We will be hopping from AK to Epcot on one of our days in December and want to know the best way to get there. We have ADR's at Teppan Edo at 5:50 and was considering taking a bus to HS and then take the boat to the International Gateway entrance to Epcot. Would it be more efficient to just take a bus to Epcot from AK? TIA

The bus to DHS, then boat to Epcot is a good plan.
Japan is so FAR from Epcot's front gates (and so NEAR the International Gateway) that the boat from DHS is a great walking-saver.

(You CAN walk from DHS, but if you want to do that, then just take the direct bus from DAK to Epcot's front gates...
or bus to Beach Club... and walk to Japan.)

Regardless of which you choose, allow 70-85 minutes to make the total trip.

It will probably be faster to take the bus that goes to Beach Club-Yacht Club and walk to the IG entrance. The boat from DHS can take 30 minutes to get to IG and that is with perfect timing of meeting it at the dock.

That was my suggestion. DHS is too far. Get on a bus to BC or Boardwalk and then walk from there.

When I was there last week they had busses going from park to park now.

Yes. They have always had some form of park-to-park transportation.
(That's how guests can park-hop without needing a car.)

But, this particular question concerns multiple routes being available and, therefore, which route (or modes) would take less walking and/or less time.

Robo is correct. I am looking for the least amount of walking and hopefully the quickest route to get to Japan in the WS. I had not considered going to BC and then walking to Epcot. I will more than likely get on whichever bus shows up first at AK...BC or DHS.
