~Our June '09 adventure~ I'm home! Started TR 7/2

 Wait, we did love something! My mom never really liked Pooh so we never had the Pooh stuffed animals or watched the classic shows when we were babies which is what I was thinking of, but do you remember "The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" on the Disney Channel in the mid-90s?!!! Mike and I would watch this every day before school... hearing the theme song is gonna make me cry, it brings back so many memories!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Do you remember this?!!! :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc

For someone who "didn't really like Winnie the Pooh" I absolutely loved this show. And I actually completely forgot about it until right now haha!

Haha now that stupid song is stuck in my head!! I loved that show though!

OMG!!! Now I'm on a huge Youtube kick. I think I may have mentioned this before but do you remember this show!?!!!! Mike and I would watch Winnie the Pooh and then this every morning while we had breakfast before school! Aw!!!!!!!!!!!! That's why I love Disney so much, for all the memories :goodvibes:

OMG! I WAS OBSESSED WITH THAT SHOW! Now looking at that clip it looks so old :(

Attraction of the Day...

Mickey's PhillharMagic

Oh I love this attraction! :lovestruc I love singing and dancing along to all the songs. It's so funny seeing the kids reach out to things like the jewelry and treasures during the Ariel scene. And during the "Be Our Guest" scene, I always jump when the blow the air at you several times. But my favorite part? Flying on the magic carpet with Aladdin and Jasmine and flying with Peter Pan and Tink!

I love this SO much and I didn't even discover it until my last trip!

Finally one I've done! I LOVE Mickey's Philharmagic! It always makes me cry, especially during the Aladdin, Little Mermaid and Lion King parts. It's the most magical thing in all of the Magic Kingdom to me  My mom always cries too!

Me too!!!

LoL..well I'm glad. And if you're bored and want to look at pictures...my '08 TR is in my sig. too.

OK I am all caught up AND I read your TR! It was awesome and your next trip is going to be so much fun, too!!

Voyage of the Little Mermaid-LOVE it. My favorite part is at the beginning and they do the "Under the Sea" part with all the bright puppet things, it just puts me in the best mood!

Philharmagic-LOVE it too. I agree with everyone else's comments, its just the epitome of Disney magic. I get motion sickness too and have to close my eyes during a few parts, although I noticed this trip that it didn't bother me as much. But I am just in love with this show, I vividly remember the first time we did it, my mom and I were in AWE.

Peter Pan-no real distinct memories, unfortunately we hardly ever ride it because the line is always ridiculous, but I love it. I remember riding it as a child and it being my favorite.

Pooh-when I was in college my best friend at the time and I went to Disney for a long weekend to see her mom who lived a few hours away. That trip was the first time I'd ridden Pooh, and when we got to the Tigger part we just cracked up, I thought it was so awesome. We are no longer friends, but that is such a good memory from some of the good times we had.

I always sing along to "Under the Sea". Sis gets so embarassed!

PhilharMagic is amazing, isn't it?!

The line for Peter Pan IS always crazy. The only way that we ride it now is with fast passes!!

The Tigger part of Pooh does make me laugh too! :)

You are awesome!!!! :goodvibes

Glad you liked my TR. It was an unexpected trip for me so I didn't really have time to plan anything..and I forgot to take a notebook with me. But I promise this TR for June will be better! :)

Wasn't is the best?!! It brings back so many memories! :lovestruc

I LOOVEEE Pirates! My favorite memory was from our trip in 2007 when I took ONE flash picture of Captain Jack all the way at the end of the ride and Mike screamed at me that "THERE'S NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY!" He was so serious too, it was hilarious! He's gone from a Disney skeptic to the freakin' Disney police

LOL I can just see/hear Mike doing that. :lmao:

Speaking of the Pirates, has anyone done the "George" thing while on the ride?! I've been chicken to do it.

Attraction of the Day...

Pirates

Oh, we have so much love for this one! :lovestruc Especially now that they've added Capt. Jack Sparrow. One memory that comes to mind about this ride is actually about the queue line! We were stuck in this one spot FOREVER in line so my B/F got the idea to idea a penny behind one of these things that were on the wall and then we'd see if it was still there the next time we rode Pirates during the trip. So...a few days later, we get in line on the same side (the left) and when we got to the hiding place-it was still there!

Arrrrgh, me mateys!!! Sailing the seas with Captain Jack is one of our favorites, savvy? pirate:

:lmao:

I have two for this one! :thumbsup2

On our last trip we walked right on, (I think it was EMH, but I can't remember) and we each got to have our own row of the boat. The CM was funny, he told us we could wait and get our own boats if we wanted, but we said our own rows was fine. It seems like we always have great luck like that at Pirates...

...except for this one time during Spring Break when everyone decided not to listen to me and the crowd calendar and outvoted me to go to MK. It was sooooooooooo busy that day because of these various tour groups, but for some reason everyone else in my group was determined to do MK that day. Well, you know the "plaza" in front of Pirates with all the pillars? They had the line set up out there with chains, and the chains were like six rows deep! NEVER had I seen the line stretch that far. NEVER. So we're standing in the never-ending line because I was outvoted AGAIN (See a pattern here?), and all of a sudden this little kid starts playing with these iron rings that decorate the pillars. He kept raising it and dropping it, and it was making this clanking sound of metal against metal. So then, suddenly it becomes this new trend in line, and EVERYONE (kids AND adults) is playing with these rings. The clinking and clanking from the rings was so loud, and some of the people who outvoted me in my group were getting really annoyed by it...so I joined in and grabbed a ring to play with. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

BTW, that line for Pirates ended up being our longest wait the entire trip. I tried not to tell them "I told you so" but it might have slipped into conversation a couple times after that.

Pirates is my only memory I have from my first Disney trip!! I was in preschool at the time and we were visiting my grandparents in Florida and they took us to the MK. The only thing I remember was the drop and it TERRIFIED me. I cried and cried and my family tells me they remember me screaming "you didn't tell me it was a roller coaster!":rotfl: Now going on it, the drop is so small! It's kind of funny that my only memory is a bad one but now it makes me smile when I look back on it.:goodvibes

I LOVE Pirates!

This is hard because I grew up going to DL and have only been to WDW twice. And it's been so long since I was in DL... Anyway, I think the ride is different between the two parks. I have this vivid memory from pirates at the END of the ride. It was like we came up into this room and it totally felt like we had gone outside. The ceiling above was blue and the room was lit in such a way, I don't know, when I rode the Pirates at WDW I was just waiting for that feeling at the end, and it never came. I don't know if my memories are whacked or what.:confused3

I just love the entire ride. It's been a long lasting fav of mine...

Oh my gosh! I can't believe the line was that long!

Oh wow! I wish I could go to DL and ride it and make comparisons!

Hey girl, hope you guys got home safe and stuff. I'll prob talk to you tomorrow but have a good weekend anyway :goodvibes

No specific memory for Pirates but I HAVE been on this one at least and I really liked it!

I love the updates they added to Pirates! Pirates is just one of those classics you have to ride every trip. I do have to say though, that the Disneyland version is a lot better...it's much longer!

Did you know that Pirates was originally supposed to be a walk-through attraction and it was later that Walt decided to add the boats? Just a little Disney tidbit for ya! (I'm telling you, those Imagineering Field Guides are very interesting!).

my absolute favorite memory of pirates is memories of my dad in general on this ride. he would sing at the top of his lungs the entire ride, "yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me" over and over again.....never any other words! :rotfl: he did it every time we went and i remember being 15 and being SO EMBARRASSED! i have that as his ring tone now when he calls me. :goodvibes

oh, and also when i rode this with my friend erin. she had never been on before and after the big dip she got really mad that i didn't warn her. she said, "what if i was adjusting in my seat or something and lost my footing and fell out in the water?????" i was like, "um.....yeah. all 2 feet of it!!!!" :rotfl2:

Haha, you know me too well to know I went home. :goodvibes You know we went to Red Lobster right? Well before that, he said we could go to the mall so I could go to American Eagle and get these shorts I've been wanting! :woohoo: Well..on the way to AE...I walked by the Hallmark store, which has Vera Bradley bags! I never noticed them before! And guess what...I got one for WDW!

The DL version is longer?! No fair! Yes...I did hear that it was supposed to be a walk-through. So everything was supposed to be the same (the scenes) but you would've walked through it instead of the boats?

Haha, adjusting in her seat as she's entering a dark tunnel before the drop?

I thought the WDW ride seemed shorter, but I thought it was just the memories of a younger person. You know, everything seems longer and bigger when you are young...I'm glad to read this confirmation.

Oh wow! I wish I could go to DL and ride it and make comparisons!

Me too!!!

Attraction of the Day...

Snow White

I guess I don't have any real big memories from this one...Just that we love going on Snow White during Wishes! We walk right on it every time! :thumbsup2

Which Vera bag did you get? I have a Snow White memory I'll share with you: I went on it when I was around 4 and started crying when the witch spins around. Then a few months later someone in my family bought me a WDW book for Christmas. I saw the picture of "Snow White's Scary Adventures" and screamed "I DON'T LIKE THAT RIDE!!!!" My parents STILL think it's hilarious and if we are about to go on it now they'll say, "Are you sure? I thought you DIDN'T LIKE THAT RIDE??"
