Park Hopper Plus - confused

We are going to WDW in a few weeks and it's our first trip during the summer months. We want to go to at least one of the water parks.

I am confused about the Park Hopper Plus ticket. If we go to a water park one of the "plus" options is used. Is one of your "hopper" day also used? What happens if you go to the water park in the morning and then go to MK at night? Is one of each (a hopper and plus option) used?

I asked these question at the Disney Store and I don't think this person knew what she was talking about because she also told me we could buy the actual APs - not the vouchers - at the Disney Store. I thought it was just vouchers.

Thanks for any help! :D

hi there! Here's the way it works. The hopper days are used for entry into the four major parks. The plusses can be used for entry to the water parks and Pleasure Island. If you go to Blizzard Beach, you will have used one plus. You will not have used any of your days. If you go to MK you will use one of your hopper days, not any of your plusses. If you go to Blizzard Beach in the morning and then in the evening you go to MK, you will have used one plus and one hopper day, respectively. Hope this helps.

OK, I'll try this one.

If you go to the water park, you use a plus but not one of your hopper days. If you go to the water park and then to MK that night then you DO use both a plus AND a hopper day. We go to either a park or to a water park in a day. We wouldn't want to use a day of our hopper on just part of a day. Also, just so you know, if you go to a water park in the day and then to Pleasure Island at night it will take two pluses.

As far as the AP, I think you can only get the actual AP at the parks. You only get a voucher at the DS.

Hope this all made sense.

Edited-- OOps. We must have been posting at the same time BrerKaren-----I'm a Karen too!

Thanks to you both! The girl at the Disney Store told me the wrong thing. She said if we went to a water park it would count as a Hopper day and a Plus day - that didn't make sense to me. :(

In defense of the CM at the Disney Store.... TDS has just started selling all of the different types of ticket media, and many CM's who work there aren't as familiar with them as others.

Here is what I tell guests when they have questions about the tickets:

You have a choice of 3 different Hopper Plus options, the 5, the 6 and the 7 day hopper plus passes.

Depending on which pass you choose, you will get a certain amount of plus options:
5 days will give you 2 options
6 days will give you 3 options
7 days will give you 4 options.

If you decide to stretch these hopper plus passes out, you could actually a 7 day vacation from the 5 day, a 9 day from the 6 day, and an 11 day from the 7 day pass. However, you cannot combine going to both a main park and a plus option on the same day for this to work.

So, for instance, you decided you wanted to buy the 5 day hopper plus. The 1st day you do MK, the 2nd Epcot, the 3rd- MGM, the 4th- AK, then hop over to Epcot for the evening, the 5th day you go to Blizzard Beach, the 6th day you return to the MK, and the last day you go to Typhoon Lagoon. This way you have maximized the benefit of your 5 day hopper pass.

However, if you go to MK the 1st morning then decide that for the afternoon you are going to Blizzard Beach, then you have used one main park day, and one plus option... you can still return to one of the main parks in the evening without it taking another main park day. But if you decide instead to go to PI that night, you have used 1 main park day and 2 options, leaving you with no more options for the rest of the trip.

This explanation seems to make it more clear for our guests, and I hope that it will help you decide how to best plan your vacation, depending on if maximizing your passes is a priority for you.

Take care and have a nice trip!

If you have 7 day park hopper plus (4 options), can you use all 4 options for Blizzard Beach ie., can you visit the waterpark for 4 days?

wdw_first_time - yes, if you want to go to BB 4 times with your 4 Pluses, you certainly can. :)

If you went to both water parks the same day, one morning and one afternoon would you use 2 plus options.
Could you get a stamp and go to the other water park?:smooth:

Could you get a stamp and go to the other water park?

No, but you could get a stamp and go back to the SAME water park in the same day.

If you go to BB in the morning and TL in the afternoon, regardless, you will still use 2 options.
