Our un-magical Day

Okay, that explains this. :rotfl2:

4 other sites and this message board as well as another big disney message board.

That's awesome.

Don't you just love how, because she went on a surprise birthday trip, and no knowledge that she was getting this impromptu trip, that Disney is to blame for the bad time, even though the person who planned the trip (guessing husband here) had to know something in advance.

Maybe for their next vacation they'll go to the beach and she'll complain that there was sand everywhere.

Wow . . . just wow. Pathetic. Please . . . QUIT your day job.

Got my afternoon giggle. CRAZY

I'm glad the CM's are patrolling the CS restaurants. When I go I'm alone with my niece and more than 50% of the time I can't find a table. All the families with two parents are sitting at them holding the table while the other adult is getting food.

At least now it's fair.

I noticed the OP and JamesDean (same person? spouse? bff?) didn't retort on the other site they posted this on.

That is a terrible experience OP. Sending some pixiedust: for a much more magical experience on your next visit.

It's a straight copy and paste from other sites and there are a lot of red flags in the OP's post. The original posting is most likely a troll posting.

If my Hubby were taking me on an impromptu trip (even if it was somewhere I hadn't been 20 times before), I would STILL manage to know SOMETHING about what to expect when I got there because I have this thing called the internet and I would be looking things up on line while I was in the car on the way there.

Honestly, we don't go in a restaurant on a road trip without at least reading some reviews on Yelp while we are sitting in the parking lot outside.

There's no way I'd go on even an impromptu day trip with four children without doing SOME kind of looking things up ahead of time.

And as for the fast pass plus sucking. I have not been to Disney World since it has been implemented, and yes, it does sound like a let down to me compared with the old system. But three fast passes is more than you get at Universal without paying extra or staying on site. Something is better than nothing, and if I couldn't get fast passes for the headline attractions, I'd still be able to find plenty of things to do to keep my entire family very happy in spite of it. For us, even if we didn't get to ride anything beyond TTA, we'd still think we were having a magical day. It doesn't need to be perfect to be magical, and its all a matter of attitude and what you make of it.

Finally, about the moat. Disneyworld is open 365 days a year. There is ALWAYS a ton of maintenance and upgrades that need to be done. They can't do it all during the overnight hours when the park is closed, so there is always going to be some ride being refurbished, something being painted or repaired. It's just a fact of life.

This is what everyone is getting at, IMHO. You'd think the person that put this trip together, regardless of how impromptu it was, would have put the effort into planning it. Especially if they are related to someone who is a travel agent.

Sure, we all like to leave work at work, but over the years I'm sure you learn a few things from your spouse. In this case, you can't tell me the (husband) planner didn't pick up a few things about planning a vacation.

I don't think the OP is a troll. I think she is just very upset and is merely overreacting by posting her ordeal all over the internet. It happens when we let our emotions get the better of us. Unfortunately, no one has taken any type of sympathy for her. And I completely understand why. But as someone who has been misunderstood on a message boards, I felt the need to offer her some compassion. As I think she just needs a  and not to be laughed at.

It's just hard for me to believe someone who claims to have been to Disney 20 times and yet didn't know where the parking lot was for the MK or that the castle isn't tourable. Add the travel agent aspect, I just don't know that the OP is being totally forthright.

People can certainly have the wrong expectations and have terrible Disney trips. This just doesn't appear to be Disney's fault the way they want it to be.

Yes, but if she is a travel agent as she claims to be, her story doesn't look good at all.

The last person you would expect to come onto any type of site and totally vent about something like this, and the way that it unfolded, would be a travel agent.

I used the OP as a travel agent once. She booked my flight, hotel, rental car, and dinner reservations. When I got to the airport they had the nerve to put me in coach! Coach, not first class. The in flight movie was horrible and they wouldn't change it for me! I was so disgusted with the trip at this point that I asked them to turn the plane around and take me home. Can you believe they had the nerve to tell me no, something about FAA regulations. I was so upset, they wouldn't even give me a free dessert! I got on another plane and went straight home. This "Travel Agent" wouldn't even give me my money back!! The nerve of some people!!

I'm assuming the OP and this person are one and the same:

Unless there's another travel agent Katiebug with children of the same names and ages. Ten years ago she was also losing her ish about wanting to meet Cinderella, having problems getting to a reservation on time, and having to enter the castle through the back entrance. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

And they hadn't planned properly for that trip either. Budgeting less than an hour to make it to an ADR? That is just asking to be late!:sad2:

HAS to be the same.

Soooooo..... She knew about the parking lot. She knew it can take some time to get to the gate. She knew that to get in the castle, one must be dining. She's been a TA for more than 10 years but can't handle minimal planning (or learning from the past)?

I could go on.

SMH

How is she still in business as a travel agent? She's undoubtedly booked things for clients over the years and probably made them miss reservations!!!!

The 2003 thread shows that she couldn't even plan to be there early then!!!

Why on earth would you ever put a reservation in jeopardy by only leaving an hour? She's lucky she got in back then and they didn't have the charge for missed appts. on the CC otherwise she was SOL, haha.

This just keeps getting better and better.
