Parley....Will That Get Me On The Ship Any Faster part 2

Let's see, the 5K is at 9:30 so last ones in (those of us who walk it) should be done in 45 minutes. We'll be at the bar at 10:15. :cool1: It's 5 oclock somewhere.:lmao:

I like the way you think :thumbsup2

Go ahead, rub it in!
:)

Well I have now run 4 half-marathons this year, and am training for a full, but I am not fast either :) Plus, with amount of "good time" I plan on having on this cruise, I am not sure what condition I expect to be in that morning!

Welcome back, like the others said, your presence is enough. I am pretty sure that is what we are going to bring, unless I just see something that makes sense. I have found in my experience that meeting up at the beginning definitely helps the bonding process, for adults and for children!

And this group looks fantastic :thumbsup2

We also need people to bring an appetite or at least be willing to make a sacrifice and help eat the goodies nomnomnomnomnom popcorn::

We are going to MNSSHP on friday night nite before the cruise. purchased tickets & Printed online. Can anyone give me an idea how crowded it wil be.

I was walking through Disneyland last year during MNSSHP (not participating, just on my way out from Club 33). It seemed to me that there were less than half as many people as had been there during the day.

I'm impressed by all of you who are already packed. I'm packing Friday, toss out the clothes and then divide by half. We always pack too much!:confused3

Are you related to my DW? She lays out what she wants to take for me to pack. I convince her to leave half behind. After going through 2-3 outfits per day on the cruise :scared1:, she still only wears half of what she takes! :lmao:

Welcome - the bringing 'goodies' started when we offered to bring some chocolate from the UK and, as far as I understand it, some people are bringing stuff which is 'native' to their local area. Please don't feel like you have to bring something though, we will be plenty happy to have you there without :)

Hmmm... not quite sure what type of treats is local to AZ. Chocolate-covered scorpions? Blech! Other states seem to have cool stuff to bring.

I'm a newcomer to this thread (well, joined several months back, but life got busy!). I was looking at the meets on the first page and then saw a comment in a post about bringing goodies to the first day meet on the ship? What kind of goodies shall we bring?

I have a 10-yr-old daughter, and she is hoping to make some friends on this cruise. She is very outgoing, but for some reason didn't bond with anyone on our last cruise 3 years ago. Hoping by meeting up with this group we can get her introduced to some of the kids!

Welcome, we have an almost 4 year-old and a one-year old, so younger than your daughter. We are hoping that she'll make some friends too. That way she'll have more fun on the cruise and hopefully would not mind hanging out in the kids club. Mommy and Daddy may get some alone time?

Great news!

I just received confirmation from DCL that we're confirmed for Palo Brunch, Thursday, 27 Oct at 1030.

Here are the particulars as passed to me:

Looking forward to seeing everybody on board!

Woo hoo! So excited. Brunch is what I wanted to do since I am not sure which dinner is good to miss. May do dinner as well. Anyone has suggestions on the best night to miss?

thanks for respionding

Thanks so much for all the replies on the cruise meet! We will be at the meet, and certainly are willing to try any of the goodies:) I'm from Missouri - I have nothing to offer!

I can't wait to get on the ship and be away from cell phones and internet. I'm already hoping we can book our next cruise while on board!

Can anyone explain the debarkation process using the DCL airport transfer with onboard check-in for me? So we leave our bags outside the night before and we don't see it again until we get home right? Can we put things out that we want back before getting on the plane (i.e. car seats)? Not sure if I want to lug around 2 car seats during breakfast, but we need them for the plane.

How are those who are traveling with young children handling their luggages. Not sure how we'll handle 2 luggages, a carryon, 2 car seats, a stroller and 2 young kids on top of that? :confused3 Sigh! We usually drive and this is our first big trip with the two kids.

Some Parleyers have treats planned that are indigenous to them so they decided to bring some along to share.

The only transportable food that is 'indigenous' to our home is Oreos. If there's room in the luggage, we'll bring those. :thumbsup2  :upsidedow

Yeah- another Missourian. We're from Kearney, MO just north of Kansas City. Are you flying out of KCI?

I've had worse! :scared1:

Brunch is phenomenal! :thumbsup2

"which dinner is good to miss" is definitely a tough one. It's all about your personal likes and dislikes and how adventurous you are.

Do you really dislike formal dress? Maybe go to Palo on formal night; he can where trousers and a long-sleeved shirt, she can wear a cocktail dress or a nice pants suit instead of tux/suit and a formal gown (not that everybody does, anyway, although we do).

As I've mentioned before, DW and I don't care for Animator's Pallette, so that's when we're going to Palo. However, when our kids were young we wouldn't miss it - watching the colors come to life along with the characters is unforgettable.

Maybe escargot and assorted other French food isn't your thing; the Lumiere's French menu may be the one to skip. Don't care for Caribbean spices? Maybe Caribbean night in Parrot Cay is the night for Palo.

Here are the menus (click on the links to see the menus):

Day 1:
A - Show Dinner
P - Island Dinner
L - French Dinner

Day 2 (Formal Night):
All - Prince & Princess Menu

Day 3 (same as Day 1):
A - Show Dinner
P - Island Dinner
L - French Dinner

Day 4:
Pirates IN the Caribbean Menu

Day 5 (same as Day 1):
A - Show Dinner
P - Island Dinner
L - French Dinner

Day 6 (Semi-Formal Night):
Captain's Gala Menu

Day 7:
'Til We Meet Again Menu

Obviously Days 1, 3, & 5 depend on your rotation. The other menus are served in all of the restaurants.

To give you something to compare with, here's the Palo dinner menu.

Disclaimer: all of the above are subject to change without notice!!!

We live in Bates City (Oak Grove school district), about 8 miles east of Blue Springs. Yep, flying out of KCI. We are leaving on Thursday the 20th and spending the day at Sea World on Friday. Did you have a hard time finding reasonably priced flights to Orlando? We sure did! Had to pay $300 a ticket, when the most I've ever paid was $160 to Orlando!! Maybe it was just the days we wanted to fly down and come home.

Yep we were right at $300/piece also for American Airlines. We leave next Friday morning. I think the high cost was trying to find an early afternoon flight on the 29th, if I remember correctly. That is one of the reasons our four kids are staying at home with grandma & grandpa.

That is really cool. Is there a way to distinguish between maternal and paternal grandparents?

I am sure their is a way to distinguish but I am not aware of what it would be. We only use it on one side of the family. The Danish side, not that one is better than the other.

I am soooooo excited for this vacation. to meet everyone and enjoy all the activities planned. Mostly to just relax.

I will second that I cannot wait to get away for internet and phones. although I will need to make sure and setup my fantasy lineups for two weekends we are gone.

I will miss football though on saturday and sunday.

Hooray! :yay: I just got my last Disney Rewards Card (the one from the discontinued Chase Disney Rewards Debit card :headache:). Apparently, the post office mis-routed it somehow. But now it's safe in my wallet (at least for another week :rolleyes1)

By this time next week I should be checking in at the Boardwalk and on my way to meet friends for lunch and micro-brews at Big River Grille :drinking1 Gadzooks!

Now how do I get through the rest of this day? :confused3 must not think about Disney must not think about Disney must not think about Disney must not think about Disney must not think about Disney
