Parks Game! Part 6! Keep Playing! You Can't Stop Now!

In case you guy are giving up guessing the remaining two emotions let me give you a clue for each.

1) One is how we feel when we enter the CC.

2) The other is what kind of people don't belong in WDW :)

As far as I can tell, this is this is the only question still out there.
Although DisBen has yet to confirm the picture question.

In honor of a good Friday morning thought I would throw one out there to get the morning started:

Which version of Splash Mountain is longer, the one at Disneyland or WDW? Bonus: What was added to make the one longer?

Also, thanks DisBen. I didn't know about the archives, so now I can go over and read all of the beginning:Pinkbounc

Wow, a 50/50 chance question! :p

I'll guess WDW Splash Mtn is longer...and they added the final boat ensemble scene at the end?

And I'll second MCMom's answer on the sign location!

(So nice to see the CC again....work has been...well, you guys know!)

Having ridden them both...I'll say that WDWs Splash is the longer one...but I'm not sure what they added...I'll say they added a couple of hills and the part where you go around the outside of the hill at the top...
I will say this...while both versions are cool...(DL's has a great part where the logs speed though a twisty dark tunnel) WDW's tells the story much better...

As for the sign...I'll third that it is in front of Sid's MGM store...

:sunny:Good Friday Morning :sunny:

I brought loads of caffine...and boy do I need it, but I am willing to share with my friends ;)

Pam...I'll third that WDW is longer, and doesn't it have an extra drop for some reason?

Or maybe it was just so they could fit the opossums scene in :p

I need a "Splash" to stay awake...anyone want to come with?

:smooth:

Morning Granny.

You and Higgs are both correct. WDW is much longer. Disneyland is less than 9 minutes and WDW is around 12 minutes.

They added a lot of characters and scenes in the WDW version. In particular, the outdoor stuff at the beginning is much more detailed including a garden and laundry on a line that isn't found in Disneyland. And, the scene where the water jumps around the room. That is one of my favorite scenes.
Also, I just watched the Disneyland version again to check about the last scene. The boat scene is in both versions. However I didn't see the two vultures on the way up in the Disneyland version.

The last of the differences I can think of, (and I am sure there are plenty more) coming from the que line, is the frog telling the story of brer rabbit.

EDIT: MBabe You are so right. How could I possibly forget the possums who are not in the Disneyland version.

Although to appease Disneyland fans, the disneyland version appears to have a steeper angle in the descent.

I don't think there are any open questions now, so here is a new one...

Category: Source Material

We know that Splash Mountain is based on Song of the South. However, Disney changed one of the major plot points from the movie when creating the ride for reasons of 'political correctness.' What did they change, and what was it replaced with?

carpedm... I'll gues the "Tar Baby" scene was changed... maybe to where they are going to roast Br'er rabbit?

:smooth:

Did they replace the "tar-baby" scene with Brer Rabbit getting tied up instead?

I agree with MBabe and PM...they got rid of the Tar Baby....

Aargh, MBabe...once again this slow Pirate has been outwitted by a (Dole Whip) wench. ;)

How about another question to keep the game a'hoppin'...

What brand of gas is for sale at Pete's Garage in Mickey's Toontown Fair?

MickeyBabe, Pirate Mickey and Higgs are all correct that the tar baby scene was removed from the ride. However, there is still an AAQ available for anyone who guess what scene replaced it.

It was not brer rabbit being tied up or him being roaster, since those scenes were in the movie.

A Tar'ed & feather'ed AAQ to MickeyBabe, Pirate Mickey, and Higgs.

Hey...did the Zip-A-Dee-Lady Boat Scene replace the Tar Baby?

I'll third MBabe & Carp and say Gulp Gas. I really have no idea but it just sounds good.

By the way fresh HOT Krispy Kremes for all!!!:p

carpedm...is it the plunge over the waterfalls scene that replaced the politically incorrect scene?

:smooth:

Nope, not the plunge, since that represents brer rabbit being thrown into the briar patch in the movie.

I may not have asked it correctly, so here is a hint: Think about what purpose the tar baby served in the movie. Now, what serves the same purpose on the ride?
