What the heck? TP just changed MK to being the Best Park on Nov.30?? That's supposed to be the concert taping day, and they're saying it's a 1.5 crowd level. Doesn't that make no sense at all? That's our first day in WDW and while I would love to go to MK first, I planned to go to AK since it was a taping day and I figured it would be crazy busy... oh crowd calendars why must you mess with my head and my plans!!?!

Odd! TP updated the crowd levels for my stay (12/13-12/20) and lowered most of the crowd level estimates. Wonder what info was released to make them adjust the estimations. I think that now their best park recommendations are more in line with easywdw.

I got the same email, and it doesn't affect most of my days but some of my parks are supposedly no longer best parks. It mostly affects the first day (Nov 30), but I think I'm going to stick with my gut and assume that the concert taping day will be busy at MK and avoid it. For the most part I went with EasyWDW's recommendations anyways, as it seems most people here on the Disboards think that they're generally more accurate than TP.

I hope everyone feels better. Whenever my husband has a bad day he just looks at me and says "Are we there yet?" and I know what he means.

My ten year old son came up to me and said 68 days left. I couldn't believe it!

I've been a little quiet on here in the last week and just wanted to say why. DH got laid off last week. It was a huge shock. We were worried about all the "what if"s" in terms of how long unemployment could be and also (maybe trivial to some) the "what happens to our trip?" sad thoughts.

Well, I am happy to say he had a job interview today and just got offered the job tonight! PHEW. It's not his DREAM, forever job, (do people still get those anyway? ;) ) but it is something and we are RELIEVED. Hopefully they will be cool with him taking the week off in December. Just happy we dodged a big bullet. I knew seeing those 3 rainbows today may have meant something. pixiedust:

This is my first time experiencing something like this. A real wake up call to save more money for emergencies. Lesson learned.

Glad that tonight DH and I will actually get a restful night of sleep. First one since last Wednesday.

No way! Lucky!!! I'm looking at almost $300 one way PER PERSON..sigh... Oh well, I'll keep hunting for the best prices until our trip and hopefully it won't cone back and bite me for waiting so long.

Wow that's crazy expensive. That's the price of our RT fare from the West Coast to MCO. Btw, Southwest is running a sale for the next 11 days, but I don't know if your dates are included. I did notice that after the 15th, everything starts jumping up price-wise except for a few mid-week dates.

So glad to hear the good news. I'm sure that was a huge worry!!! Sometimes the "not the dream, forever job" can turn into something he really
loves - hoping that's how it turns out or that it will lead to better things. pixiedust:
Get a good night's sleep and dream happy thoughts of your trip to Disney. :goodvibes

SO happy for you guys and that you can hopefully still go on your vacation! I'm sure that was devastating, but it's so great that it worked out for you. Must have been all that pixie dust we were sending you! ;)

Wow wow wow. These are tough times and I'm so glad your dh got a job so quickly. It seems not everyone is so fortunate. Happy, too......that your trip is safe!

Welcome back :). I'm glad to hear that everything has worked out. And, like the PP said, your DH is lucky to have found a job so quickly!

It's funny that you say that. Over the weekend, BDLslil bought a variety of 3 oz. containers just for our trip. :rotfl2: This way, no one will be subjected to unfamiliar shampoos.

I still have all of our travel sized containers still packed in the zip-lock baggie from our June trip to California. Our toiletries are ready to go ;)

Has anyone done Dine with an Imagineer? Wondering what kind of Imagineer you're likely to get.

These meals always scare me, lol. I know they are pre-set menus - and I'm such a picky eater I'm afraid I wouldn't like what is selected that day. If it wasn't for that, I'd definitely be signing up for it.

Just booked our flights today !
$300 total ! Wooooo Hooo !

I'm waiting just a little bit longer. Our flights are still the same price that they've been for a couple months now. I'll probably book them in a couple weeks unless a fab price comes out!

That's so great! I'm not sure how it is by you, but work is pretty scarce in some places. So glad all worked out- its nice to hear good (even if it's not the dream job) things happen to good people!

@Tofubeast

Wow. What a scare you must have had but so glad your hubby was able to get an interview AND employed so quickly *congrats hugs for Mr. Tofubeast*

I just got an email from TP because I put the dates in for all my dates to be notified of changes. It's crazy most of the parks that I picked we're super low, some 1's and 2's now there 5's and 6's. I honestly thing it's all up in the air. What with fantasyland opening, I think this is a ripple effect though and the worst will be this summer when everyone is on break and everyone wants to see the new fantasyland. I was going to purchase hoppers, but decided not to all the parks I choose still are the best parks to attend, guess that means I will be sticking to the touring plans more closely.

It looks to me like they upped the crowds for Thurs through Sun of FLE. And then their algorithm likely calculated the impacts to the weeks before and after. But they've already posted that the numbers for FLE are anybody's guess. In other words, they're just making it up.

Personally I think they're estimating high. Disney isn't even advertising FLE much. Maybe after Halloween. But I just can't see that many locals showing up on that first Thurs/Fri; why would they fight the crowds for something that will still be there a month later?

Anyway, I never look at "Best Park". Just the numbers. Sometimes there's no real difference between Best and Neutral. Nothing shifted enough to cause me to change my plans. At least not for Plan A. Plan B (if the inlaws can't come) is a whole different ballgame.

Congrats to your DH. That's really scary. And, of course a trip that you put your heart and soul into is not trivial. You know, we understand. Glad it all worked out. :)

Does anyone think they will (or know) do something big for FLE or will that just be the official on the books opening day? Special pin? Ceremony?

I am so hoping you're right!! We'll be there Thurs-Sun!

It makes sense though based on what has been done on Disney's end that it prob won't be as bad as it could be. I'm also sticking with our original plan. Heck, it can't be any worse that spring break or summer, and we've survived those! Right? :-)

They posted an article on the Disney blog (last week I think) about some FLE grand opening pins they would have that day. As far as ceremonies, I would assume so but no announcement yet. Either way, we'll be there on 12/6 for all of the fun!

Found the article on the FLE pins. http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...land-pins-coming-to-walt-disney-world-resort/
