Yes, by Disney Decree, no buildings at DAK shall exceed 30 feet in height. Not only did they want the Tree of Life to dominate, they wanted all trees to dominate at AK. They wanted to preserve the jungle/rain forest look throughout the park.

I'd say they kind of lost that look in Chester & Hester's area, but overall, they did a good job!
