I'm staying in a disney resort and know that you can get you purchases delivered to your hotel. Is this worth it or has anyone had any problems with it.

We always have our packages delivered to our hotel.

I admit we have had a problem a couple times in our multiple trips over the years. But those are few & FAR between.

AND when we did have problems, Disney took care of them right away. The first time something arrived broken & the hotel had a replacement for us later that evening. The other few times things have been lost in delivery & the hotel again had replacements or found the originals with in a day.

We will always used the package delivery. It is a great perk to staying onsite.

We've never had a problem, but keep in mind that you'll have to pick up your package at the guest services desk at your resort, and it's next day service.

I loved this feature. It was nice not to have to drag your purchases onto rides with you or even carry them around the parks for part of the day or evening. We never had a problem with them showing up when they said they would. They do not arrive until the next afternoon though so you have to make sure that you will still be at the resort, you can't have the packages delivered to your resort on the day that you are leaving. But it's a great perk for on-site guests.

We use it anytime we buy almost anything. We have had maybe only 2 or 3 problems in the last 10 years and they were not that severe and were taken care of right away. One of the times we got our merchandise and somebody elses, so just pay attention.

Love this perk. We use it pretty frequently. We just keep the stuff we want to use now, and have the rest delivered. I have never had a problem other than the package not being there when I had a message that it was. It turned up later. No biggie, still got my stuff.

Brilliant service. We were upgraded to concierge and had the packages delivered to our room, except for one occasion when it didn't appear and it was in the hotel gift shop. I always checked everything was there that I had bought. I purchased loads of Xmas decorations from DTD shop and they had been packed beautifully in loads of tissue paper and crossed the atlantic in one piece in our suitcase.

I tried it for the first time this past trip. I purchased something from the Rock'n'Roller coaster gift shop at like 9:00ish in the morning. The lady who helped me told me it would be delievered by the end of the day (I was leaving the next morning) and would be delivered to my room. I got back to the hotel around 10:30...went to my room and called the front desk. They explained that I needed to get it from the hotel shop. Made it there right before they closed...no package. They they told me that it delivered by 3:00p.m. the FOLLOWING day. sooo...never got my package!

I love this perk, but I will admit that when DH and I were there in July 2006, it took the CM's at POR a while to find our packages. Granted, it ws probably only 5-10 minutes, but for my Disney time, it can seem like an eternity! I do think one pick up took around 20 minutes though, and there wasn't a line... they spent the entire time looking for my package. In addition, the bus stop that we normally used was not anywhere near the gift shop, so we kind of had to go out of our way to pick up our items.

All the pros out weigh the cons in my opinion, and I will happily use the service again this September, but did want to share the other things, which you might want to consider.

Great service, just don't use it the day before you plan to leave. You just never know ;)

I LOVED this service :lovestruc . We always pick our packages up the next day. By then we've bought more stuff, ridden more rides, seen more shows, and completely forgotten about what we bought yesterday. When I got the packages they were always like brand new presents :cool1:

This service is one of the best perks of staying onsite. The only downside is you cannot use the service the day before you leave. I have had a few times where something has not shown up as expected (make sure to keep your receipts), and Disney got a replacement or found the original within a day.

Brilliant service. We were upgraded to concierge and had the packages delivered to our room,.

So if you are staying concierge they will deliver the package to your room?

That would be yet another great perk :thumbsup2

Karen :)

I think :confused3 I read on another post that you can even have pictures (from rides, Disney Visa character meet/greet) delivered to your resort. Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks in advance!

DH and I had pictures from the Buzz Lightyear ride delivered to our resort at the Boardwalk last year. We didn't have any problems. But, looking back on it, I guess I could see how pictures might get bent easily, and it seems like they could be more difficult to replace if they were damaged or lost in transit.

Something to keep in mind is that you can have your purchases shipped home. At least for me, it ended up being the same price because they didn't charge sales tax.
It works well if you buy a lot of breakable or bulky things like at the art of disney stores.
It arrives a few days after you do, so it's like an extension of the trip.
This is open to everyone, not just Disney Resort guests.

We have never had a problem with it.......Just remember the day before you check out they cannot guarantee it will make it to your resort in time so they won't send it.
Package Delivery is GREAT:cool1::cool1:

We always use this great perk! Most often there are no problems but there was one time where the package didn't get delivered when they said it would and we did have to go home without our package......... we were assured since it was their mistake, they would round up the items OR the original package and mail it to our home.

Which they did. (they found the original package which I figured would happen)

It's really a great perk of staying on site!

The last day of your trip you can sometimes have the items delivered to the front of the park and pick them up as you're leaving. Check with the store clerk to see if you've missed the cut-off for that service.

If it is something large then yes it is worth it. If it is small you can always rent a locker and place it in there for the day.
