Our Trip of Firsts, Dec 4-11, 2005 (with photos)

Hi Kim...what a great trip report!

I have a question regarding the time that you were there and Pop Warner. I just made a reservation for the weekend of Dec. 8 - 11 of this year and I guess that is the end of the Pop Warner week. I've read different posts, some stating they never knew the Pop Warner kids were there and others saying to avoid that week. Did you find the parks overly crowded with Pop Warner kids?? I understand about the Pop Century and All Stars being crowded, as well as the food courts, but I'm more interested in your experience at the parks.

Hi Kathy!!

I had no problems with Pop Warner at all that week. I did notice they were there, but in drips and drabs...and they weren't obnoxious or anything like I've read about. I wonder if I didn't KNOW about them, if I'd notice. Probably not!!

Have a great time! And celebrate my birthday on the 8th!! haha

Now, if you’ve been with my trip report from the beginning, you’ll remember my brilliant idea to back the van up to the garage to save us some time the morning we left. Well….my brilliant idea wasn’t so brilliant. In doing so, as we pulled out of the driveway, we never SHUT the garage door!!! My neighbor realized after a full 24 hours, that we weren’t coming home anytime soon, and she called the police. They were able to shut the door somehow, after making sure the rest of the house was still locked & secure.

And can you believe that we did EXACTLY THE SAME THING for our Disney trip in September? Right down to the neighbors taking 24 hours to figure it out.

BTW, I loved your birthday shirt - I already checked out the designs and will probably do one for my daughter for her birthday next year.

This would totally be my fil. I made a small suggestion last nite that we are going in April 07 to watch our dd march in the Magic Kingdom during Easter. He turned up his nose and said, acck, why would you do that and spend so much money. So, I am going to keep dropping hints, maybe they will decide to go with us, but I doubt it. Maybe I need to tell him, I'll buy all the popcorn he wants and he can wander away 10 minutes on the hour each hour.

Awww, I really, really enjoyed your report, Kim! We were there that same week, at SSR too, with our 3 little boys. We probably crossed paths. We were also at MGM that very rainy Thursday, we spent a couple hours inside Pizza Planet to avoid the rain!! Have fun on your next trip!

Yes we did, it was neat seeing the World during the holidays and doing MVMCP for the first time. Our next trip we're doing MNSSHP for the first time. Can't wait! I didn't do a trip report, I could never write as well as so many people on here do, like you!!

Aw, come on now...did you read my report from 2004?? ANYONE can write better than that!!! I just spent last year reading a lot of reports...and thought...they are writing like I think!! So I just wrote exactly what my thoughts were at that time!! haha

You'll have a great time at MNSSHP!! We loved it in '04!

I really loved reading your reports. My DD is RIGHT between your 2 in personality it seems like. She's about to turn 5. She is almost 43" SO I've been slowly gearing her up (watching online video) for the new rides she can do. I LOVED your B-Day t-shirt. You will HAVE to help me. I'm going over my birthday in June and have ordered those going with us that ON MY BIRTHDAY I GET MY WAY!!! Everyother day.. ya'll can LOL
