I remember doing this one in '77 and splashing a bunch of folks behind me because I was afraid(I was 5) that the big riverboat was gonna hit us!

What now closed 'ride' allowed you to paddle yourself(along with a few others) in a canoe?

im not sure just a guess davy crockett keeps poppinginto my mind

That would be the "C" ticket ride, Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes--love those historical questions!:p

after two weks that was my first correct answer now the addiction beginswho's name appears twice on the windows above mainstreet mk

ryley...congrats on nailing the Davy Crockett answer! And I'll guess the name that appears twice is Roy Disney.

Carpe,
"Old" is a state of mind. I prefer "seasoned."

OK, folks:
Who is the chairman of XS Tech?

For some reason, I seem to remember Walt having two windows. One over the ice cream shop, and another in the middle with the title of Graduate School of Design and Master Planning. Or am I thinking of the same window?

There are actually several people who are referenced twice in the window names, but only one name that appears twice: Bob Mathieson. This name appears in the Windermere Fraternal Hall window, and the Community Service Recruitment Center window.

Bill Sullivan is referenced twice, but the other name he was known by is Sully Sullivan.

Roy O Disney appears with his own name, and under the name Roy Davis, the name he used when visiting the Florida properties prior to purchase.

Good question Ryley.

Darn it, I was actually going to use this question myself until I forgot the answer :p I have a great memory, but apparently it is very short...

While I struggle with this one, here is a related question:

What is the story behind the location of Walt's name?

Mike

Mike....not sure what "story" you are looking for, but I know it's the only name in a window facing Cinderella's castle. All the other names in windows face Main Street.

Is the story that they wanted "Walt" to be able to view Cindy's castle each day and admire the magic he had created?

Granny nails it. Roy Disney wanted Walt to have a view of Cinderella's castle, so his name is tucked away around the corner on the Ice Cream Parlor.

Mike

There are several stories about the placement of Walt's name, including the one Granny mentioned.

The most logical one to me is that the names are meant to read like the credits of a film. The last credit usually goes to the director of the film, in this case, Walt Disney.

I also like the story that Walt's name is positioned to have a view of all the happy guests as they leave the Magic Kingdom.

It should be noted that Walt's is not the only name to face the castle. Across Main Street above Casey's Corner, several names face the castle, including Tony Baxter, Dave Durkhart, Ed Johnson, and Gary Younger.

Ok....first thing first...I am very much a girl (just had to get that off my chest...uhh...so to speak) :p and second, do you mean to tell me you actually see happy people leaving Disney? Maybe I miss them behind all of the huge strollers filled with crying kids.

carpdm i've read this once and was also told on the keys tour the only name that appears twice is ron miller. he married to walts dd and ran the disney company so he gets two windows. maybe the you just stumbled onto something new. now when i go back in 2004 more research for me to drive my dw nuts lol some where i read that walts window is there to wave hello on the way in and he the first to see your smiling faces on the way out
