Anyone know if booking for December 2012 has begun yet, and if not, when it will? I went on to the WDW Website and put in our dates and it said that there was nothing available! I hope it's just because packages aren't available yet, but usually it says they aren't taking reservations yet....

Someone make me feel better!

I believe you can only book packages 499 days in advance. I did notice that the December room rates were similar to the end of October rates. If you went to the resort of your choice and under the "Room and Rates" go to Fall 2012 Weekday/Weekends and it will show you the rates there... so I priced a vacation package for Oct 22-27 w/park hopper for 2 adults and it was a little over $2,400 @WL

I believe that we should be able to book December 2012 around August once we get into the 499 day window.

Yep, just like everyone else said... it's still too early to book those dates. We're planning a December 2012 trip and I'm counting down the days until we can book!

OK good! Thanks everyone! I KNEW it was too early to book but I always "test" the site anyway.... and instead of saying they currently aren't taking ressies for those dates it just kept saying no rooms were available so I thought I missed something!

We're planning a big family trip with between 12 - 14 people so I'm really trying to stay on the ball since I'm doing all the planning! :cloud9: I love planning but sometimes I make myself sick over it!

I too am planning a trip to WDW for Dec 2012! Is there a special 499-day calculator device type thing can use to determine our exact 499 day? I have a feeling it's sometime this month that we can book! Am I right? Wrong?

:confused3

We are going Dec 2012 also :) I'm not sure when exactly since I would prefer to miss the heavy crowds, but get the Christmas atmosphere. It will be our Christmas presents to the kids, and our littlest DS will be celebrating his 2nd birthday.

Not yet...

And here is a question. I just saw that they released free dinning for the rest of 2011... if we book, and add/pay for dining and then they release free dining for 2012 too, how does that work? Would they refund you?

Have any of you ever been to WDW for the holiday season before? I'm thinking of a Dec. 2012 trip (haven't even had my 2011 trip yet :lmao:) but in reading about the crowds I'm a little nervous. People say the parks get closed? Anyone know if these is anything to do on NYE besides a park? Maybe DTD or a hotel having a party??

We were there in2007 for Dec 23 thru Jan 1, the crowds were lite the first few days then bam the crowds hit.

We handled it by getting to the parks right after or during rope drop, saw all the things we wanted to see and more. We left the parks around dinner, tho our teen kids stayed later, they managed the crowds just find.

The thing to remember is there will be crowds, that will slow you down but as long as you tell yourself not to let it bother you, take it in stride, plan around it, you will be fine. I just wanted to be there during that particular week because we celebrated our 35th wedding on Dec 29, it was important to me to be in Disney to do just that. In retrospect I am eternally grateful as there will be no more anniversaries to celebrate as my husband passed this past March, so I am glad I chose to navigate the crowds to fulfil a dream I had. No second chances for me.

Now for my next Christmas trip I am planning a bit earlier in December as I am planning for Dec 2 thru 12, 2012. Thinking the crowds will be less and I really want to be home for the holidays that year and my daughter and I want to do MVMCP, which had stopped by the time we arrived in 2007.

Just tried booking Dec 15-23 2012 but still won't let me. Seems like I can't get pass the 20th....I guess I will try in few days again
