So we activated our passholders on Jan. 3rd. First of all, what a difference the paper passholder ticket is compared to the one I have from the 1980's that was laminated with my photo. I always read on this board and other places about Passholder discounts, previews and other stuff. It is even advertised that Disney will send emails occasionally. I have NEVER received an unexpected email from Disney. The only emails I get are dining related to reservations I have made. I really feel like I am being left out of the "magic". As it is, they did not have the little sheet about the pass, so we didn't realize there was also a discount at the shops till the next trip. We did receive a welcome card in the mail and then another time an "AP" car magnet. So I know our home address is correctly on file. I did call Disney, and the 3rd time, the person did verify my email, the other times, they had no clue on anything passholder related. On top of this, the website was going through changes at the start of the year where it was all messed up at times.
How often do any other passholders get emails? Every time I talk with someone about this, I tell them how they are greatly missing out on a great marketing tool. They have the limited time magic going on. A simple email blast every week or two with what the upcoming magic will be could really get more of the local and not so local (we are 3 hrs away) passholders to come on in more often.
Thanks for any comments.
