Does anyone know if it is legal in Ohio to not give an employee a pay stub?

Are they making it available online or are they not providing any kind of documentation at all?

We have online access to ours that we can print or save to PDF (what I do, because I HATE paper).

Our employees have online access for their paystubs. We do not give them one.

Here they asked all of us to opt for online to be "green" I think it is about 80% don't get the hard copy. I do print mine for my records.

We were told ours would only be available on line. I don't look at them all the time. I definitely don't print them. they keep like 12 months (or more) available.

I worked in Payroll for a large, nationwide company. They may say they are being green, but they save literally millions of dollars by not giving you a check stub. Well, it depends on how big your company is. I was thinking there was one state that we had to print stubs for, but I can't remember. I am thinking Rhode Island? Company also forced everyone on direct deposit, another huge money saver for them.

Ok, according to the Dept of Labor, no state is required to provide you with a paper stub. But they must provide access to your pay information. So no, Ohio does not have to give you a check stub, but they should have the proper means of letting you print your own off on the job site.

Target keeps bugging me about "going green" with my paystub:rolleyes:

I keep saying no, because as of now EHR is still IE only, no Firefox access:headache: Well I refuse to use IE and when our HR person got on me a while back I said I prefer the print outs, and she said "Well we'll print it for you here. I'm like: do you not enough work to do without me adding to it? They already print it out and send them with the actual paychecks so I'll just keep picking it up here, thanks"

DH's company no longer gives pay stubs either, he has to print it at home if he wants it. But he has access to his EHR on Firefox. Mostly he just views it at work though and if he needs it he'll print it out there.

That's my definition of being green too. Has to save me money FIRST and pretty much immediately, otherwise fuggeddaboutit.

They are not providing any type of documentation at all until the very end of the year and it will be like a reconciliation of the year not a paystub.

I would be more than happy to print it out myself.

Our company is small - only 9 employees. However, there are several entities that our home office does payroll for. But we are all separate entities.
