Friday, 11/30, Day 8:
Oh, it was so hard to get up this morning! We slept in again and had breakfast in our room. We headed for the bus stop to go to MGM. Fortunately, we only had a 10 minute wait this time and were able to catch the 11:30 show of Beauty and the Beast. The kids loved it! After the show, DH finally got to take his turn on ToT while we shopped.

We then took the Ferry over to EPCOT – it was a relaxing 30 minute ride – something we had never done before. I finally know what the Boardwalk and Yacht/Beach Club resorts looks like! This was our day for the CP dinner package, so I got an order of Fish & Chips from Rose & Crown, and everyone else had ice cream for a snack. Since we had the 15% discount because of CP, we did our shopping in MouseGears. DH and DS went on Test Track one last time, and then it was time to head to Garden Grill for dinner. This is our new favorite must-do meal!

I enjoyed the Candlelight Procession, but everyone else was fairly bored. My DH doesn’t appreciate good music and the kids were just plain tired! They kept asking when it would be over.

Our youngest DD had woken up from her nap in her stroller with a fever, so we headed straight back to CR as soon as CP ended – was that a long walk to the monorail! DH, DS, and DD went to the 12th floor to watch the MK fireworks. I stayed back in the room with our youngest DD since she was sick. We also realized that night that we could see the Illuminations fireworks from our balcony, too.

hi, just thought id let you know i was at mgm on friday too, i saw a group of dis.com members when i was sitting outside of tot. i was resting while the rest of the family was riding tot.... were you in the group? it was around the time of fantasmic.... then in the evening we went to epcot considering its the only park open till 9:30, we left saturday morn around 7 am, we drove.... i was just wondering how all those dis.comm ers get to see verything and do everything when they have to walk in groups ..? hope your trip was as great as ours...

No, I wasn't in that group. We headed over to EPCOT around 1:00 that afternoon.

Glad you had a good trip, too.

Great trip reports. How did you get from the CR to MK? Did you ever walk by chance? We will be there in January and I am trying to guage distance. Also, how was your experience getting through security each morning. Long waits?

You mentioned watching the fireworks from the 12th floor -- is that the floor right off of the California grill where you go on to the roof or is that a different area?

joshua4, we did walk over to MK twice. I was amazed how short a walk it was - it took us about 7 minutes. We really didn't have long waits to get through security.

The California Grill is on the 15th floor, but the night they tried to go up there, they couldn't get to that floor for some reason. Since they couldn't go to 15, they were able to go to the 12th floor and watch from there instead.

What is on the 12th floor? Is there a lounge with big windows? Can you hear the music from the fireworks show?

Great to hear abou the short walk to MK -- I would like to avoid crowded monorails during the busy times.

Thanks.

Lauren

I wish I could tell you more, but I stayed in the room with our DD that night. I think that you usually have to have a resort key to get to the 12th floor because it's the Tower Club level. (Sorry, if I'm wrong about that.)

So sorry to hear that one of your dd's wasn't well this day. At least you could see Illuminations from your room :)

Thanks for sharing your day with us.

If your talking about the contemporary you can ride the elevator to the top (there is a restaraunt up there) get off the elevators and turn right (the only way) and then right again and go out the glass doors. You will be standing on the roof and you'll have a beautiful view from there.

Hi kinlaw6450, for some reason, they had that floor closed that evening and we couldn't go to the roof. My DS and I had gone to the roof earlier in the week, but my DH said that he couldn't get to the roof that night. He didn't know why and he's not the type to go ask someone. ;)

Thanks for posting. Sorry to hear DD wasn't feeling well. :(

I'm sorry to hear your DD didn't feel well. It is so tough to get sick in WDW of all places. :(
