Our September 2011 Pre-Trip Adventure!! (Update 09/29/2011 - Link to TR!)

I LOVE Krispy Kreme, espcially HOT NOW, I can eat 3 in about 30 seconds!
Your calender looks great. I will have to do that on my next trip.
Good luck with getting your O'Hana resv.

Yay, a countdown calendar.

My advice is to be patient about the opening of the dessert party dates. It honestly seemed like it took forever to open up for ours.

You can book the dessert party online and that's how I would be able to check regularly if the date had become available or not. Obviously I knew it was available the day that it allowed me to book it! :rotfl:

Yay - about time! I feel like I have been planning for this trip forever so it is good to be able to mark down days.

I will try though as you may have noticed patience is not a strength of mine! I keep checking on a daily basis and keep expecting to see the message saying that this dining event is not scheduled to take place on these dates. I think I will actually be in shock on the date I actually can book it and will have to check that it is actually allowing me to do so! :rotfl:

86 days....wow, I can't believe it's coming so fast....after I post I have to figure out how many days we have left...I've kinda stopped looking:confused3

I love your countdown calendar....it's fantastic!! I hope you had a great weekend!!

I know - I can't believe it either! Days sure are flying by at the minute. You have a lot going on at the minute so it's understandable that you have not had time to check how many days are left for you guys. I really hope everything works out for the best :goodvibes

Thank you! I love the DISign boards - have been using them for my planning binder as well. Our colour printer is not working properly which is why they turned out pink - they should have been the colours of Pop.

I've been away from the DISboards for a week... I've got some catching up to do! :surfweb:

I'm just going to repeat what others have said about MNSSHP: it really is a fun event! And I'm not even a big fan of Halloween, LOL! HalloWishes is great, and the Boo to You! parade is, by far, the best parade at WDW. And getting to see the characters all dressed up in costumes is the best part!

You sure have - hope you had a great week away!

Yep everyone has voted for us to go and I keep reminding Zaheer of this! :lmao: I'm going to mention that people who are not a fan of Halloween enjoyed it as well - maybe that will help. I had a look at some photos and videos over the weekend - Hallowishes and the parade look like great fun!

Love the Countdown calendar. Nothing wrong with starting a little early, right?

I hope that you are able to get Ohanna and the Dessert Party! Keep us posted.

Thank you - no nothing wrong with starting early as it seems like I have been planning for ages! Just wish Sept would get here now! ;)

I hope so as well - will def keep you posted :goodvibes

Great countdown calendar! Never too early to start... we've had our chain going since March! :rotfl: Hope you had a great weekend and good luck on the Dessert party and 'Ohana. :teeth: Fingers crossed!

Thank you! Wow, wish I had started that early as well! I love your countdown chain.

I had a good weekend thanks - stuffed myself silly with Krispy Kreme donuts! :teeth: Thanks for crossing your fingers - will let you know when both things are booked so you can uncross them. Hope you don't end up in pain when that time arrives! :rotfl2:

Love the Calender!!! I (along with everyone else on here lol) Hope you decide to do MNSSHP!

Thank you! Not long until Sept now! :yay: I hope so as well - I really want to just book them as once they are paid for then it is settled that we are going. However, the nice side of me is telling me not to do it :rolleyes1

Good luck with getting your O'Hana resv.

I'm the same!! :rotfl: I'm meant to be watching what I'm eating so I do not feel guilty at having lots of goodies on our trip. However, I made an exception for Father's day weekend - any excuse really! :rolleyes1

I heated one up for breakfast and had it with a nice cup of coffee. Still have half a dozen in the fridge with my name on them!

Thank you - it sure is helping with passing the time and even Zaheer is getting involved with it. I hope we manage to secure an O'hana ressie but then it also means I have to rethink our ADRs again!

Good to see you back on the boards Stefy! Hope the wedding planning is going okay and work has eased up. Thank you for catching up :goodvibes

Bambi never used to be my fav classic Disney, I think it had something to do with really upsetting me when I was young (same as you when his mother dies).

I didn't like it when Bambi's mother dies either, especially when I was younger. However, watching it again recently has made me appreciate it a bit more and I enjoyed watching it.

Love Little April Showers song, v cute and Thumper comes out with some great lines

"Eating greens is a special treat, It makes long ears and great big feet. But it sure is awful stuff to eat." I made that last part up myself"

I love April Showers as well. Laughed out loud at Thumper's one liners and the bit you added! :rotfl: Am sure many kids have said that about greens, myself included!

Ok first off, those fireworks are not just any old fireworks. HalloWishes is amazing and by far the best display at Disney (although Wishes is a close second). The song they use is awesome and goes so well, the first time we saw it we just stood there in awe mouths agape

I have been watching videos of Hallowishes and they look amazing! :lovestruc I can't even imagine seeing them in person - I really hope I get to.

Another plus for MNSSHP are the characters, you get to see some rare ones as well as only special to MNSSHP too. Plus Mickey and Minnie in their costumes (and all the other characters) are just too cute :)

I would love to meet the Seven Dwarves and see the other characters dressed up for Halloween.

and last, but certainly by no means least, Mickey's Boo to You Parade. Awesome parade and song. Go on to my last TR and see all the character photos we managed to get as well as the parade and show Zaheer (hopefully it will sway him) :)

Yep, seen vids of the parade as well - love it! I went on your last TR and enjoyed looking at all the pics :thumbsup2 I also showed them to Zaheer - although he appreciated them don't think he had the same reaction as I did! :lmao: Btw I love that you got to draw Stitch with the CM - that is amazing!

Glad to hear you are feeling better. There is defo something going around, my colleagues at work are dropping like flies, so not fun :(

Thank you. There sure is - I know so many people that have a cold/flu bug at the minute. So not good - think it may be the ever changing UK weather! :sad2:

I love Up, something a wonderful film. I must say that the opening montage is one of the most amazing and sad opening scenes, I tear up every single time.

The characters are awesome, esp Dug such a cutey bless him. I've just added the digital copy to my iPad (along with Princess and the Frog and Tangled) so am all set for the plane with my Disney films :teeth:

Hope you are enjoying your Sunday :)

I am so glad to read that so many other people have teared up over the opening scene as well and it is not just me getting over emotional! Makes a change!

Yes Dug sure is a cutey. You sure are all set for your plane journey with them movies - should keep you going for a bit!

I had a good Sunday, thanks! Hope you had a good weekend :goodvibes

I love your countdown calendar! I never go to the creative section of the DIS, I should check that out! I'm planning to make my countdown calendar this weekend, but I'm not really sure what to do, so I might just end up doing what I did last year! :confused3

Keep checking for that 'Ohana reservation! I wanted a Le Cellier ADR for our first night on our trip last year, and I tried getting one for weeks and there was nothing! I was ready to give up, and finally I got one!

The calendar looks awesome. :) Those couple of months are going to pass really fast, you will see.

That is too bad for the ITTBAB. It is a cool attraction. I am sure you will find many of cool experiences at AK to make up for it.

Keep trying for Ohana. Something always shows up. Just look every day.

Have a great day!

Wedding planning is coming along great thanks, been ordering up a storm of last little bits and pieces.

Keep working on Zaheer for MNSSHP, I am sure he will come around :)

The countdown calender is awesome! :thumbsup2 I love the colors. And I think you did well by waiting until June to start one! I think I had one when I was 110 days out on my trip. :confused3  Good luck waiting for the Wishes dessert times. I know another DIS member who had to wait approximately until 2 months before her trip for them to announce dates. It's definitely a waiting game.

Thank you! You should check out the creative section when you have time - there are so many talented people on it! I could never come up with the designs they do :thumbsup2 Looking forward to seeing your countdown calendar. I never saw your one from last year so either way it'll be new to me :goodvibes

I plan to keep checking! Hopefully one day I will be able to post that I have got an ADR! ;)

Thank you! I sure hope they do - July is nearly here so not long to go! ;)

I was a bit sad when I found out but am sure we will have a great time anyway. I probably would have screamed out loud during ITTBAB anyway!

I will keep looking - check it at least once per day.

Have had a great day, thanks! Hope you are having a good week as well :goodvibes

Keep working on Zaheer for MNSSHP, I am sure he will come around :)

Am glad to hear everything is coming along nicely - I see you have been busy with your purchases, lol! Hey, if you can't indulge for your wedding when can you do it ;)

Still going - will let you know if there is any change! :)

Aaw thank you! I really can not take credit for it as I just amended someone else's design :goodvibes I really couldn't hold out any longer! :lmao: Was hoping to start in July but don't know how I lasted this long!

Wishes dessert party is def a waiting game - they sure like to leave it until the last minute!

Hi everyone! Hope you are all enjoying your week!

The movie I watched this week was:

101dalmatians-1.jpg

I have seen this one before but still enjoyed watching it again. I loved the way Roger and Anita met in the park and how they both fell in the river! :lmao:

All the puppies were soo cute - my little sister watched it with me and now wants a puppy! :rotfl: We both enjoyed when the puppies were named and how each name related to their personality.

I hated Cruella and laughed when she fell in the sewage! Was glad when she was caught.

Anyway, what are your thoughts on this one? :)

I have actually seen this the whole way through, just bits and pieces. But Glenn Close is brilliant (as always). Watching with real live puppies is not better, but still cute, who can resist those little spotty dogs :cutie:

This is another one I'm not sure my girls have seen! I know they've seen the original animated version.

I have never seen the version with actual people, but I love the animated version! I think it's time Brandon and I start watching a Disney movie each week, we're getting closer to our trip now!

Glenn Close sure is brilliant! She always plays her characters so well.

The puppies sure are cute, aren't they? ;)

This is another one I'm not sure my girls have seen! I know they've seen the original animated version.

You should watch it with your girls if you can - I'm thinking they are animal lovers after the cat posts earlier. If so, they will love this movie. I don't think I have seen the animated version - may have to get round to watching it.

I will have to try and watch the animated version then as I do not recall doing so. I know - can't believe how close our trips are getting! July is here next week! :cool1:

I'm still here! :wave2:

First, congratulations on double-digit dancing AND making the countdown calendar! That all makes it more real, doesn't it? :hyper:

I hope you can convince Zaheer to do MNSSHP! We have never gone, but I LOVE reading people's reviews of it all - it sounds amazing! The non-existent wait times, the parade and fireworks are worth the ticket price. I have NEVER read a review from someone that said it wasn't worth the money.

I haven't seen the live-action 101 Dalmatians, and honestly forgot there even was one! We own a copy of the animation and watch it quite frequently, it's one of Henry's favorites.

Hi! I'm back! I was catching up, and I see you haven't decided on MNSSHP yet. Any progress?

I haven't seen the 101 Dalmations that you have. I will have to check out the libaray.

Yep, they both are animal-lovers. My oldest used to say she wanted to be a "baby doctor AND an animal doctor" when she grew up.

We have one dog, and both girls are asking for another... as well as a guinea pig, rabbit, or ferret! And yes, Youngest still wants a kitten!

Good to hear from you again Brook! Have just been catching up on your TR!

Thank you - yes having the calendar and being in double digits does make the trip seem more real. We have also done another thing this week that means no going back now - not that I would ever want to! Will be sharing in a few minutes.

I know - I have heard the same about MNSSHP and want to go. Am still trying to convince Zaheer. Hopefully he'll agree with me and want to attend.

Lol I can imagine with kids that animated movies get the vote over the live ones. Am glad it is Henry's favourite - he sure has great taste! :thumbsup2

Yay, glad to see you back on here! No progress yet on MNSSHP which is why I have not mentioned it. Still working my charm!

Yes, def check it out as we love the live version.

I thought that would be the case! Lol at the number of animals they want - if they are like my sister then you will end up being the one looking after them once the novelty of having the new pet has gone! ;)

Hi everyone! Hope you are all having a good weekend so far!

Mine has been good – went shopping but before I share what I bought I have some more news which makes our trip seem that much nearer!
Our flights are now paid in full!!! :dance3:

I can’t believe how close this trip is getting – 79 days today!!! :cool1: Four more days of June left! We will then be able to take down our first month of the countdown calendar - we can't wait!!

Anyway I was good on my shopping trip – didn’t want to spend too much and went to look at sale stuff with my holiday in mind!

I found this first dress and fell in love with it!

51000722_large-1.jpg

It is perfect and fits in all the right places. It was one of those that I knew I would wear many times and when I tried it on at home did not want to take it off! I also love that it can be worn during the day as well as the evening. I’m thinking of wearing it to our dinner at Chefs de France as I can change into it when we return to Pop for our rest.

Now this second dress is where I need your help.

51000736_large-1.jpg

I like it but it just doesn’t make me feel the same way as the last dress did. The main reason I like it is because of it’s neckline.

DSC00046-1.jpg

It’s not normally a colour I wear so am not sure how it would go against the tan I get during our trip. I have not removed the tag yet but am thinking even if I don’t wear it at Florida I can wear it on a night out in Manchester. Also if I took it with me am not sure where I would wear it. I’m thinking California Grill and then I could wear the original dress I had planned to wear here to Artist Point (blurry pic below - sorry!)

DSC00013-1-1.jpg

Hope I’m making sense! Also I’m not sure what I would accessorise the new dress with. I have some metallic flat sandals that I think would match and then could just wear some studs and a ring.

So what do you think?
Should I keep the dress?
Should I take it on our trip and if so where should I wear it?

Thanks in advance for your help :goodvibes
