so that is not really the reason. The ships that do have ATM's onboard usually have a hefty service charge to use them....I guess they figure they have you captive!!!
An unofficial answer cribbed from the "Magical Disney Cruise Guide" from allears.net:
"6.11 Elongated Coins: They have removed the elongated coin machines from the ships. Being a cash-free environment, they werent generating enough traffic to justify their existence."
Sorry, no penny crusher on board DCL, but if your on the Magic for the Western Caribbean cruise you can find one in Grand Cayman that advertises the Cayman island. :0)
DH was introduced to the magic of penny squishers this past trip to WDW and has since become an addict. We bought him the display album and everything. The hobby is getting a bit expensive and I gently suggested that perhaps he bring his own penny-squishing-piggy-bank money for our next trip LOL.
