We did it and were very disappointed. We had heard such good things, and were so looking forward to it and it was a big dud.
They didn't corral the characters like they usually do, so Minnie went by us twice and never stopped. It took forever for DD to get her food (she didn't want the buffet), they had trouble refilling our glasses, the bus boy didn't understand English so couldn't answer our questions, and the waitress (who was very good) was stretched way too thin and we didn't see her but twice. The food was pretty good, especially the bannana foster french toast. There were no dances and partying like I had heard about. The restaurant was really cold, and we also had to wait more than 30 minutes to get in even after we had a PS (and unfortunately, we were under time constraints). The characters we did see, the interaction was the worst of any characters we've dealt with in the parks.
All in all, the most disappointing of our experiences and DD said she didn't want to go back.

We've done all the character meals except for Minnie's in DL and Lilo & Stitch's is our favorite hands down. We always try to do one of the first seatings in the morning and are often one of a few patrons in the restaurant at the early time. We've gotten plenty of one on one interactions with the characters. Oftentimes, the characters will repeatedly visit our table several times during our breakfast. Stitch is a barrel of laughs and ds and dd always want to eat here during each of our trips. Lately, we've been doing Lilo's twice during each of our past 3 trips. My kids just love an open-ended buffet. And I love that I can order off the menu too. It's also one of the few places where you'd get a photo op with Daisy.

Lilo and Ariel's are our two favorite character meals. We've had great experiences each and every time we've done these.

We had the first seating of the day, and it still took maybe 10 minutes after check-in before we were seated. (That's a darn sight better than the half-hour to 45 mins. after a GK check-in!) I'm not sure why that is, but it seems to be part of the character dining experience.

I am surprised to hear the character interaction was poor, because it was sooo good when we went! I've heard of other meals having ups and downs with service or character experiences, but I think you are the first with a bad experience at PPH. Hopefully it was just an off day and not a trend.

We're going to check it out again on our next trip.
