Our September 2011 Pre-Trip Adventure!! (Update 09/29/2011 - Link to TR!)

Double Digit Dancing! I will be doing the same dance tomorrow!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Yay!!! Happy dancing!!! :dance3: :dance3:

LOVE, LOVE Bambi.:cloud9: It reminds me my older DD, when she was young about 3. She was watching Bambi for the first time. When Bambi & Thumper were playing on the ice, she laughed so hard, just the deep belly baby giggles. And when Bambi's mom died, Sam cried so hard. It's such a strong memory in my mind.

I  it too! I was the same - laughed when Bambi kept falling over on the ice and cried when his mum died. I love the things you remember as a result of a Disney movie! :thumbsup2

I love Bambi! Thumper is one of my favorite Disney characters! I can't watch Bambi too much though, like I can watch other Disney movies, because it really is too sad. :) It's such a sweet movie, though!

I love it too! Thumper sure is great - I hope I run into him on our trip. It is sweet and not as sad as some of the other movies though can understand your reason not to watch it. Like I mentioned I thought I would cry over this one so was glad when I didn't! It makes a change...:lmao:

I love Bambi  I think it is one of the best Disney movies ever. Flower is totally my favourite

I have to agree with you - It is one of my favourites! :thumbsup2 Flower is great though I related more with Thumper.

Thumper's the best!

"If you can't say something nice.......don't say anything at all."

He sure is, isn't he? I love that quote and was laughing out loud when he said it just because of the memories I have of that sentence!

Congrats on double digits!

I haven't seen Bambi in forever. It's not one of favorites, but I like it. I need to watch it....I barely remember what happens!

I will be double digit dancing tomorrow as well. Or... 30 minutes from now my time. :cool1:

Bambi is one of my favorites, but DH is not a fan. He finds it dull, but personally I love shouting "BIRD".

Thank you!! I was so pleased to finally be in double digits!

Definitely watch Bambi when you have time. Fair play on it not being your favourite but I'm glad you like it! :thumbsup2

Lol Double Digits for you too!! :cool1: :woohoo: :cool1:

Bambi sure is great - at least your DH has an opinion on it. If you mentioned Bambi to Zaheer he would just be like 'what the heck is that?'!! :lmao: Haha maybe I should shout "BIRD" to everyone I see today - they sure will be confused!

I love Bambi...I too used to cry when his mother was killed, but I'm ok now!:thumbsup2 Thumper is too cute, but Flower was always a fav of mine:love:

Congrats on the double digit dancing! :cool1::thumbsup2:cool1:

Thank you!! 93 days today - not that I'm counting!! :lmao:

It's great, isn't it? I used to be the same but was so glad that I'm ok now and do not need any tissues! Just wish I could say the same when watching Lion King! :rotfl:

Thumper sure is cute but I can understand Flower being a fav :thumbsup2

Hi Tanz! Just getting caught up from vacation - I'm really trying to get up to date on all my subscriptions this weekend so I feel like I can get my TR started without falling further behind, I'm getting closer!

I'm not going to go back and comment on everything, I'll just start back with your current movie of the week - I love Bambi! It holds a special place in my heart because it's one of the first movies that I have a vivid memory of seeing in the theaters. Now, no, I wasn't born in 1942 when it was originally released, so I must have seen it on a re-release. I remember being very frightened during the fire scene and clinging to my mom, I was so afraid they were all going to die!

Oh, and congrats on being in the double digits!!!

Hi Michelle! Thanks for getting caught up - I can't wait to jump on board for your TR and hear all about AKL and the cruise!

No probs - I just mentioned CS choices which I think have already been mentioned before at some point whilst planning our days! Bambi is awesome! It's the same for me - it's one of the first movies I remember but I didn't watch it in the theatres. Thanks for clarifying - was wondering how you got to see the original! :lmao: Yes, that fire scene was not nice - I was so hoping for Bambi to come back and rescue Faline before anything happened to her.

Thank you for the congrats - I just wish September would hurry up and arrive especially as we have had miserable weather this weekend.

Hi everyone! Hope you are all okay and enjoying this fine weekend! Nothing fine about it for me personally. The weather has been miserable and to top things off have been in bed with a rotten bug for most of the weekend. What a waste :sad2:

Anyway am feeling a bit better today so have spent some time catching up on here. I don't really have much to update on this week apart from that I spent some time during the week compiling our snacks list - can't wait to try them all! popcorn::

I do have a bit of a dilemma that I need some help with. I was thinking whilst resting that I really do want to attend MNSSHP - it just sounds so good and I do not want to miss my chance of enjoying a party at Disney World!

So I mentioned it to Zaheer expecting him to say he doesn't want to go but he said he would have a look at the party on you tube and decide. He had a look at a few videos this weekend and then said it's just about candy and a few extra fireworks! :sad2: He said we could watch the fireworks from the beach (Poly) like planned.

I need your help to try and change his mind and get him on board!

Question of the week: How do I convince Zaheer that MNSSHP is more then just candy and fireworks??

We haven't been yet, so I don't have any wisdom to part...the crowds should be lower, so maybe you can ride on rides without a wait? The parade is special and has some cool features like the ghosts from the Haunted Mansion...

My girls LOVE Halloween, and I am thinking that this party will replace it for them once they are older...

Glad you are feeling better...hope you are back to 100% soon!

Oh my word, the party is MUCH more than just candy and fireworks. Hallowishes is something you simply must experience from the park. It's wonderful and though the beach at the Poly is a nice way to see it, you have to be immersed in the party to have the greatest effect.

Dressing up is not required but is tons of fun, there are characters out and about that aren't there other times of the year, the music is addictive and you'll be singing it to yourself years to come....

Mickey's Boo to You Halloween parade is the BEST and is an absolute must see. From the Headless Horseman to the Grave Diggers with their shovels... you would love it!

Hmmm, I don't know how to help you convince Zaheer to go to MNSSHP, but I hope you figure out a way to do it! :thumbsup2 I haven't been yet, but from what I've heard, it's amazing, it's supposed to be a lot better than the Christmas party, and I love that! It seems like there are so many extra things at the Halloween party, the parade with the Headless Horseman, Hallowishes, trick or treating, the VILLAINS!! All the fun photopass pics you can get, like with the hitchhiking ghosts, and with Cinderella's coach, and the 7 Dwarfs! You can only meet them at the party! And you can also see normal characters, like Mickey and Minnie, in costume!

I can't wait! :cool1:

You MUST go to the party! Crowds are low and you can ride rides over and over and over....Jasmine and I rode Splash Mountain 3 times in a row without getting out of our log because no one was waiting....BTMRR was the same!

HalloWishes is amazing....I don't think words can express how awesome this fireworks display is!

You will see characters that are dressed up in costumes which you will never see anywhere else! The whole feel of the park was amazing and the parade is ..... WOW!!!! The Headless Horseman alone is worth it!!!

We loved MNSSHP when we went, it was so much fun! I agree with Mickey_Mom, you have to be in the park for Hallowishes to truly experience it, and the Boo to You Parade is the best Disney parade I've ever seen. Not to mention wait times for the rides are minimal. Oh, and the characters all dressed up in their Halloween costumes are so cute too!

No probs - you still have given me plenty of help so thank you.

I'm glad your girls love Halloween - at least you won't have to try to persuade them to go to a party! ;)

Thanks - I'm feeling 80% better so hopefully over the next couple of day the bug will go away! I'm hoping this means I will have no probs with colds etc during our trip.

I know - I just need to persuade Zaheer it is like that as well! I really want to try and watch Hallowishes from the park - Z has said that he will now think about it again and let me know his final decision in a couple of weeks. Just keep your fingers crossed he agrees with my reasoning!

I doubt Z would dress up at all so that doesn't bother me. Lol if I get a tune into my head it is normally hard to get rid of it so I will prob be singing the music for the rest of my life! Not that I mind...:rotfl2:

I really want to see Headless Horseman as well.

I sure hope so - he is considering it at the minute so keep your fingers crossed for me! :wizard: I know - after reading all about it I am so pumped up and want to just book it. I think I'm going to book a backup ADR anyway so either way we will be able to eat at Kona Cafe. I can't wait to be able to see all the stuff you have mentioned and get some cool pics! I sure hope Z comes round - will let you know.

I know...I so want to go! I will mention the low crowds to Z and the appeal of the party to see if it will help persuade him any further.

I think seeing it in the park will be a whole different experience to watching it at Poly and we will enjoy it more. I'm pretty sure once Z gets there he will be like this was totally worth it but it's just convincing him at the minute - I could always book the tickets anyway but that just seems a bit mean! ;)

Right - will show him The Headless Horseman and see if that makes him change his mind - keep your fingers crossed! :wizard:

You have all sold it to me now! I def want to go - just need to try and persuade Z! I want to see the parade, Hallowishes in the park and the characters dressed up in their Halloween costumes! Will let you know the final outcome.

Since this will be our first MNSSHP, I can't help, but I'm learning lots of new things just reading here!

Hey, no probs - I really hope we get to say that this year we will be doing our first MNSSHP as well! I sure have read about a lot of things I want to make sure I see if we book tickets - just need a suggestion on how to convince Zaheer it is the right decision! Have thought of a few but it may result in me having to take someone else with me on the trip!! :lmao:

Hi Tanz, hope you're feeling better now!

Ok, you have to go to MNSSHP!!! Hallowishes definitely has to be experienced inside MK for the full effect, and like others have said it's a chance to see the characters in special outfits, even some characters you don't normally see on a day to day basis.

The other thing you could use to persuade him is the parade - it's completely different to the usual parade, loads of different characters (including some of the POTC and HM characters!). The lighting effects are amazing during the party, plus it's a completely different atmosphere as lots of people are dressed up, it's fun seeing all the different costumes.

Hiya! Thanks, am feeling much better - have passed the bug onto my mum!

I know I really want to go! Z has said he needs to think about it and will let me know. Am keeping schtum about it for now as think if I keep mentioning it he'll just get wound up! I would love to see Hallowishes from inside the park and the different characters.

Have shown him some of the parade on You Tube but will show him the rest in a few days. Keep your fingers crossed! :wizard:
