Over the River and Through the Woods to Mickey's House We Go! And Grandma is in Tow!

I'm relieved but won't be fully relieved until we get the results. The doctor bill made my headache even worse!

By the way, if you go to the Vera Bradley site, I heard that you can use one of two coupons....save20sale or mcsave17. I didn't read about the coupons until I had already ordered. Wouldn't you know it!

I did find the mcsave17 coupon..that makes the hipster $15.77! But $19 was still a fantastic deal! Now I just need to justify buying ONE MORE BAG! :rolleyes1

Glad to hear you've gotten a little relief on Lacey's condition. I hope the tests come back and it's nothing severe. That talk about insurance makes me really grateful that Joe has wonderful insurance. I hope you can find a policy to help out-it's crazy what you were charged today. :sad2:

Glad you were able to apply the coupon. I didn't even know about the coupon until after I had already placed my order.

I'm a little relieved just not fully relieved yet. Insurance drives me crazy! I said that I lost my insurance when I left my job but actually I lost it before I left my job. That's one of the reasons I left. My boss let our insurance lapse then went out and got himself insurance but none for me. Ticked me off to no end!

I am glad you've gotten some answers about Lacey. I'll keep you guys in my prayers, still.

Whoa Nellie! What a Dr. bill. I can't believe that's with a 30% discount. :scared1:

At least you got a great deal on your Vera Bradley stuff! :goodvibes

I'm glad that you got a little relief- but that bill...WHOA! :scared1:

You can imagine my surprise when she called with the total bill. I figured it'd be somewhere in the $150 to $200 range if he took blood.

Wow Lisa! I just got caught up and I'm going right now to say a prayer for Lacey! I hope they are able to determine what caused her to faint and that she feels better soon!

Thanks for the prayers. I am still very worried and will be until I get the final test results.

Please continue the prayers. Unless I get those test results, I won't be a happy mama.

The bill certainly threw me for a loop! I mean, who can prepare for a $894 bill?

Glad to hear Lacey is ok. OUCH!!!! What a dr bill!!!

Yep, that doctor bill was something else!

:scared1: It's shocking how large that bill was, huh? All that just for bloodwork & office exam? Did they do an echo of her heart to test for the arrythmia? It just seems extreme to me. And I know about the cost of healthcare, too, because cancer therapies/drugs are so very expensive.

I'll keep you all in my prayers & include one for you finding affordable health insurance, as well. It's a sorry state our country is in when people can't get affordable health care.

I know what you mean about not being happy until the tests come back. After 10 months of testing & not knowing just what's wrong with Somer, I feel your pain. I'm hoping Lacey's problems can be an easy fix & not too expensive.

:scared1:Wow!! I would cry with a bill like that!
Paige had Mono over Thanksgiving. I think she was diagnosed a week or 2 before. She's still a bit run down and tired, but she's alot better. It's a long time to get over it. She also got really constipated with it and still is not regular. Lots of bloody noses as well with it. She was just so tired al lthe time too.

I hope it is not mono for Lacey's sake. gwendolyn had mono her 10th grade year. She was so tired, she could not get out of her bed, lost weight, stayed with a sinus infection. and when she gets stressed now she starts with mild to mildly severe symptoms the doctor told she would get that until she was about 25-28 yrs old. Dayne had mono last year and he too was so tired, fever, and severe sinus infection along with a nasty infected throat (even the doctor said his throat was disgusting). He does still wear down quick but I think he is anemic...Dayne rarely gets stressed so we will have to see as his life progesses.
Whoa! on the bill I just hope that included the lab work :scared1:...

If you next go round on insurance is a bust you need to check into ind policies for you and the kids...a girl I worked with did that for her and dgt. she could not find insurance for her husband. Also, for Hunter LA state has a policy for people like you that work and do not have ins for $50 a month through UHC you may want to check into it. It is through the LACHIP program.

Good Luck! and I will certaintly keep praying for Lacey and you guys!

BTW great job on the VB!!!! :yay:

Lisa, prayers are going up here for Lacey, too. I'm glad they think it's all fairly simple...all at once, of course, but still. I'll say another prayer that they get the tests results back before the weekend starts so that you can breathe again, Mom!! :grouphug:

I haven't been over here in ages, so I need to catch up a bit. Yuck about the migraines - I hear your pain!! I have to admit that the medicine I'm on now makes a world of difference. I started to get one during our statewide standardized testing (I get the flashes beforehand, so I know when it's going to be bad), took the medicine right away, and I made it through without curling up in a ball. Once you get back on insurance, maybe you can look into it.

I'm heading over to the Vera Bradley site now...so much for getting to bed early! :rolleyes1

Keep us posted on Lacey!

I was behind, so sorry Lacey is not feeling well. Am praying that you get the results back asap. That Dr bill is a disgrace-I am so sorry about the insurance. I also have been having terrible headaches this week-not migraines but close-no fun. Congrats on the VB purchases.

Thanks for letting me know about the CBR pics in your trip reports! I finished reading your "Stop Making Me Laugh..." TR and just made it through this one. I've enjoyed reading them both and can't wait to hear more!!

I hope everything is okay with your daughter. Sending my best wishes that everything turns out all right. :flower3:

Sorry I fell behind.:sad2: and...I'm so sorry to hear about Lacey not feeling well. I hope the test results came back and everything is alright. I'll keep her in my prayers.

Morning to all my Dis friends!

I just have a minute but wanted to let you guys know that the rest of Lacey's test results have come back fine. No H1N1, anemia, mono, low blood sugar or anything else they tested for.

She probably had some kind of virus along with being super tired and not eating well after a week doing their conferences and volunteer work. She comes in contact with so many people going to college, working in the homeless shelter, helping with children's church, etc. so that's probably where she caught the virus.

She has an appointment to see a cardiologist to read the test results of the EKG just to confirm that the sinus arrythmia is not life threatening. If the cardiologist doesn't see the need for more tests, the cost of the appointment will be around $300.00 which isn't too bad. Several couples at the church have volunteered to pay the cardiologist bill. At first, I told her absolutely not. We are not broke and can afford to pay it ourselves. However, Lacey said that she had volunteered to help some of these people move, babysat, took them food when they were sick, etc. and they said this was just a repayment. I'm still not sure how I feel about it though.

The people at Lacey's church have given her a new nickname.....Flutter...in honor of her fluttering little heart.

I thank you all so very much for your prayers. I ask that you please continue to pray for her until she sees the cardiologist.

I'm so glad to hear everything seems OK. I bet she was just overdoing it too.

We'll continue to pray for her. Glad to hear the bloodwork came back okay. Hope the arrythmia isn't too bad. I think it's great that Lacey is helping out some couples and they are helping her out. Shows what kind of girl Lacey is Momma. You should be very proud of her. :goodvibes

I'm so glad to hear Lacey is doing well! I know you must be so happy and I hope the ekg goes well also:goodvibes

This is good news, Lisa, and I am sure the cardiologist report will be fine. But I'll be saying prayers until then.

I'm so glad to hear that Lacey's labs came back normal. I know you feel better about that. I agree with you that she was most likely just worn out. I can remember when I was 21 and didn't give one thought to slowing down and taking care of me. I would go for days on a couple of cokes and Lance crackers..........:lmao:. I got really sick in 1986 and didn't have a clue what was going on. I was extremely tired and run down, high fever, and aches like I had never had before. I went to the doctor and not only was I run down from not taking care of myself, but I had Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever :scared1:. My ex-husband and I, along with our friends, had thrown a big ole bonfire party in the woods and I guess that is how I got bit by a tick. Can we say Dana comes down with the weirdest stuff? :lmao:
