These meals always scare me, lol. I know they are pre-set menus - and I'm such a picky eater I'm afraid I wouldn't like what is selected that day. If it wasn't for that, I'd definitely be signing up for it.

It's funny - we're the exact opposite. I was thinking that if we did this lunch, we would still want to at eat Saana again. Because they're sure to choose the tamest things off the menu and we'll want to try the most interesting. ;)

Does anyone think they will (or know) do something big for FLE or will that just be the official on the books opening day? Special pin? Ceremony?

Since they announced it, I'm assuming a special ceremony. I know there's a new FL pin set coming out. I would guess that they'll have some kind of special merchandise. But there's really not much news yet.

My FIL is in rehab. The doctor told him he's released patients that were weaker than he was when admitted. They don't expect him to stay more than a few days. He is not allowed to drive, lift anything or sports for three months. He also has to wear a collar for three months. MIL said "Dr said he should be able to travel we will see, depends on how he feels."

So the outlook for his recovery looks very good. :) No idea yet on the trip. The travel mention may just refer to their house in Ft. Myers. They were planning to go in Oct and stay until thanksgiving. And no stairs in that house, so I can see them wanting to head there to recuperate. We haven't brought the trip up but will probably do so in the next couple days.

In the mean time, I started an Alternate plan. I completely started from scratch so that will at least keep me occupied for a few days. ;)

On the topic of FLE, I don't remember if I saw it here or not, but saw in another thread that MK is closing early on Wed 12/5. Media event? Prep for grand opening?

Doesn't impact us as we don't arrive until the next day, but in case anyone planning on MK on 12/5...

I've been a little quiet on here in the last week and just wanted to say why. DH got laid off last week. It was a huge shock. We were worried about all the "what if"s" in terms of how long unemployment could be and also (maybe trivial to some) the "what happens to our trip?" sad thoughts.

Well, I am happy to say he had a job interview today and just got offered the job tonight! PHEW. It's not his DREAM, forever job, (do people still get those anyway? ;) ) but it is something and we are RELIEVED. Hopefully they will be cool with him taking the week off in December. Just happy we dodged a big bullet. I knew seeing those 3 rainbows today may have meant something. pixiedust:

This is my first time experiencing something like this. A real wake up call to save more money for emergencies. Lesson learned.

Glad that tonight DH and I will actually get a restful night of sleep. First one since last Wednesday.

Wow. Welcome back and congrats to DH on getting a new job so quickly!!

Glad to hear the positive outlook on his recovery :-)

Have fun with putting together Plan B. it will be a great distraction for you :-)

Umm yeah, thanks. What a friend you are ..... so thought it was Wednesday until you decided to tell me otherwise :p

Got my shoes too - shocking pink sneakers, I love them and my family won't lose me they are so bright :teeth:

Good news. Today is Wednesday. :)

We were in a bowling league a few years ago and I got new bowling shoes that were hot pink and black. Soooo bright!!! I like the idea of wearing crazy colored shoes in Disney. :thumbsup2 A new pair of sneakers was already on my list........

Good news on the recovery prognosis!!! Hopefully they can still go, but in the meantime--have fun making your new plan!!!

We are scheduled for MK on 12/5, I'm hoping that everything in FLE will be open as a soft opening because I think 12/6 will be nuts and 12/7 is planned as a full day in Epcot. Ahhh, wish they'd let the planners know. All though on the other it may be a blessing because they aren't majorly advertising it, yet.

85 days!!!

Three months from now, I'll be on my second day at Hollywood Studios (and my second to last day at WDW - boo), reriding anything that looks good or seeing the Beauty and the Beast stage show if we didn't get to it on Monday. If we didn't get a chance to do the monorail bar crawl and watch Wishes, this will be our last chance to do so!

It's official! We'll be visting the World from 12/13-17. We're staying at Pop. I can't wait!:santa:

Morning all... just read that Walt's birthday is Dec. 5. How is that typically celebrated throughout the parks? Sadly, we're leaving that morning so consequently we won't see anything but maybe that's a good thing? We're also missing the FSE ceremony/opening the next day and from what I'm reading we're dodging the bullet with this one.

tofubeast - that's wonderful news about your husband finding employment so quickly. And I can guarantee you, my thoughts would have been just like yours "what about our trip". It's not selfish at all especially when it something you're so excited about and have worked for. I'm just glad it all worked out.

Awesome. We're getting in on the 13th, too! I am so excited!

Thanks! It should be a great time to go. Are you going to MVMCP?
And...a PIN just came in the mail! I'm so excited!:banana::banana:

Disney is pretty lame on the celebration front. I'm guessing they won't do anything.

Yeah, this threw me into a tizzy last week, since they cancelled MSEP.

They haven't said what it's for yet. Probably not prep since they almost always do that after hours. I'm hoping for a special event we can go to. ;)

We are going to MVMCP on 12/6....with that being the actual opening for FL, how crazy do you think the party is going to be that night? Do you think that it will be a special MVMCP with that being the official opening of FL?

I got them from Target. I toyed with the idea of buying expensive sneakers but tbh, I just don't wear them enough. These were really comfortable. Yesterday I got a cross-body bag in the SAME colour ::yes:: The neon colours are huge this year so I think this calls for a neon lime green t-shirt too. Ha! There'll be no losing me :teeth:

EDIT: These are them although they don't look anywhere near as bright as they are in real life haha My really pink trainers (or sneakers as you guys call them :p)

Love them!! The Vera crossbody I used last year is red, so that will not work. But I bought one of those new Small World LeSportSac bags. I dont have it with me, but it was bright colors. Will have to check out Target this weekend!!!!

Totally agree. I doubt they do anything. I would have thought they would do the FLE grand opening that day in honor of Walt, but no.
