We arrive on Disney property November 29!! It's our 25th wedding anniversary and I turned 50 this year!! Here's to the "50 Club!" You're never to old for Disney!! It's the most Magical place on earth! party:party:party:

Congrats on your anniversary, birthday and Disney trip. :goodvibes

I'm sorry you're having a bad week. Yesterday had its highs and its lows, but today is decidedly meh. I can't believe it's only Tuesday.

Totally agree!! How is it only Tuesday???? My lousy week was last week. This one has been okay, just slllooooowwwwww.

Went to the doc today. Probable meniscus tear. Possible ACL tear. Getting an MRI on Thurs and will know next Wed. If surgery is needed. Not what I wanted to hear at all.

Sending pixie dust your way! Hopefully no surgery is needed and it's healed up in time!

I just want to be in Disney World!

Ditto!!! I want to be on Splash Mountain right now, at the top before the drop, watching my kids' faces for their reactions!

I SOOOOOO hear you. This past week has been really bad for me. (Hoping there is a light at the end of the tunnel.) I would so much rather be wearing my Mickey ears and ride Dumbo right now with a citrus swirl in one hand, a churro in the other. A pocket full of fastpasses. My DD smiling next to me as she looks in awe out of all that is Fantasyland.

ok I will stop dreaming. Just been a crap week. Might post about it later. Hoping for good news. hugs to all.

Hope you get the news you're hoping for!

About the crowd calendars, I suppose you guys are right. I know of three other families planning trips to WDW and none of them had any clue that you should do any pre-planning in terms of crowd calendars, ADR's, touring plans, etc. I guess I'm just nervous about early December being busier than late September (which is when we went on our first trip). We just can't stand crowds, so almost all of my plans are centered around trying to hit up slow days at each park.

Last week was pretty bad. Now we're under a tornado watch. Almost guaranteed to lose power again.

Is it Disney time yet?

Just saw a review of vegan dining at Sanaa that's left me wishing we had room in our plan to go there. But we don't. Ha. Whomp.

I'm already trying to figure out when we should take our next trip. I'm thinking the end of October and beginning of November of 2014. Ha! We could check out MNSSHP and see the switch from Halloween to Xmas in the parks. Plus, Food and Wine. I saw this suggestion on a Disney blog I follow (Dad's?), and it seems like a good plan. If not, we'll probably go during some point in October. I'd like to stay at a moderate or (maybe?) Deluxe, but we'll see how budgeting goes over the next year or so.

It seems to me that Dec has plenty of days just as low as Sept/Oct but there are definitely some high days mixed in there, especially at MK. Which just makes knowing the crowd calendars all the more critical. If you only hit the slow days it shouldn't seem any different than your previous trip. A 1.1 at Epcot is just as great, even if MK is an 8 that day. :)

We're definitely doing Saana this trip. I'm thinking about Dine with an Animal Keeper. :)

Has anyone done Dine with an Imagineer? Wondering what kind of Imagineer you're likely to get.

Also considering some of the behind-the-scenes tours at Sea World.

Poor you! I am so sorry. Please keep us updated so as we can support you and give advice, if we can. I can act generally ridonkulous in the hopes of giving you a smile

Oh My Gosh ! I'll be in WDW on my 50th (Dec 10) and we just celebrated our 20th anniversary !!! :jumping1: We should start our own club !

Does anyone think that because of all the online crowd calendars and easy to find WDW info that the parks are becoming more crowded on days that are supposed to be quiet days? Like on the MVMCP calendar that shows when all of us are attending the party, notice how the days that are supposed to be quiet (Tues/Thurs) have waaay more people from disboards attending versus the Friday or Sunday party?

I'm just wondering if most people are still in the dark about crowd calendars or not? Like if it would be smarter to do the opposite of what the crowd calendars say to do? I just remember seeing a post in someone's trip report about how when they went to what was supposed to be a busy park it was quiet, and vice versa. Plus it seems like when I check dining reservations for what are supposed to be busy days at a park there's quite a few available, but for days that are supposed to be low crowd levels there's not much left.

Maybe I'm just over-thinking things....

Of course, with the internet now people can do their research. There are tons of resources out there advising you of the best time to go so its inevitable that crowd trends will change. I'm one of those who does Disney all "wrong" :p I pay no heed to crowd calendars I decide which parks I want to go to on which days. The way I see it, we are not going at a 'peak' time so it has got to be less crowded than say, school vacation periods. When it comes to MK I don't think there is such a thing as no crowds so use the FP system and chill :)

Umm yeah, thanks. What a friend you are ..... so thought it was Wednesday until you decided to tell me otherwise :p

Guess what I bought today - a travel size bar of Dove soap :rotfl2::rotfl2: Its so dinky and cute and its the first thing I have bought that is solely for my Disney trip :lmao:

Got my shoes too - shocking pink sneakers, I love them and my family won't lose me they are so bright :teeth:

We arrive on Disney property Dec 9th. It's my 50th celebration too (although I turned 50 last May). Yeah for us!!!

Sorry for the double post but I just found yours, I'm reading backwards ! lol

We arrive on Dec 7. I will be spending my actual 50th in EPCOT World Showcase

It's funny that you say that. Over the weekend, BDLslil bought a variety of 3 oz. containers just for our trip. :rotfl2: This way, no one will be subjected to unfamiliar shampoos.

Owie. :( I know your pain.

But if surgery is necessary, hopefully you can bounce back as well as I have. And for the record, I'm no spring chicken. :rolleyes1 My arthroscopic surgery was 08/17, and I was released from twice-weekly physical therapy as of last Thurs. The knee is doing well, not back up to full strength but on its way. I have several exercises to do on my own at home, and some I can do during my work day. Plus they told me I could ride my bicycle and walk (both on flat areas, no need straining it on hills yet) for additional strengthening.

I believe I'll be fine for our trip (102 days now!!). Best of luck with yours!! :goodvibes

Has anyone done Dine with an Imagineer? Wondering what kind of Imagineer you're likely to get.

We did in Dec '08, so much fun! There's no telling who you might get. Our Imagineer was an interior designer and artist. He did many of the resort lobbies and common areas, down to a little shelf for brochures at a park kiosk. Also did the art for several of the billboards on Sunset Blvd and for Fantasmic! in DHS. Oh yeah, he also assisted on the last update in POTC, adding some new flourishes to the old pirates... couldn't leave them looking so ratty with a brand-new Capt Jack, now could they?! ;)

Hopefully all it will be is a menisucs tear. I've had surgery for that, and it was pretty simple. I work retail where I am on my feet running around all day, and I missed only a month of work. Another co-worker is having hers fixed next month, and they told her if she would have had a sit down job she would only miss a few days. I will send up good thoughts that it is not anything to do with your ACL.

$300 total ! Wooooo Hooo !

No way! Lucky!!! I'm looking at almost $300 one way PER PERSON..sigh... Oh well, I'll keep hunting for the best prices until our trip and hopefully it won't cone back and bite me for waiting so long.

What the heck? TP just changed MK to being the Best Park on Nov.30?? That's supposed to be the concert taping day, and they're saying it's a 1.5 crowd level. Doesn't that make no sense at all? That's our first day in WDW and while I would love to go to MK first, I planned to go to AK since it was a taping day and I figured it would be crazy busy... oh crowd calendars why must you mess with my head and my plans!!?!

I just got an email from TP because I put the dates in for all my dates to be notified of changes. It's crazy most of the parks that I picked we're super low, some 1's and 2's now there 5's and 6's. I honestly thing it's all up in the air. What with fantasyland opening, I think this is a ripple effect though and the worst will be this summer when everyone is on break and everyone wants to see the new fantasyland. I was going to purchase hoppers, but decided not to all the parks I choose still are the best parks to attend, guess that means I will be sticking to the touring plans more closely.
